Its not a place for cheap eats, but they do offer a somewhat wallet friendly 3 course prix fixe meal for 25€...sold! The dark interior is elegant and romatic, but not pretentious. We seemed to be the only English speaking table, everyone else was talking French, so Carnivore seems to be a true local favorite. I chose the crispy fried shrimp as a starter, no disappointment there. The grilled half lobster main course was seafood perfection: hot, moist and succulent. My BFF got the rosemary & pepper pork chop, which I stole a bite of and found it pure tender tastiness. All mains came with a savory serving of Belgian frites and grilled skewer of veggies. The cool and creamy lemon panacotta dessert made for a perfect climax to the extraordinary meal...shrimp, lobster, frites, and panacotta for 25€: I'm happy. If you're sick of European food, or just want a refined American style dinner, eat at Carnivore Charcoal Grill...though we had a vegetarian in our party...that might have been insensitive on our part. Oh well!

The sides were way below average and under seasoned. It has the feel of a city restaurant that only survives from big brand hotel concierge "recommendations". On the plus side they did have a decent wine list.

For €34.95* per person, you got an assortment of meats to choose from (beef, chicken, fish, prawns, pork, and lamb), and everything I had was very tasty. (I didn't eat everything as I don't like pork or lamb.) To be honest, I've been to other Brazilian steakhouses before and thought they were OK to pretty good, but Pampas was excellent! This is the first time I truly liked the food. In addition to the meats they bring to you on skewers, you also get an assortment of tapas. €34.95 is not cheap, but the quality of the food was excellent, and you don't leave hungry. *Per their website, they also offer an= vegetarian option for €21.90. I love meat, preferably lots of it, so when I noticed this 'rodizio' opening up in my…read moreneighbourhood, I was excited. Unfortunately, Pampas didn't live up to my expectations... We were served a plate with some veggies first, but since there wasn't anything special on it, we largely ignored it. A bit of a waste, really... Then we were offered some garlic bread. Usually I love garlic bread, but a mayo based garlic sauce instead of garlic butter? Methinks not! The chips and oven baked potato were quite disappointing as well. After a round of mushrooms, finally the meat arrived! We were quite early, so we were the only ones in the restaurant at first, but apparently that didn't keep them from grilling full size skewers. Since it is impossible to eat a whole skewer with just two persons, I was wondering how they could possibly control how thoroughly cooked a piece of meat would be. As it turned out, they couldn't: some pieces were extra-rare, others extremely well done. At first I thought it was just the Brazilian way of cooking specific kinds of meat, but when the same kind came back cooked completely differently, it was obvious they were just being very inconsistent. Apart from that, I got the feeling they were trying too hard to fill customers up with 'cheap stuff', just to save on meat. I don't mind paying a bit more for an all-you-can-eat restaurant if it offers more than just a buffet -- e.g. Chinese and Indian -- or one dish -- e.g. spare-ribs -- but this rodízio just doesn't deliver...

The service was excellent. You can tell they have a higher level of professionalism. They served some bread with one of the best butters I have tried. I guiltily finished off the complementary bread and asked for more. They have an extensive list of wines, beers, and spirits. The server recommended Jungle Joy by the Brussels Beer Project. It was great! Of course I got the Tomahawk to share. Then I also split a lunch set menu, which came with salad and mussels. The salad was very refreshing and tasty. The mussels was such a large portion and tasted very fresh. It came with fries, which I loved! The kitchen cut our steak for us and served us salad on separate plates. That was very helpful! This lunch for two cost 81 euros without tip and tax. You wouldn't find this gem of a restaurant with this level of service and quality of food in Los Angeles.

The best bonus is the omelette station or eggs made to order. Those were so good and customizable. They also had some waffle irons. Amazing location, room, breakfast, and M Club…read more We started our recent tour of Christmas Markets in Brussels and were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful and convenient this hotel was. Our room was large by European standards, quite comfortable, and well equipped. And the service at the front desk, the restaurant, and the M Club was quite good. As Titanium guests, the very tasty breakfast was complimentary and the M Club a lovely refuge w/coffee, beverages, and snacks available 24/7 and in the evening alcohol and light bites including fresh waffles (note that the hotel resolved the issue of a previous reviewer and you now need the correct key card access). Old Town is a delightful pedestrian friendly village within Brussels with many wonderful sights, restaurants, shops that we loved to explore...not to mention the Grand Place and Christmas markets. And the Brussels North train station was a short walk away from which we took a very pleasant train ride to Bruges (I heartily recommend both the train and the town). There were always taxis right outside the hotel - one day we visited the Atomium/World's Fair area and on departure we took one to the TGV at Brussels Midi (since we had luggage). All in all we were quite thrilled with our stay at the Marriott Grand Place.
