I just decided to move to the high desert and become an adult that wanted to give it a try at home ownership. I'm single mother doing the best i can to provide for my children and give us all what i felt in I would have liked growing up. We all know that sometimes a single women is a good target to take advantage of but from the time i spoke with Jacqueline i knew God sent me an angel. From our first meeting i never once had a feeling that i was going to have a problem with the process of finding a flooring and being charged an arm and a leg. (13 yrs of my line of work I'm a pretty good people reader) Jackie took the time to help me find a floor that she says is not a customary pick of most people from the high desert ( blame my mom for that) but once the floor was found the work began. I was kept abreast on every aspect of work that need to be done. Jackie is the type of person who like to speak with you eye to eye so there is no misunderstanding of what is being said. I found out that my island wasn't secure to the floor the foundation needed some TLC and the cabinets were seating on tile that has previously been layed. I wanted to cry because i saved up money but not enough for all the things that can come to light. Thankfully, all issues were taken care of within the company, her husband David is a mircale worker. The walk through and guidance of base boards and grout to pick out was trully appericated. I HATE TO SHOP, if it was up to me jackie could have picked everything, but with her patience she was able to get me to see things in another light. I can't express enough how gracious she was to me. By the end of the job I was in tears and overwhelmed with the sincerity and kindness affored to me by this company. I honestly don't feel i was taken advantage of or misguided. I will forever use A&A flooring for any upcoming work, which is a lot. I truly love my floors and the people i met. You want outstanding work with no stress give Mrs. Jacqueline a call you won't regret it; and if you regret it it's your fault ; )

We needed tile repaired in our kitchen due to a water leak. After months of trying to coordinate…read morewith our original tile man, I decided to search for another company. Based on Yelp reviews, I called this company for an estimate and inquired if they did tile repair. Jacqueline assisted me with setting up an appointment time (the very next day, by the way). She was empathetic, helpful, soft spoken and professional. David arrived on time and was very helpful in determining what work needed to be done to complete the repair. We set a date for repair and David and Louis arrived as scheduled and on time. They protected my entire kitchen area with plastic and began the work. Louis is very skilled and prepped the floor as needed. He was also pleasant and helpful and explained the repair process to us. Even though I knew the name/color of the original grout, David still brought a sample book just to be sure it was correct. It's about the quality of work - and who wants to get it wrong? Once the floor was prepped and the replacement tile installed, he said he would return in a few hours in order for everything to dry before he grouted the area. Both Louis and David returned in a few hours, as promised and completed the job. If you were not aware of where the repair originated on my kitchen floor, I challenge you to find the repair area. It's that good. David has an impeccable work ethic. If you are searching for a professional for tile repair, look no further. I would not hesitate to use and recommend A & A Flooring Specialist for all of your flooring needs. I'm only disappointed that I did not choose A & A Flooring when my original tile floor was installed - but now I know. Another easy feature is they emailed an invoice to me where I had the option of paying the invoice using a secure link they provided. They also accept checks if you prefer that option as well.

