History
Established in 2025.
925 Dance Collective is a competition-focused studio in Lafayette, California, offering elevated training in a supportive, empowering environment. Founded in 2025, we were built to redefine competition dance by combining strong technical training with a grounded, dancer-first culture that values both growth and well-being.
“925” reflects our East Bay roots, while “Collective” represents our inclusive community where dancers, families, and instructors grow together. We’re not just a place to train, but we’re also a space where dancers feel supported, challenged, and inspired.
We believe artistry is accessible to all, with clear pathways from first-time dancers to competitive performers. Programs build strong technique, confidence, and performance ability through structured training. We aim to help every dancer progress with purpose.
Meet the Business Owner: Laura and Tenaya .
925 Dance Collective was founded by Laura Fegraus and Tenaya Garrett—two local moms whose daughters shared a love for dance. Like many Lamorinda families, they wanted more: stronger training, more opportunities, and a healthier studio environment. What began as a vision for their own children grew into a space built for the wider community.
Laura, CEO and Co-Founder, brings 25+ years of leadership experience across healthcare, nonprofit, and public policy. Her journey has shaped her belief in resilience, creativity, and supportive spaces where people can thrive.
Tenaya, Managing Director and Co-Founder, brings a background in performing arts and entrepreneurship, with training at the American Conservatory Theater and professional experience in Los Angeles and San Francisco. She leads program development and partnerships.
Together, they are building more than a studio—they are creating a place where dancers grow with confidence.
