On my way home from I long day, I came across this place and decided to stop in. It was a Saturday night, which meant there was a $4 cover and it was line dancing night. I am always amazed at line dancing. The place is huge and has a pretty big parking lot with an over flow lot available as well. It you use you debit/credit card for anything here (bar tab, cover charge....) you will be assessed a $1 fee. The staff there was friendly enough, even though my interaction with them was limited. The place was very clean and had decent lighting for a bar. No country bar would be complete without a mechanical bull. This place in no exception. They have a bull that you can ride for an additional fee. The place has a very big dance floor in the middle, three bars (two were open while I was there), a stage, corn hole boards and an eatery (Rolyno's Pizza) that sells hot dogs, pizza, pretzels, sodas, and breadsticks. You will also find an outdoor patio out front that overlooks the parking lot. The drinks were reasonably priced, but there was always a long wait in line to get one. They were playing some real good music, a wide variety of country and hip-hop, and the line dancers really knew their stuff. I like this place. It had a mixed crowd, with the average age being about 30 or so. It is very spacious, with tons of room. It is defiantly a place to be on Friday and/or Saturday nights. Yeee haw!!!!! read more

This was such a fun place to bring some friends line dancing! We went on a line dancing specific night, so I cannot speak to any concerts here or any other type of "night." On a Saturday line dancing evening, this place had a good amount of people but the dance floor only got completely crowded two or three times during the night. Usually the dance floor was half full- about half of those people knew what they were doing in terms of line dancing and the other half were watching and doing their best. The people who knew what they were doing were very kind and helped those of us who were learning and watching. This made for a very fun and easy atmosphere for our group (about 8 of us). The bar was cheap and fast. We kept a tab open all night and were easily able to close it out by the end of the night. There was Cornhole in the back of the dance floor and we played that for a while. There was a punching bag game (2 plays for $1!) that kept our group entertained for a bit, but most fun was the mechanical bull! $5 for two rides is a steal and you choose easy, medium, or hard. The guy working it was very chill and nice and we all had a blast taking turns riding the mechanical bull. The line was not long. There is also a pizza place in here! Which was perfect after a couple hours of dancing and drinking. The pizza took about a half hour to get out, so plan for that, but once we got it it was very tasty. Venue is huge, drinks are cheap. The bartender was nice. My issue was the micro wrestling promotion they had there. We were under the impression we were going to see a legitimate wrestling show, not the equivalent of a old timey carnival freak show. The emcee made so many inane racist comments for the entire first match that involved a Cambodian character that we wound up leaving afterwards. I understand creating heat for the heel. This went far beyond that. Having a crowd of 99% white people (and 0% asian) chanting USA USA while you say things like "ching chong" and mimic bad asian accents is fucking gross. Don't know why i expected different but I guess that's what you get the second you venture outside of a blue dot in a red state. read more

Came to the 8 Seconds Saloon for a Lily Rose concert, and it's a cool little concert venue. Lots of options for country fans, multiple well-staffed bars throughout the place, and the seating for the concerts is actually a great setup. Leaves plenty of room for people to enjoy the show. My wife and I agreed that we should check out more concerts there because it isn't too far of a drive from Ohio. read more

On October 29, I visited 8 Seconds Saloon for a county music concert. Overall, I had a very positive experience. The venue was small enough that you could sit anywhere and have a good view of the artist. Before the concert there was plenty to do around the bar to keep busy. Since it was my first time going, I decided to walk around and check out what all 8 Seconds offered. There were multiple pool tables, a large dance floor, and the iconic mechanical bull. The bars were very quick with their service and I never had to wait more than five minutes for a drink. The bathrooms were also surprisingly clean as was the entire bar. I would highly recommend this bar to any country music fans or anyone that wants to visit a bar that downtown Indianapolis or Broad Ripple can't offer. read more

We came to Indiana for a business trip, and definitely wanted to go to a decent country bar. 8 Second Saloon would've been first on our last, BUT: -Their hours are wrong on their Google listing, so it just says they're closed... all the time. They're most likely open! -They don't keep their Instagram very up to date with events, advertising, specials. Etc. Luckily we came across this place on Yelp. :) We ended up catching the Kylie Morgan concert and tickets were only $5.00, so we upgraded to the $10 tickets for the high top tables & pit area. The venue is a cool setup with stuff to do in every direction. The music was a great volume and the systems sounded good! The lighting was perfect for those wanting to enjoy the concert and those just wanting to hang out at the bar. The ladies serving us were the absolute sweetest! They both had super curly hair & I wish I remembered their names, but they were personable, friendly & efficient. My reason for only 4 stars was the security. I've never been to a venue that didn't do a wand security check or a bag check. We've been to a lot of states & having that extra safety is totally assuring... They didn't ask to see what's in my bag & they literally just scanned our tickets. Our Uber driver on the way back to our hotel said the area wasn't the best, so that was even more shocking that they don't check... Other reason, they still charge $1.00 card fee per transaction. It's 2023... yes, we understand the system charges them to use it, so increase the price of your drinks, maybe. We had a blast! There was like nothing to do in Indiana when it came to nightlife(we're from California), so we were happy to find this spot! read more