I spoke with Michael, who scheduled a time to come out and give me an estimate. He arrived on time, took measurements of my floors, kitchen cabinets, countertops, and both bathroom showers, and was very professional throughout the entire process. What really stood out to me was how detailed and patient he was. Since this was my first home remodel, I had a lot of questions, and Michael took the time to explain every step of the project from beginning to end. He also went over the materials in detail and helped me understand which products would be the best option for my home and budget. His quote was very competitive compared to two other companies I had received estimates from, but more importantly, he made me feel comfortable and confident moving forward with the project. That level of honesty and communication is what earned my business. The project was scheduled quickly, and Michael estimated it would take about 2-3 weeks to complete. He stayed true to his timeline, and the final results turned out beautiful. I'm extremely happy and satisfied with the work that was done, and I would highly recommend Pacific Construction to anyone looking for reliable and professional remodeling services. Our house looks clean and opened it up even more! The house looks bigger inside. Their pricing beat two other contractors AND we had an upgraded level of vinyl, how can you beat that? His team was exceptional, and even helped with moving furniture and were understanding regarding the living conditions. They did so well, we're planning to all counter tops in the future! They have a great selection and are available at all times. Everytime I reached out to Mike for concerns he answered his phone and responded to our needs. Bergstrom likes to say "I've been doing this for 35 years". I guess that means he has spent 35…read moreyears in not following the laws he signed up to follow with the Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB). His wife Kelly will respond that they won in court, but not really. The problem is that the civil courts will not accept the Business and Profession codes. At least not in the Barstow courts. But these are the laws the contractors have to follow when they sign up for their license from the state. So if you want to hire a contractor whether Bergstrom or another, follow these steps. First check their license at (CSLB.ca.gov). You can look them up by their company name ie Bergstrom Construction, or their license number ie 550925. Things to look for on the site are, is the license active. On Bergstrom's page just below the license expiration date you will see a sentence in red writing. Click on this and you will see a citation number. click on this number and you will see all the violations this contractor has against him by the CSLB. Bergstrom has 11 from my contract. At the bottom of the first page you will see 3 blue boxes. The one saying Other Licensees, click on it and you will see the other construction company the contractor owns. This company will bring the workers in your home. This is done by contractors that want to avoid workers comp for their employees. But now that he was caught, he has made all his employees, Officers of his company. This means he still does not have to buy workers comp for them. But the state law states an officer is someone who actually works in the operations of the company, ie a CEO, or CFO. The laborers or carpenters are still employees since they do the work for the company. Bet he didn't tell them as officers, if he is sued, they are also liable to pay. When you hire any contractor, check over the contract. To avoid being dragged into civil court, ensure that the contractor has it written in that you will go to arbitration for disputes. If your contract is for less than $25,000 ensure it states that in a dispute you will go to mandatory arbitration. And if the contract is for $25,001 to $50,000, it should say he will go to Voluntary arbitration. Anything higher has to go to civil court. Arbitration is paid for by the CSLB and they enforce the laws the contractor must follow. Business and Profession code 7159(d)(9), states the contractor can and should set up a progressive payment plan. In other words the job of a kitchen remodel is broken down into sections to be paid at the completion of each part of the contract. Ie, it might be broken down to demo, wiring, drywall, cabinets. You only pay at the completion of that part, not up front. Under B&P code 7159.5(c)(5), the contractor can only ask for a down payment up front. That is for 10% up to no more than $1,000 at the signing of the contract. No other payment goes to the contractor till he completes a step in the progressive payment plan. B&P code 7159(a)(5), is about extra work. If the contractor finds he has to do extra work that is needed but was unforeseen in his estimate, then he must discuss it with you before he starts the extra work. And that he must do a Change Order, or basically updating your contract. This Change Order must be signed by him and you just as the original contract to acknowledge that you both know that the contract was altered. As I stated in the beginning, the civil court shut me up when I tried to explain why I was wronged because Bergstrom demanded $10,000 before he started work. Turns out his crew were not licensed contractors, and CSLB stated not to let them back into my house since they were employees with no workers comp. This means that if his workers get hurt in your house, they can sue you. Strange that he's one of the more expensive contractors. Yet all the workers he brought in my house were not contractors according to the CSLB. His electrician had no license for 17 years. But the law allows the contractor to hire anyone from in front of Home Depot and work under his license. He did hire a licensed plumber who had no workers comp for his employees. Bergstrom as the primary contractor should have checked that the plumber had it. But failed to do his job. He didn't even finish the first step of the contract but was paid up front. To add insult to injury he claimed I owed an extra $8,000 in extra work. He showed up in court with an invoice stating I owed him. The court accepted the invoice. It was not a Change Order and did not have my signature on it. Again go to CSLB arbitration. So when hiring a contractor, ensure you check them out well. Ensure there is a statement in the contract for arbitration through CSLB. My personal opinion is stay away from this company, and his other company Eagle Contractors.

I contacted Francisco for cleaning, painting and popcorn removal; which came out beautiful. I received the Vinyl Plank floors and Ceiling Fans (I hadn't hired anyone yet but had shipped to the house) and Francisco said he could do the floors and fans also. What luck finding him, as he did the entire house/project with minimal supervision, he handled it all took a lot of stress off me. The House came out beautiful. Besides Electrical, his plumbing skills are great and he installed a new double-sink vanity in the master bath; it was previously 1 sink, so the plumbing needed changing. He also did the Closet Doors, the Faux Wood Blinds and changed all the outlets and more.  Francisco provided a couple soft suggestions and he was absolutely right!.  He genuinely saw the modern, updated, though renter and budget friendly theme I was going for and it seems he was genuinely helping me get my theme right, in a budget friendly manner, not simply expand his workload.  After the tub was refinished, new double vanity, new lighting, and large mirrors, he said "do you really want to put these shower doors back on (from the 80s) and he was right, the new shower doors which he gave me a great price to install, made the entire bath look new, modernized and updated.  He also mentioned the inexpensive Panel closet sliding doors, which really was needed and they did update the bedrooms a bit at a good price and look very nice.  His work was beautiful,he did clean up, he knows what he is doing, and I will definitely hire him again.  Actually, I did hire him again (I had to replace a water heater).  One thing to consider, if you are in a timeline, get an exact completion date. The project took about 3 weeks longer, than I anticipated, but it was worth it as the price and Francisco himself being great to work with and handling it with minimal supervision. The final project was everything I wanted.
