What really stood out was how she took the time to explain the specific traits and characteristics of our dog's breed and personality. That insight alone helped us understand our dog on a completely different level. Her training techniques were clear, effective, and easy to apply at home even though we only have few sessions. Instead of just telling us what to do, she explained why certain methods work, which made a huge difference in how consistent and confident we felt during training. You can tell she genuinely cares--not just about training the dog, but about making sure the owners are set up for long-term success. The guidance she provided has made everyday interactions with our dog so much smoother. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and effective dog trainer. Thank you Dory! Will see you soon.

We found Dory through recommendations by friends and started working with her with private lessons. For us, this was the best way to begin. Dory did a GREAT job training Stitch and me on how to be a better dog and dog person. After we completed our private lessons, she invited us to observe one of her group classes. After his initial vocalizations, I applied the techniques Dory taught me to get him to settle down. In no time he was quietly sitting and watching, and NOT barking. Near the end of her class, she invited me to walk Stitch around the group and NOTHING! We were ALL amazed! I'm looking forward to continue OUR training with Dory by taking her group classes. If you want to improve your (and your dog's) training, you won't go wrong by going with Dory.

They had a fight in the morning and a second one in the evening. The dogs were left unattended, together during day play. The "handlers" apparently blew the airhorns to get the other dog to stop attacking my dog, that didn't work so then ran to get Adam. What if he wasn't there? My dog would probably not be here today. My dog and the other dog were put back together later the same day, which does not make any sense to anyone with a functioning brain. I didn't know the extent of my dogs injuries due to the attack. Adam tried to negotiate with me to pay the vet bill from his vet even before me being able to see my dog. MY DOG GOT ATTACKED DUE TO YOUR NEGLIGENCE. He offered to give me a free week if I paid $500-600 for the vet bill. Just goes to show you how absolutely money hungry he is and what he's willing to put at risk ( YOUR DOG). I took my dog to our regular vet that Thursday and he had to have 2 drains surgically put into his leg to let it drain and keep swelling down. Not once did Adam apologize for what happened. Not once did he express any compassion or sympathy. That's when I realized it's all just money for him. You and your dog are just another dollar sign to him. This is just a warning for those of you thinking of coming here. He hires people off the street who have 0 dog training or experience with handling dogs to work for him. He is an extremely rough handler, i've watched him myself. The things that are done to your dog when no one is watching makes my blood boil. Please think twice about what may happen to your pup while in their care. My dog paid the price, don't let yours also. We've had a long 3 years of recovery for my dog to be able to trust other people and dogs again. He will never be the dog that he was before because of Adam and Obedient Paws. Please, if you love your dog, don't walk, RUN far away from this place and this man. You will be doing your dog the greatest service.

There wasn't much discussion online and I agreed to the in-person meeting in Norfolk (I can't remember the trainer's name but I assume they used her for their sign). I wasn't aware of the ($150 hr training fee) and did the assessment. The assessment was roughly 30 questions about how I interact with my dog daily. Things like, what's my daily activity level? They were questions that seemed open-ended and expected long answers. During the assessment there was zero training with the dog, just me answering questions about my dog. It didn't take an hour at all (30 minutes max) and some of that was me being presented with different training packages. I was offered 1-year packages ranging from 3-5 thousand dollars -- I declined. So then I was told about the $150 assessment fee and I was puzzled. I said it was only 30 minutes, in which she said I could pay half. So I paid $75 for a 30-minute question session about my dog. I wasn't sure if this was a common practice so I just went ahead and paid it. This was a complete waste of time and I hope to warn others so they don't make a similar mistake as well.

Where do I start... I contacted this agency to have my dog…read moretrained as a service dog. About a month went by and I was told by a trainer that she no longer worked for the company and she would set me up with another trainer...that never happened. I emailed a few weeks later and was told by the owner's husband? son? that his mother (the head trainer) would contact me. We scheduled an introductory zoom meeting, which was $25 and mostly listened to the trainer talk about herself before asking about my dog. I should have listened to my gut instead. We scheduled a $200 evaluation which I paid for ahead of time. Training day rolled around and I realized I didn't have a direct way to contact her and she wasn't answering her emails, so I emailed her husband (business partner? ) but received a reply from her stating she would be conducting the training at my home. About 30 minutes before the training, I received a text message from her husband saying she was running late and considering it was already late in the day, I asked if we could reschedule and if I could have the trainer's (his wife's) contact information. He told me that was not possible and that he would have to wait to get her approval. I told him I felt really uncomfortable with the situation and would like to be refunded as well. He said he would have to wait for her approval for the refund as well. I ended up having to dispute the transaction with my bank. I finally received a call from the owner and she offered to head out to me although she was still about thirty minutes away, and I declined. Instead of apologizing, in not so many words, she let me know that it was a privilege since she was coming to my home and that this "isn't going to work out." If someone is paying you $200 to be late, not to be able to reach you without a hassle, then I'm confused as to what the privilege is and it's definitely not going to work out. If you're working with people who have a disability and go on and on about all the theories you know and use, then you're first task should be to sensitive to their needs. Absolutely disappointed and would not recommend this business.

I asked why they had small dogs with the bigger dogs and was told "the small dogs are too rambunctious to be with the other small dogs." I was told that staff had to break up my dog and the small dog and she was put into a kennel for the rest of the day but the dogs had never gotten physical. I pick my dog up and she has scratches and bite marks on her tummy and no one had called and told me. I called them and they said that they had no idea but that my dog was still welcome to come back. Never coming back here again.
