It's been 8 years and we are still repairing issues from Mike Bergstrom. A major leak on Christmas Eve 2025. A major electrical shortage February 2026. Both separate issues but both related to the work done by Mike Bergstrom. The leaks are where he added on to our existing home, and we choose to avoid issues to not just add to the roof but completely redo the whole thing! We invested the extra money ironically hoping to have a worry free addition using all new. The first electrical issue was related to the fire detector in the room addition being installed incorrectly, so it kept going off. The second was a short in the new wiring in the kitchen addition done by Mike. When hired Mike talked a good sales pitch he promised to always stand by his work. We've tried to seek his help over the last 8 years with numerous issues undeniably related to the addition and he will not repair his work. When called a gal named Rhonda answers.... Promises to help but then ghosts you. Contacting a company you paid over $70k for should receive at a minimum a response. We reached out simply to obtain documents or proof on our roof warranty seeing that most have a 10 year warranty. We didn't want him or his team back in the home considering his work is a danger but we did want to check warranties seeing that the roof he did had leaked several times (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025) all at the joints of the addition. Simply put..... stay away from this company, not only is the workmanship a failure but there is zero accountability and integrity from the owner. read more

We have used Bergstrom Construction twice for a kitchen remodel and a bathroom remodel. We chose them the first time for a kitchen remodel after interviewing a lot of other contractors for the job. I found Mike to be genuine and very open to various ideas and, most important, his ability to write an accurate estimate that seemed fair to both of us and his guarantee that if we stayed within the parameters, there wouldn't be any additional charges. This remodel was in 2021 during the covid lockdowns which was a difficult time because of supply chain issues. Still things went well all things considered and there were no cost additions except for what we added later. We then decided to update a 50-year-old master bath & bedroom and add a walk-in closet. For this remodel, based on the experience during the kitchen, we just called Bergstrom. Again, the remodel turned up beautiful and there were no cost overruns. There are a lot of people that could have done the job, but the important thing to us was the quick response of the team to any questions or concerns during the process and being Mike being true to his word that there would be no cost overruns as long as we stayed within the original parameters. my DIY patio is 20 yrs old. the job was to convert a lattice to solid cover patio. Difficult project! Framing team excellent. Returned twice to change things I wanted. electrician returned once to make changes I wanted. Painters repainted using many extra gallons of stain. Mike's crew did a 700 square foot room addition on our house and some other upgrades, and it has changed our life. Incredible work. Everyone on the crew from the roofers to the dry wall crew, to the electrical and demolition crew, were prompt and did everything to the highest standards. We loved them so much that we are looking for a reason to call them back to our house (possibly a casita in the back for the in laws?). They were also trustworthy and did not give us any runaround. Everything cost exactly what they said it would cost. Incredible work. If only every company today would have the same work ethic! I think this company takes a lot of pride in its name and its work. From the consultation to the finished job I cannot say enough good things about the process of dealing with Bergstrom Construction. Never having been the main contact in the family for any construction in our home Mike, Rhonda and his entire "crew" and subcontractors explained every step of our bathroom improvements needed for a disabled member of the family. ALL questions I needed to ask, regardless of how "silly" they may have sounded were answered with genuine respect. Our bathroom is not only a major improvement to our home but the security of the additions for safety have put all concerns I've had to ease. The work, whether from a sub-contractor or a crew person from Bergstrom was top notch and done with professionalism. I never felt any less than the most valuable client of the day, knowing that each tradesperson had at least one other job to go to that day. I might also add that the written estimate was adhered to and the only changes were written into the estimate when WE requested some additions - NO SURPRISES in cost at the finish of the remodel. Mike Bergstrom is a pathetic! As previously stated in similar posts, he is not professional. Who comes to do an estimate without anything to measure, no photos taken, didn't even bother to do a walk through. Mike was only interested in receiving copies of the bids other companies had provided. I emailed the bids as requested (not sure why he needed to see them) and I have yet to hear back from him. Don't waste your time with anyone who begins a business relationship on a questionable note..it can only get worst! There are many more construction companies to consider. read more

