Feb 2, 2026 we had a broken lock and could not access our residence…read more We called Charleston Locksmith, who arrived two hours later and said the lock was broken and would need to be drilled, which would cost $70, and that a basic deadbolt replacement would cost $180. I agreed to that. An hour later, my wife, who was still home, was told to send a Venmo payment of $578 directly to the technician there, his personal Venmo for David Aloni, for $578. I called the office on Feb 5 to inquire about why it was $328 more than he said it would be and that we agreed do. The woman on the phone said she would be happy to refund the "$125 service call fee." I then explained that we were charged $578 when he specifically got approval for $250. She did not have an answer other than, "This must have been materials and labor." The second time Troy came to our new Condo in Charleston and installed a new wifi enabled deadbolt.
