I checked in and the receptionist (owner?) called a male name. not an issue. Many of my favorite nail technicians have been male. My technician was older and spoke no English. He did not ask how I wanted my nails shaped, just cut and filed my standard squarish nails into ovals. He hacked at my cuticles painfully and filed roughly. When the time came to choose a nail color, they give you a book of their colors that are put on fake nails. In practice, however, each of the colors is dramatically lighter than represented on the chart. I rejected two choices after samples were put on one nail and chose a third that looked like a neutral beige. It wasn't, it was almost white. The polish was thick, the man's hand shook as he put it on...it was like spackle. At this point, I had to keep myself from screaming in frustration, first because talking to him was pointless and second I was already resigned to having to go home and remove the ghastly color and thick, sloppy application. What a disappointment and what a waste of time and money. I won't go back.

We got two luxury pedicures and were treated to a luxurious hour long treatment with multiple stages of massage, oil, scrub, and lotions. What a lovely treatment on a Sunday. The two technicians took their time doing our pedicures, which was nice since most of the time it can feel rushed in other spas at times. I also have a ton of cuticles that have dried out and are bleeding -- not something I've ever experienced in my 15 years of monthly manucures. Very, very expensive and not worth it.

Unfortunately after 2 days my left big toe swelled to twice its size. I went to urgent care and was diagnosed with a staff infection! This required a topical analgesic and an oral antibiotic. I left a message for the salon but received zero follow up. Beware they clearly are not properly sterilizing equipment between uses.
