For €34.95* per person, you got an assortment of meats to choose from (beef, chicken, fish, prawns, pork, and lamb), and everything I had was very tasty. (I didn't eat everything as I don't like pork or lamb.) To be honest, I've been to other Brazilian steakhouses before and thought they were OK to pretty good, but Pampas was excellent! This is the first time I truly liked the food. In addition to the meats they bring to you on skewers, you also get an assortment of tapas. €34.95 is not cheap, but the quality of the food was excellent, and you don't leave hungry. *Per their website, they also offer an= vegetarian option for €21.90. I love meat, preferably lots of it, so when I noticed this 'rodizio' opening up in my…read moreneighbourhood, I was excited. Unfortunately, Pampas didn't live up to my expectations... We were served a plate with some veggies first, but since there wasn't anything special on it, we largely ignored it. A bit of a waste, really... Then we were offered some garlic bread. Usually I love garlic bread, but a mayo based garlic sauce instead of garlic butter? Methinks not! The chips and oven baked potato were quite disappointing as well. After a round of mushrooms, finally the meat arrived! We were quite early, so we were the only ones in the restaurant at first, but apparently that didn't keep them from grilling full size skewers. Since it is impossible to eat a whole skewer with just two persons, I was wondering how they could possibly control how thoroughly cooked a piece of meat would be. As it turned out, they couldn't: some pieces were extra-rare, others extremely well done. At first I thought it was just the Brazilian way of cooking specific kinds of meat, but when the same kind came back cooked completely differently, it was obvious they were just being very inconsistent. Apart from that, I got the feeling they were trying too hard to fill customers up with 'cheap stuff', just to save on meat. I don't mind paying a bit more for an all-you-can-eat restaurant if it offers more than just a buffet -- e.g. Chinese and Indian -- or one dish -- e.g. spare-ribs -- but this rodízio just doesn't deliver...

The wait-staff is friendly and the food was brought quickly and efficiently. As starters we all took different things. Empanadas, sausage, Iberico ham, chorizo, Japanese salmon tartar and some anti-pasti. They were really good quality and in my opinion good value for money. The side dishes with the main course on the other hand were so so. Really tiny not really well baked potato, fries that were average, some vegetables. The portobello mushrooms announced in the menu is in fact one mushroom upside down covered in molten cheese. Desert was a 'moelleux au chocolat' for two of us and apple tart with dulce de leche. Both were good but not great which brings me to the issue with this place. The local specialities served are really good quality but the dishes are all formulaic. The iberico ham is great for example but just thinly sliced on a wooden board. The chocolat brownie is left in the ramekin, not quite the right consistency, the apple tart is not home made. The other thing that didnt go right was that after serving the food the wait staff ignored us. Now I wouldnt mind but they placed the wine bottle out of reach! I would go back for the meat - it was great great quality.

We arrived at 18:30 for our reservation and were immediately seated. We enjoyed a pre dinner drink, salads, main course and two desserts for 79 euros! The main course meat plate was loaded with big chunks of steak and chicken ready to be skewered and dropped in the boiling hot broth. The meal also came with a large plate of fries. It was more than enough food for 2 and probably could have fed 3. We ordered the Creme brûlée and profiteroles for our dessert and both were large portions. The profiteroles had plenty of chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a sprinkling of nuts. The presentation was very nice. Other than a small language barrier issue with one of the staff who brought me an entire extra salad when all I wanted was the dressing, it was a lovely evening! The restaurant has a nice ambience and it's smallish but not so small where you would feel uncomfortable.
