Okay, really a 3-star place but because this was exactly what we were looking for to satisfy our…read moreramen craving while abroad, it gains an extra star. A disclaimer: I realize that I'm probably spoiled by the mass of ramen joints that are in the Bay Area. As a result, I judge ramen places pretty highly. The 3-star rating is not to say that the ramen was terrible, but it is certainly not ranked among the best. Tonkotsu Ramen. Usually when I think of tonkotsu, I think of a rich and flavorful broth, as tonkotsu is traditionally stewed from pork bones for hours and hours. This broth fell a bit short of flavorful. The noodles, pork, and toppings were delicious (I always appreciate a perfectly soft boiled egg), but the broth is really what makes or breaks a ramen to me. Kara Miso Ramen. For those who like a bit of spice with their ramen. Or maybe not a bit of spice? I'm usually a super wimp when it comes to spice, and the slightest hint will have me reaching for a glass of water to rinse it all out. This one didn't do too much for me. I felt a little bit of heat lingering on my tongue afterwards, but I was expecting a bigger kick. The meat on this bowl was also a little dried out. I can definitely see why this place would do well in this neighborhood; it fulfills a need that is missing, which is exactly why we ventured into Umamido. Great for an area that is slim on authentic ramen choices; not so great for someone who comes from an area that is saturated with ramen.

I surely will not recommend that place, don't worth the price, no taste (put the extra egg)…read more I could also talk about the disrespectul student staff...the only japanese vibe you will get is the Honda Motocompo they show in the front window (very nice).

Exceptional food and service!…read more I got spring rolls and bun bo hue, both with tofu. The bun bo hue was DELICIOUS - flavorful, not oily, right amount of spicy, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. It was a nice surprise to have a good authentic Vietnamese meal in Brussels that is better than New York City. If I lived here, I'd be a regular. It appears to be a husband and wife owned business - hubby runs the front and wifey runs the kitchen. It is made to order, so it takes some time for the food, but you won't mind after that first bite nom nom NOM.

Some of these dishes I haven't had since visiting Hanoi a few years ago. And boy did this bring me back. I could easily pack it all up and move to Hanoi. The people, the food, the countryside. Well considering how many Vietnamese places are in the Bay Area, this one in Brussels, is the one that rekindled the smells the tastes and ambiance of being in Hanoi, minus the miniature plastic tables and stools made for kids.) not phat ass American hynies) Nem oh Nem! Roasted pork, wrapped with sprouts scallions, carrots, and vermicelli over a rice wrapper then deep fried. Eaten wrapped in a bit of lettuce Thai basil dunked in fish sauce. Damn!!!!!!! Service a bit slow as there is only one guy for the whole shop. But man! 2 legit 2 quit!

You choose the way in which you want the noodle cooked and the proteins and they bring the food over to you. The tables also have various condiments and spices should you want any additional flavouring. My faves here are the fried noodles with duck or crispy chicken, and the noodle soup with duck! I think the fried noodles are tastier but sometimes it's fun to switch it up. It can also be a bit carb-heavy seeing as there isn't a ton of plain protein dishes (such as roast duck on its own) or vegetable dishes. Additionally, it's a bit of a steep price for a bowl of noodles but it's fun to go every once in a while especially when cravings hit. We haven't had problems with getting seating since they have plenty of it upstairs, some downstairs, and outside (when the weather is nice). They also accept credit card!

That means that even though they have some rice dishes on the menu, you order noodles. We were looking for soup after having a lot of Belgian fries and Belgian food. Good thing we came here and took a chance on them. We were seated pretty quickly and someone took our order within 5minutes or so. Our noodles came about 5 minutes after that. All in all pretty fast and they seemed fairly busy with most tables outside taken, the downstairs dining room full and seemed like the upstairs dining room busy also. The noodles were freshly made and hand stretched. The soup for our noodles were very hot which is always a good thing and the portion size huge for the money. This was a solid bowl of noodles, better then a lot of places back home in the la area where there are probably over 100+ restaurants that make these same noodles. For being in brussles very good. Check this place out.

We first tried to eat here on a Thursday evening, but when we arrived there was a 25-minute wait if you had not made a reservation. It was raining that day, so we opted to just find another place to eat. The following evening (Friday), we had a bit more time to prepare so we made a reservation with them at 6 p.m. The layout of the restaurant is somewhat unusual. You enter in a small space (which may have had a couple of tables at sidewalk-level, but I'm not sure). You then climb a half-flight of stairs up past a kitchen area to the main dining room. Here they had several tables along each wall extending towards the back, where they had an additional 2 - 3 tables. We sat in the back. If the weather is nice, they may have a couple of tables out on the sidewalk, but again I'm not certain of that. If anyone in your party is disabled, you may have a limited seating option. That wasn't an issue for us, though. Where we sat in the back, we got to watch them prepare the cocktails. The place was busy but our server kept checking on us. Our drinks came out fairly quickly. The entrees took a bit longer, but the timing was still reasonable. I got a noodle dish which was quite good. The portion was reasonable and I finished it. I think both the others in our party got soup-noodle combinations which they also liked. The place appeared to be a family-run business (potentially). The staff managed the crowd well. Though you need to plan ahead a bit, the meal here was worth it. If I were back in Brussels, I'd consider returning here for a meal.