My wife and I used Bergstrom Construction for a master bedroom/bath addition, along with a kitchen remodel. Mike was great to work with. He had some great ideas regarding kitchen interior dimensions that we probably would have made our aisles and pantry too small. He also made some suggestions on the bath layout to save us money on underground sewer work without sacraficing our original intent. We really liked the fact that Mike gave us an "allowance" in our budget for finish material. We did overspend that "allowance" but are really happy with the fixtures that we chose. Mike was at our house at least once a week and addressed any concerns that we had. We would not hesitate to call Mike again for a future project. read more

This Construction Company did my kitchen. You pay in sections. They come in early to work and have professional friendly people coming in at different times to complete tasks as a team. They fix anything out to smooth things over. They have a good way to communicate which is a person who goes out and makes sure things are running properly which is Mike. Rhonda is the one who runs everything by phone and works well with her crew to get things in order. I had a leak and then black mold so my lights, sink, cabinets replaced with the walls done. We had our kitchen and both bathrooms remodeled. The transformation was amazing. Our house looks so different. All the workers were friendly and they listened to any concerns we may have had. After the house was done we also added a patio cover. Had a couple of issues after completion but they were both handled. We love our new house! read more

Never again. Recently I agreed to have this company do some remodeling for me. Mike took my initial payment which he deposited into his account within two hours. Never heard from him after that. After more than five weeks I called and cancelled the job. Went with another company less than half the price. Now he refuses to reimburse for what I paid although he never put one cent into my project. I guess he thinks he can just pocket your money without doing anything. Have filed complaints. read more

Started off appointment on the wrong foot! Arrived 20 minutes late, did not bother to notify us. When Mike arrived, he came into our home to view the areas that needed repair from a recent leak. He did not wear a mask when entering our home as many other contractors have. He did not take measurements or photos to give us an estimate. Instead, he asked my husband to email him the estimate from our insurance company. We sent him the estimate from the insurance company over 3 weeks ago and have yet to hear from him. Apparently a $4,500 job isn't good enough for him. I would suggest you look elsewhere! If he's this lazy to do an estimate, he's going to be the same with the actual job. read more

Not a very good contractor. He will take someone to the bank if you don't know anything about construction. They are not very good with communicating or giving you a schedule of the job he is doing for you. There are a lot better contractors out there. read more

My wife and I found Bergstrom Construction when we attended the High Desert Home Show and we are glad that we found them. We didn't get a chance to actually speak to them there, but we left our name and number. A few days later, Mike met with us and we asked him how long would it take to get an estimate on a bid and he was able to give it to us right then and there. He actually remodeled a home that had the same floor plan as us which I thought was a plus. After 8 months of construction and remodeling (huge house project) our home looks completely different and modern. Mike and Kelly are very professional and know what they are talking about. If we had any concerns, we would let Kelly know and she would address it right away and she was great with updating us every step. Mike was able to plan out the layout of the house which we love the fact that we have more open space. All of their workers are nice and were very helpful, especially Ken and Anthony. Another local company wrapped up repairs last month on a remodel BERGSTROM CONSTRUCTION did. The work needed repair because of really sloppy finish work by Bergstrom. The company owner and wife were terrible they were disorderly, hard to work with and often misleading would never recommend them. read more

Set up a 4:30 appointment for a quote at a property in Hesperia and let them know i was coming from fullerton in orange county. Called ahead at 4:15 and got no answer and called several times more until finally reached kelly who said she forgot but will send contractor right away. We waited two hours after first call in front of house and several follow up calls before mike showed up. I explained to kelly house was gutted by vandals and piping and electrical torn out plus holes everywhere when I set appointment. After mike saw it and showed two hours late he said he didnt have time to bid and could i come back or have someone else let him in later. I explained i was the one to let him in and needed him to bid now as agreed which he said he couldnt. I told him I was not happy with that and would let others know how he does business. At that point he got on the phone in front of me and told his wife kelly I was being an a..hole. I was going to pay for bid...it wasnt free. He was very unprofessional and would not hire him based on the first impression he put forth. read more
