They were really professional and patient…read more As a preface: I purchased a Kia over the course of a week (after purchasing an independent mechanic, and getting the finance from a CU). I'm sure these things go by a lot quicker, but I wasn't rushed at all. The car was great, mechanic signed off on virtually everything, and the minute things that had issues were already pre-discussed. There was a missing tire compressor, but that was ordered and given to me at no charge. I don't have much experience dealing with dealers, but these guys were a cut above the rest!

They claim the dent isn't visible in my photo and still charged me for it. My photo is from a distance and with shade, the dent is a bit hard to see but I can see there is a vertical line minor dent from this photo. They make you pay for pre existing damages. This car already had scratches all over on the left front corner. This is old car with 50k plus mileage with signs of accident where the dent was. The photo we took was too distant to show the dent clearly and I could see it but they claimed they could not. It is a scam.

I had a great experience with Jay at Karland Motors in Garden Grove, CA. Prior to checking the car…read moreout, he was very good with communication through texts. When I visited the dealership and checked out the 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback, I requested to take the car to my 3rd-party mechanic to get a second opinion and Jay had no issues whatsoever letting me test drive the car and drive it over to the mechanic by myself. I got the thumbs-up from my guy and he said everything looked great under the hood and I drove back to Karland Motors and we started talking numbers, Jay was very transparent during the process and called multiple credit unions trying to get me the best interest rate and lowest monthly payment...Since he knew this was my first car-buying experience he made sure I was explained everything thoroughly and gave me good advice along the way. Karland Motors doesn't tack on ANY unnecessary fees (besides the obvious sales tax, registration fee w/ DMV, $85 document fee, $29 title transfer, $60 emissions test). They don't push any hidden dealer warranty's, "mandatory" anti-theft device charges, market adjustment fees, prep fees, no B.S.....When I returned the next morning to pick up my car, it was washed, had a full tank of gas, oil changed and smogged!

I had one of the worst dealership experiences here, and it all came down to the finance department…read more The salesperson and I agreed on a price of $16,600, and I spent hours at the dealership providing my personal information and allowing them to run my credit. After all of that, the finance manager came in and told me that the agreement I had with the salesperson "wasn't a deal" because it wasn't on paper. Apparently, their word means nothing unless it's already signed. To make matters worse, I was already paying about $4,000 more than a very similar cargo van at the dealership next door. The salesperson convinced me to buy this one instead because they said they'd take care of a mechanical issue with the van. Once the finance manager got involved, she said they weren't going to fix it. The entire negotiation fell apart over roughly $400. Instead of trying to earn my business, I was told they weren't going to "bend over backwards" for me and that if I didn't like it, I could go buy the other van. That's exactly what I ended up doing. There were also several charges and explanations that raised red flags. I was told the lender required a pre-installed GPS, which they wanted to charge me $900 for. Then I was told that if I used one of their lenders, the vehicle price would increase because the lender charges them a fee. I've financed vehicles before and had never encountered those explanations. The finance manager's attitude made the situation even worse. Instead of listening or trying to work toward a solution, she was dismissive, argumentative, and repeatedly contradicted what had already been discussed with the salesperson. At one point, I was made to feel like I wasn't a serious buyer despite spending hours there, providing all my information, and allowing a hard credit inquiry. The salesperson actually had the deal moving in the right direction, but once finance took over, everything unraveled. I left feeling like my time had been wasted. There are plenty of dealerships in the area competing for your business. If you're looking for transparency, respect, and consistency, I'd recommend shopping around before committing to this one.

Before you read my review - keep these things in mind: #1 -…read moreNo is forcing you to buy a car #2 - Due diligence is always your responsibility - Do a pre-purchase inspection #3 - This dealership, like every other used car dealership - is selling USED cars - they can't disclose every single thing that the car went through and there are no guarantees - it's an implicit risk of buying used (especially older) That being said, I had a very good experience with my purchase at Hi Auto Sales. I bought a used 2006 Toyota Tundra with ~$141K miles. Just a tip for anyone who is buying a car that old - you're going to spend more money to get it up to speed - things wear out no matter what with time. Don and his wife Leyna are a wonderful duo - Don clearly takes a lot of pride in the way he runs his business and Leyna is bright, easy to communicate with and very personable. After purchasing the car, I had noticed issues with the rear door lock actuators and brought it up to Don and Leyna. Honestly, it didn't even occur to me to check because you just assume they worked fine. They were very gracious and offered to replace and fix the issues at a fraction of what it cost me. I think this is extremely generous considering the car was bought "As-is" and they had no responsibility to fix it after I drove it off the lot. I think it speaks volumes of how Don wants his customers to perceive their experience at his dealership and knows that it's a small investment for a continuing relationship. This review is NOT intended to advertise or promise anything on their behalf, but my experience with them was great and they definitely earned this 5 start review. I will definitely keep them in mind in the future should I need another car!

The owners and workers all had a great relationship and there was absolutely no pressure or tactics used to sell cars. The entire process was easy and they took care of all of the paperwork. Probably the quickest transaction I've done at any car dealer including the big guys and we bought two cars at the same time on separate transactions. Highly recommend to anyone looking to buy a reliable used car from a reputable and honest local business.
