This is my first season here at Studio A, my daughter has been dancing for 12 seasons and this is by far the BEST season she's had! It's been so great, my younger daughter also wanted to start taking classes as well! All of the kids and parents are warm and welcoming. You can really tell that Aggie loves and cares for the kids and families who come here! The kids have fun here in addition to their great training and choreography. My daughter's confidence has soared this season! This is exactly the type of environment we were looking for when we signed up for dance!! This is our first year at Studio A, after having to leave another studio of 12 years due to a scheduling conflict. We were very lucky to find Studio A and my daughter loves her new dance family. Switching studios is super stressful but Aggie and the Studio A staff made our transition seamless. The dancers are so supportive of each other and made my daughter feel right at home. The parents are all very helpful and have made me feel welcome as well. My daughter's confidence level has soared, and she is loving her new home. We were in the 4-5 year old ballet/tap and went to dress rehearsal for the yearly recital. The teacher asked me where my child's yellow bow was. I told her I didn't know-she promptly told me angrily i had to go to Michael's and get the same exact ribbon. She came back and told parents 2 girls aren't wearing make up. I told the teacher my daughter wasn't going to wear make up- I asked her and she did not want to. Teacher said she would take my child back stage and place make up on her herself if I didn't do it. You can imagine my response. The director came and apologized but the teacher never apologized or reached out to me. Later my daughter told me she def wanted to make sure she had her yellow bow because the teacher got mad at her in class for not wearing it. Multiple issues here 1) unrealistic expectations that a 4 year old will do what they're told like putting on make up 2) lack of respect for child's body autonomy re make up and threatening to place something on her face without her or my consent 3) no understanding or discussion re allergy or sensitivities culturally etc re make up or facial products 4) making a child feel guilty or anger towards a child who is 4 years old because of a yellow bow 5) poor follow up after no apology made to parents Fast forward to this year at a different dance studio who puts on a similar end of year show. They have guidelines for their older girls but completely understand w flexibility that younger girls cannot be forced to do things - that is developmental. When a dance studio claims to teach all ages of children but fails to respect them as people and meet them at their developmentally appropriate level then I would say they missed the mark on cultivating a love for dance. I love dancing! It is one of the few things that bring me joy! I have been with this school for over a year now. I take tap, hip hop 1 &2, and ballet at this school and I love it! I've had the wonderful opportunity to take tap classes from Ms. Lyenne Denny at Studio A. She is a lot of fun to take classes from. I started tapping with her about a year ago and have learned so much! I am not that good yet, but I am working on it and hopefully soon, I can catch up to my classmates in tap 2! AJ Rogers teaches the hip hop classes I take at studio A. It is a great workout, and the choreography is fun too. My friend called a tall scrawny white boy, but he has some moves. I think a better variety in combinations would be great though. He is trying to cater to the masses, but he needs to spice things up a bit sometimes. (sorry AJ... nothin but luv mayn!) For ballet, I have been graced by two wonderful instructors, Ms. Holly Morrow and Ms. Mercedes Sheets. both of these women excel in their art and have had an extensive dance careers after finishing at the San Francisco Ballet school. Ms Mercedes teaches the Wednesday night class at Studio. It is a great challenge for me because it moves at a quicker pace. Ms Holly teaches a Saturday morning class which is geared more towards beginner dancers. All in all, I think Studio A was a great choice for a dance school. Aggie (the school founder) is super nice and fun to watch dance ballet... she is sooooo good!!!!! So come in and join me sometime! I would love to have more people dancing with me! read more

My daughter attends classes here for over a year and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. She has taken combo & intro classes with Ms. Aggie, Ms. April, & Ms. Mary. I love the combo classes for a beginning dancer, as they really create a love for dance. They correct at that point but not overly as to keep class enjoyable for a 3-4 year old. For a 5-6 with a year or two under their belt, an introduction class is great. Still 45 minutes, but with more correction & technique. Just wonderful!! Older children seem to be very talented & enjoy classes & performing. Also, had my daughter's birthday here & it was just awesome! Organized & kept children entertained, kids had a blast dancing & performing for their parents. read more

Studio A is truly an exceptional dance studio! My child has been dancing there for six years and has found not only a love and passion for dance there, but has found an amazing, supportive and encouraging community. The teachers and families at Studio A are warm and accepting. He has grown in technique and artistry though the excellent instruction he has received in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, and hip hop. He has the opportunity to compete with the company team and loves the excitement and engagement provided through that experience. Lastly, my son was recently accepted into multiple college dance programs. I know this would not have been possible without the overwhelming support of Studio A Director, Ms. Aggie and Studio A dance instructors who went above and beyond to help him prepare for auditions. Fantastic and fun dance school! My daughter just finished ballet classes here. It challenged her in ways that she has not experienced before (at the ripe age of almost 6). She has learned to work hard, be patient, and listen. The teachers are all so nice, and also talented. We had the talented Ms. Izzy. After months of coming here once a week, it feels like a second home. We say hi to everyone, and feel comfortable. I love watching how all the students are putting their hearts into dance. They all encourage each other. They have a lot of seriously talented dancers! We are sad to see this session end, but excited for the showcase! My daughter has been dancing here since around September and we just love it! She is four and has the best time. Mary is the instructor. I can't say enough great things about her. Such an amazing school. My daughter is 3 and the teacher makes the class so much fun. The kids are having so much fun and actually learning ballet and tap. My daughter took dance here for almost 4 years. She took ballet for only 2 classes and I the director told us that we are better off spending our money elsewhere. She participated in this dance school for 4 years since she was 3.5 . She took ballet , jazz and combo classes . She was apparently good enough to participate in 3 showcases. My husband thought the whole showcase thing was a complete dog show. The kids wore make up and very revealing outfits.I enrolled her in ballet with Ms Paula , who does not seem to have any patience for children, who are learning. My daughter was in tears for a long time . DO NOT take classes from this school. read more

I just took adult tap class, which is really like a 13 and up type thing, I think. I'm in my 30s and seemed to fit in just fine. I'm a cyclist, a runner, a hiker...dancer really wasn't in my vocabulary when I signed up. I was worried when I signed up that the class would be super advanced and I'd fall apart. That was not the case! I loved it. I am not the most coordinated of people. My last dance class was 20 years ago. Basically, this is new to me. I wish I could keep up...my mind knows what is going on, but my feet don't seem to understand. But the class was still incredibly enjoyable. My teacher, Miss Katherine, is so full of energy and so incredibly patient with all levels. We learned new things each week of the 7 week long class. This was not in an intimidating fashion. She built each week and broke down the steps. She would teach the basic step then offer a variation or two for those who can actually control their body and limbs! Lol. After sitting at a desk all week, this really does make me use my brain in a whole new way. I think it's super healthy, but this is not an exercise class. It's no jazzercise. You gotta tap, or attempt. All in all, 2 thumbs up. I hope to make it back in the fall. Great job! I would go 5 stars if I had other recent experiences to relate it to! read more

Our daughter, now almost 6, has been taking dance classes at studio a for about 2 1/2 yrs now - she loves the classes and we find the teachers enthusiastic. Dance classes at studio a have help to build our daughter's self esteem and coordination.
