Do not waste (and I truly mean WASTE) your time going to this establishment for anything. I purchased a new (used) car that needed a new FOB, and called them on a Thursday asking if they can accommodate me. They said they could, but had to order the key - fair enough. Due to my schedule, I couldn't go there until the following Saturday (nine days later) and made an appointment for 10am. I walk in at 10am, hand the person my key, they go out to my car and then come back to tell me they ordered the wrong key, but they could reorder and it would be here the following Tuesday. Amazing. I told them, "No, I'll go somewhere else" and they didn't say a word. Didn't try to retain me, didn't offer a fifty cent discount or even a cold Sausage McMuffin with egg, nothing. Zero. Not even a free cheap duplicate as some kind of peace offering. Nothing. Yeah, I won't be making that follow up appointment due to their mistake at my cost. Fool me once, shame on you and thank you for wasting my time and gas. Fool me twice? Well, then I deserve it. read more

Needed one spare hide-a-key for each of two cars. Told them "nothing special, not ignition if they are coded, just for the doors". 10 minutes later, out comes two keys. Exactly what I wanted. "That will be $32" Sorry, what? "$15 each, they weren't coded keys anyway. These are just copies." So, if you want to spend $15 to get a "Non-special" key. Go for it. Key Harbor rocks! Had to go to Key Harbor yesterday to get a key made / programmed for a car I recently bought; the dealership had given me a faulty key that needed to be replaced. Made an appointment easily with Lizz over the phone to come in for the new key. Once I got there she didn't have the key I wanted in stock, but she said she was able to order it. While doing so she noticed that the fob that dealer had given me was missing a battery harness and she was able to fix it in less than a minute. Although she was able to fix the key the dealer had given me I had her order a new key anyway; it never hurts to have a spare. I enjoyed my experience with Key Harbor. They were very professional and knowledgeable and if I ever need a key again I'll certainly head back to Key Harbor. read more

Wow, Craig was awesome. I was locked out of the house and these fancy door locks if the battery goes dead and you don't have a master key, you're just out of luck. After at least 25 attempt, the door finally opened so I could go in but my lock wasn't working properly and didn't have a master key. "843Keys saved the day. " I had to purchase a new system which has the key option so if we have an EMP (hopefully Not) I can still get in the house without electricity concerns. The technician, Craig was very polite, considerate, and compassionate to my dilemma of what type of replacement would work best for me. He did a great job and cleaned everything up. The price was reasonable and their employee gave me excellent customer service and my day became so much brighter because he is such a great employee. That's unusual these days. Thank you. I've had two experiences with Key Harbor. The first was great. I needed a new key/fob combo for my Chevy that the key had fallen off of and was no longer usable. I made an appointment and was literally in and out in no time. My second experience however, is far from what I expected and will have me going else where from now on. I called there yesterday, spoke to a gentleman -Justin is his name I believe- and was given a quote of $55 for a new key fob for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Told me he would have to check availability and stated that they did not have any new fobs, but had a refurbished one. Send my son up there this morning for the key fob and he deals with Lizz. He is told that the key fob is going the be $125 for a new one or can be given a refurbished one for $75. My son, not knowing what to do, goes ahead and purchases the refurbished fob. When I find out the price difference, I call up there and speak to the same gentleman as I did yesterday and got told that he isn't sure where I got a quote for $55 from because they don't have any fobs in that range for a jeep. And then he tells me that yes he did give me that quote, but he was under the impression that I would be the one coming to get the fob, not my son. He dealt with me yesterday and my son dealt with Lizz so it's two totally different transactions. So I'm a little confused. Is the quote for $55 because I being a female got a "special" rate from him? Or does my 16 year old son get a different quote because he is a child and being taken advantage of because he doesn't think to question the price difference? So when I ask these things to Justin.. I get told that I was given a quote on an older style fob and that my son came in with a different model and again, it two different transactions because I was expected to come in today, not my son. Hmmm.. why wasn't this new/old fob price explained yesterday? I was only told one price on one kind of fob. Personally I don't care if it's an older model, newer model, or one dipped in gold- if you quote a price, don't come back less than 24 hours and give me every excuse in the world about why it's different. And then don't try and tell me that your under a new owner and there's been a lot of changes. At this rate.. y'all might need to start over again because clearly whatever y'all have going on now is not working out. Do better. At this day in age, your word means everything and when you can't get your words- or excuses- straight.. then what is the purpose of being a service to the public? read more
