When I visited the dealership and checked out the 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback, I requested to take the car to my 3rd-party mechanic to get a second opinion and Jay had no issues whatsoever letting me test drive the car and drive it over to the mechanic by myself. I got the thumbs-up from my guy and he said everything looked great under the hood and I drove back to Karland Motors and we started talking numbers, Jay was very transparent during the process and called multiple credit unions trying to get me the best interest rate and lowest monthly payment...Since he knew this was my first car-buying experience he made sure I was explained everything thoroughly and gave me good advice along the way. Karland Motors doesn't tack on ANY unnecessary fees (besides the obvious sales tax, registration fee w/ DMV, $85 document fee, $29 title transfer, $60 emissions test). They don't push any hidden dealer warranty's, "mandatory" anti-theft device charges, market adjustment fees, prep fees, no B.S.....When I returned the next morning to pick up my car, it was washed, had a full tank of gas, oil changed and smogged!

It came out…read moreabsolutely amazing that's why I chose to use him for this sentimental restoration of a vintage carousel horse off the original Merry-Go-Round on the Santa Monica Pier. Carlos gave me the idea to paint it black with white feet and a white stripe on its nose. My house is black and white so it seemed like it would be a perfect fit he also knew that it would work well with the colors of the house. He sprayed all but the saddle with an amazing gloss black and hand-painted the feet and face and then his sister Joanna went absolutely bonkers with a free hand acrylic paint. I've attached pictures of my vision with my wife's favorite Swatch watch and she went to work. I am absolutely blown away by the results. You truly have to look through all the pictures to realize how it transformed into something that I can't even describe in words. They made it truly one of the greatest gifts I've ever given my wife and she is over the moon! Could not recommend them more for all of your automotive needs and he gladly takes on special projects like this. The pictures speak for themselves. Then to top it off a couple of his workers and his sister came over and helped me set it up on the porch it is very heavy and I definitely needed their help. Also he did it at a very fair price and I offered more than he charged just because they totally deserved it. Very accommodating and very professional and so chill to work with. I contacted Carlos and he said just to come on over when I get a chance. Now , it is about a 45 minute to an hour drive from my house, but out of all the AutoBody places that I've ever been to - I trust Carlos above all the other ones so that's why I don't mind making the drive. He's quite fair with pricing and he and his team are fast! Like crazy fast! Plus, he's a very friendly , chill guy AND he served our country so A++ all around! I confirmed the listing before heading down because I didn't want to waste a trip. When I arrived, I was told the vehicle wasn't actually available. Not only that, but the "new" Odyssey was supposedly a loaner vehicle that was still on the way from Honda and wouldn't even be available for another 60 days. That's not what was advertised. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic -- advertise an aggressive price to drive clicks and get people in the door, only to tell them the car isn't really available once they show up. Driving two hours based on inaccurate information is incredibly frustrating and a waste of time. If you're shopping from out of town, I'd strongly recommend getting written confirmation with a VIN and verifying that the vehicle is physically on the lot before making the drive. I wish I had. The owners and workers all had a great relationship and there was absolutely no pressure or tactics used to sell cars. My friend ended up buying the car and I myself bought one as well even though I had no plans to as I enjoyed the way they do business and they had a car on the lot in great shape with low miles that replaced what I currently had. The entire process was easy and they took care of all of the paperwork. Honestly, it didn't even occur to me to check because you just assume they worked fine. They were very gracious and offered to replace and fix the issues at a fraction of what it cost me. I think this is extremely generous considering the car was bought "As-is" and they had no responsibility to fix it after I drove it off the lot. I think it speaks volumes of how Don wants his customers to perceive their experience at his dealership and knows that it's a small investment for a continuing relationship. I will definitely keep them in mind in the future should I need another car!
