We drop our 18 week old goldendoodle off for a two week board and train. We paid full price $1300. Looking through my website and speaking through email the understanding was that our puppy would receive training from a skilled professional to continuing work on basic commands and area of concern. We have been training 1:1 with a trainer weekly since October we started at roughly 10 weeks. Our ultimate goal is for this pup to be a service dog or skilled companion for our 10 year old daughter. Our trainer was been working on building the foundations for this. However we are very very aware that not every puppy has the temperament and traits needed for this! Our puppy was going to the board and train while we took a trip solely to keep up is current skills and work on some puppy nipping. I never asked or expected brandy to be training my dog for service work. When I drop him off I explained all of this again. She offered to take our puppy home and do some assessments. She gave me a lot of information, seemed very knowledgeable however she also questioned whether our current trainer was experienced and skilled. I took it in stride as I know that there are a lot of dogs being "passed off" as service dogs. However I explained very clearly we are very very aware that not every puppy has the ability to do service work I also explained that we were working on basic commands and some additional foundation things simple outing (target) and cues like touch. Again she offered to just do some basic assessment In regards to a dog having the potential to be a service dog. I said I understood and appreciated her opinion as a professional. I explained that we knew going into this he may not make the cut. She said she would come with me to pick up another puppy. I have invested time, love and I am committed to him regardless. After 40 minutes of listening to her essential slam our puppy I excused myself and went home to process everything. Like I said we know that every dog doesn't have the potential to be a service dog but what was concerning an alarming to me is the dog that she was explaining to me and the dog but he even said right in front of me at pick up was not our puppy. He was scared and frightened and shutting down. Once I got home, I bathed him( he was filthy) and got him settled, had a broken blood vessel in his right ey(never mentioned). I started thinking about everything and needed more information I Sent a email explaining that I appreciated her professional opinion that he will not make the cut as a service dog and I don't disagree or agree. I didn't send him there for service dog training, I sent him there for the basic commands and for the nipping. I explained that the puppy in front of me was a completely different dog then the one I dropped off. I shared with her that he had the broken blood vessel. I questioned why she never reached out to us early or if he was so terrified from the moment she started working with him as she stated. Ultimately, after several emails back-and-forth she had stopped responding. I've asked for a partial refund being that she was not able to do any training with him, as she has said he shut down. I feel like she should have done things a lot different and handled things much differently. However, I really never would've gotten on here and written in such a long review were given such a poor review had she done the right thing to resolve the issue. I have been nothing but kind and respectful to work through this with her. My dog now has so many behaviors and things going on that were never issues before. We are trying to get him back to where he was. I'm not accusing her abuse, I'm not accusing her of neglect. She may be a great trainer for certain dogs but she certainly was not a fit for our puppy and should've recognized that. She certainly should not have continued to push him and stress him so that he wouldn't reach the state that he was and when I picked him up. What was the most to be starting for me was that she couldn't recognize her concerns or hear us and take any responsibility for the way that things were handled or miss handled with communication. I suspect that she will likely respond to this review. I wish her nothing but the best it was not a good experience for us and I really just wish she would've done the right thing to resolve this. Our puppy will be okay, we will continue our training for him fully aware that service work may not be his calling.

The puppy class and puppy socialization was well worth it for my Great Dane. I couldn't imagine having a 100lb dog without it.

Very disappointed with our experience. We signed up for dog training for 2 dogs in May 25. We were…read morein Lander, WY from May-July and in a different part of WY from July-October. Since her business is posted as in Lander we thought that we would have alot of hands on meetings, but that was not the case. During the time period of May-July we had 2 zoom calls and she had sent out some handouts about rewarding dog treats and recall information. And that was it! She didnt reach out about their progress wasn't taking pride or and concern towards us as customers. At the end of October I reached back out about setting up another zoom call or anything st all but had no response. So I then asked if a refund was a possibility at all...and again, no response. I hate that we wasted over $1400.00 on literally nothing. The handouts that were provided, I could've gathered online. I'm not sure where the good reviews for her service came from but we did not receive anything good from this experience. I would spend my money on a different more reputable trainer.

I am impressed at her knowledge and grateful for her dedication - she even sent me a video with notes to show what I was doing well that helped my dog. She went out of her way to make time to meet up with me and match me with a similar dog-person pair so we could practice. She was ill for a while so the initial meeting took a while but it was worth the wait! My dog is doing great (and I still use all the lessons she taught us) and I can't recommend Christi enough! We are in a city now and having worked with other trainers, Christi is a hidden gem.
