I was nearby and witnessed the whole thing and I asked my son what happened. He said I was just trying to find the price. I saw the girl trying to see if the box was open and of course it wasn't. The Saffron Pistachios and Lemon roasted Almonds are particularly my favorite lol. Ben is incredibly friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even better. It's hard to find local markets that still feel this welcoming and take pride in what they offer. You can tell there's real attention paid to the quality of the products, and it never feels like you're just another customer walking through the door. Whether you're stopping in for one item or doing a larger shop, there's a genuine neighborhood feel that makes people want to come back. Places like this are becoming harder to find, especially when so many stores feel impersonal these days. Star Market has managed to keep that balance of great selection, quality products, and customer service that feels authentic rather than forced. It's clear that Ben cares about the store, what he stocks, and the experience customers have when they walk in. It's the kind of neighborhood market that earns repeat customers because of both the quality and the people behind it. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

The herbs are fresh, the ingredients feel alive, and everything supports cooking in a way that's actually nourishing, not overly processed. What I appreciate is that it stays true to Persian food without watering it down. You can come in for something simple or build out a full meal, and either way it aligns with eating clean while still having depth and flavor. The bread, the produce, even the prepared foods -- it all feels like it's made to be eaten, not just displayed. There's a real sense of care behind it. For me, it's a staple because it fits into how I live -- whole foods, high quality, and still connected to culture. Not many places balance that well. If you care about what you're putting into your body but still want food that actually has identity, this is it.

I have never left a Marshall's crying, especially not on my literal 30th birthday…read more I took the day off of work today for my birthday, and decided to spend the day at Marshall's. I spent three hours meticulously looking for all of the 50% off holiday items. At one point a staff brought a huge cart of holiday candles to restock the Christmas section so I directly took from her cart. At checkout I was told 2/3 of my items were NOT part of the holiday section. I pleaded that there are snowflakes on the lip balm, the palmers lotion said HOLIDAY GIFT SET, and the names of the scents of the candles to which I was told no. A manager and another staff came over to say ok to the lip balm once she saw the snowflake. Then validated her and said she's right these are just red candles it's a no. I one by one picked them up and pleaded "mistletoe noir isn't holiday?" She said ok fine you can have that one. I literally said wow I didn't realize I needed to negotiate and try to convince you for each of these?! As I went and read the names of these candles. She said you don't need to convince me I just didn't read the bottom were really busy. I said then why are saying no before looking?! (Mind you I come here often, there was no one in line, normally line is around the isle and I wait 20min) she stormed away. The way she talked to me was so beyond unacceptable and mean. NO apology for telling me no when not checking. I told the cashier I'm so beyond upset right now this is not how I wanted to feel on my birthday. Moral of the story Barbara didn't let me take many of the candles I am certain were holiday, ultimately I literally got on my car and started sobbing. What a crazy way to spend my day off, and my birthday. Ultimately while Barbara was extremely rude, the ultimate problem is that the items should be in the system as holiday or not instead of letting staff debate with customers. Please change the holiday system for the future, thank you.
