I brought in a highly-rated dashcam for installation, but they refused, offering only a $600 option. They assured me it had the blindside function I needed. The appointment was set for a week later and estimated to take 4 hours. We dropped the car off on Friday morning, and they called 4.5 hours later saying it was ready. When we arrived at 2 PM, it wasn't. The unit turned off with the ignition. After another 3-hour wait, they fixed it by correcting the fuse connection. However, the lens was installed upside down, showing the unit wasn't quality checked. By 4 PM, I took the car with the condition of testing it. An hour later, I called back--the rear camera's view was obstructed by defroster and antenna lines, and the side views only showed the cab. They agreed to move the rear camera outside, but this caused another problem: the gridlines during reverse were a foot off, making parking inaccurate. In the end, I was left with a unit that didn't cover blind spots or back up properly. The $600 dashcam wasn't suitable for my car and shouldn't have been recommended. It seemed they only offered this unit without considering its compatibility with my vehicle. I was told if I wanted those features, I needed to pay for the $1300 version. Their next appt. to remove the device was made 2 weeks out. At that time they refunded the mirror, but not the $400 labor. I cannot in good faith recommend their expertise regarding the products they sell, the labor quality or the salesman tactics of this establishment. Their level of professionalism only lies within their current structure - anything outside the box just "costs more". read more

I did a self-install for camera and head unit in 2006 4Runner. The head unit could never receive a camera signal. Multiple attempts at soldering and still no signal. Finally resigned myself to professional help. The guys at 919 Motoring were great. They understood my situation and quickly got me scheduled and promptly fixed my issue. A big plus is they did not bust my chops for buying a cheap-ish head unit, camera and screwing up the installation. (Turns out the wire was bad, and all my attempts were in vain.) My dad took my car in because my stereo had lost a lot of quality and was only playing some light treble tones. He called the day of and they were able to take him that afternoon, and even finished the job when it turned out to be a lot bigger than previously thought - the console unit needed replaced as well as all the speakers that were blown. I am very impressed with the new system which was a fair price and perfectly installed, and sounds great! They even fixed up my passenger side window switch which has been broken for years, which was a really nice additional service. Shaun recently installed a back up camera and rear sensors in my 6 yo Scion TC. Due to my low mileage and no payments I was eager to add those features versus buying. He also replaced my factory radio/CD player with a Sony screen. I love the Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay features plus the barely noticeable microphone near the rear view mirror. It is also connected to my steering wheel controls. The rear sensors take the most time as the bumper has to be removed and the sensor heads are painted at a body shop to match the car. I went to 919 motoring after receiving a referral from a friend. I needed (wanted) bluetooth capabilities in my car, shortly after hubs got a new car with it. It just seemed like I was really behind the time without it, plus I am a major car talker, and have been known to have arm/elbow aches from holding the phone too long. Totally true, by the way. I also work out of my car a ton and so it is something that would be super convenient. I went in and talked with Shawn about what I wanted, he showed me some options and I quickly realized that I also wanted the dashboard console to have my navigation system along side the bluetooth/phone options. We decided on an Alpine system and scheduled for it to be installed that following weekend. I dropped my car off, and when I came back to pick it up, my car was MUCH smarter than it was when I dropped it off. Not only do I now have the navigation and bluetooth system, it is where my old stereo was and it is this sleak flat screen panel that is really good looking. I also have pandora bluetooth which feeds from my phone, and the sound in my car never sounded better, and I have factory speakers! Shaun installed a backup camera on our 2008 Ridgeline. What a difference that makes! We're both delighted with the visibility that it gives when backing up, and with the clean installation. When there was some difficulty getting a good fit with the mirror mount (Honda sometimes uses this weird twist-on-twist-off mounting system), Shaun kept working with the system manufacturer until we had an adapter that gave us a solid mount. I was shopping for days online for an affordable way to connect my smartphone to the audio speakers in my 2009 Nissan so when I travel I can use my phone GPS and listen to Pandora and Tunein Radio. Like Terry W. I was looking for a way to connect an iPod to a factory radio. After being told it couldn't even be done by several places (one time AFTER dropping off my truck!), I found 919 Motoring. I'm a busy guy so I emailed them at like 11PM. I got an answer back right away (that in itself is unusual) and a great price. It's an easy install they did it while I waited and explained everything. That was in 2009. Fast forward to yesterday. After some user error (repeated slamming of the cable in the truck door ;-) I needed a new unit. Went to them to get a sub woofer installed. Staff was professional, but apparently they have a blanket policy that they will not install used hardware. There is nothing wrong with the sub, just wanted it in my current car. The blanket policy seems rather odd considering they don't seem to have much hardware in the showroom, but is perhaps standard for this kind of place.