This a fairly good sized venue - plenty of space on the dance floor for line dancing (which is good, especially for the more popular dances) and there's plenty of tables and/or seating if you just feel like sitting and watching. Attended a sold out show here as a 30+ year old parent and was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything went. I expected to feel like the oldest person there and that was definitely not the case. We also had a ticket situation come up in which the manager made it better than we expected. Despite what some of the random lower star reviews have said, I really enjoy it here. As far as it being "filthy & smelling bad" I've not run into these problems. If there is ever anything nasty as long as the staff is made aware of it they take care of it quickly. They don't know what they don't know so it's hard to leave a bad review because of that. But anyways. Food is good bar food it's not going to blow your pants off but great when you're there drinking & need a quick snack to get you through. Nice staff. I've never had issues with waiting a long time for a drink wether it was from a server or the bar. The line dancing is so fun the more you come the easier it is to learn the dances & have fun! read more

There is 1 reason I go to 8 Seconds Saloon: Jamey Johnson. He plays there every year, and it's a great venue to see someone perform up close. Tickets are very reasonable (around $40 for reserved seating). No complains about the price or quality of sound/performance. So...why 2 stars? 1) The headliner doesn't come on until 11pm. That's just too late. Maybe when I was 21 this was ok, but I've got shit to do in the morning and it usually involves a very long run. 2) At the most recent show I attended (March 2018), I was excited to see a sign in the restroom that read: now serving Elysian space Dust - ask for it at the bar! Super excited, I headed to the bar. Where I was met with a dumbfounded look and offered bud light or a blue moon. I paid my $4 for a blue moon, but I would have been happy to pay $6 for a space dust. Get with the 2018 millennial crowd. I'll forgive the start of the late shows if you give me something good to drink! read more

It smells awful, the floors are sticky and stained, the bathroom had dried up vomit in the stall walls and floor which probably haven't been mopped in 10 years. Just all around disgusting. Sure the concerts are great but the place is not safe to hang out. Within a couple hours of being here I was threatened by a total stranger who tried to physically assault me and was trying to look up the ladies dresses. Not to mention they don't have any cell service or Wi-Fi here so if you need to contact someone for help good luck. Also took me almost an hour of waiting in line just to get a drink. I won't be coming back despite the good music. I've been to many concerts and this was by far the most unwelcoming crowd. read more

Saw Sponge on a Friday and then Jackyl the next Friday (after T'Giving). The location is easy to get to right off of 465. Beer prices were decent and the pizza they have for sale is surprisingly good! Good place to see a show. The staff was friendly and the venue was clean. The sound was good and the stage well lit. I will definitely come back for shows although i had a couple things that were a concern. 1-there was no metal detector or search or anything as we entered. Yes, this would slow down the entry process, but I would have been more at ease with greater security scrutiny. 2-opening bands go on at 845pm and headliners at 1045pm. I looked at the 8 Seconds website and all of their shows are like this. I get it- a venue can sell ALOT of drinks when doors open at 7pm and shows begin 4 hours later. Jackyl went on at 11pm and ended at 1230am. When you live an hour away, that makes it tough. It is not a deal breaker but may/may not be a reason i do/do not go to a particular show in the future. read more

Excellent venue for concerts and for hanging out. I felt so at home here. Jeans and flannel shirts is the norm. I had a skirt and cowboy boots and felt a little overdressed (not bad though). Parking was easy. Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. This was my first visit and I'm so bummed I didn't discover this sooner. For a concert stage, it's incredibly intimate. I saw Granger Smith and felt like I had a front row seat (I sat at a VIP side table and had a great view). I'll be visiting this "hidden gem" much more now that I know how comfortable it is. read more

If you love line dancing this is the place for you! The biggest dance for in indy. And it is always full of people having a great time. They have concerts every Friday and Saturday. And they really bring in the big names. The service is outstanding and everyone is super friendly. Wednesday night is ladies night and the dance instructor is there to teach you a new dance every Wednesday. Plus your 2 free private professional lessons just for dancing at 8 seconds. And military gets in free. Except to concerts. Everyone is chill and just there to have a good time. Highly recommended! read more

Obviously this is my favorite saloon next to Billy Bobs in Texas. The dancing is always a blast and the music/concerts are affordable ($10-$25) with great seating. If you love to two step and line dance this is as good as it gets for me and my friends. We drive from Louisville a few times a year to enjoy 8 seconds. There's a small pizza place inside with good food. We ordered nachos $7 and the stuffed pepperoni breadsticks $6 and they were decent. They are open until at least 2 am. The girls that work there are incredibly rude but easily ignorable. This was my second time here for NYE. The first time in 2015 was better in terms of band choice but the dancing this year was far better. It's not fancy by any means but it's always good down home fun. read more

I too used to love 8 Seconds but I have seen the facility go severely downhill. The restrooms are positively filthy. Standing water, vomit, no soap (which is mandatory in that filth) toilets that don't flush....you get the picture. I really don't think the floor has been cleaned since it opened sine 20 plus years ago. I realize I'm old, but allowing drinks on the dance floor is a disaster. I get that this is a different time than when I was a regular (guard your drink for fear of drugs in it) but spilled drinks on the floor that never get mopped up is a disaster. Sticky and gross. Non smoking is nice but well, that's the law. Parking? Yes ample but DARK and in that area, good lighting is a must. Used to have bouncers walk ladies to their cars. Not anymore, run for your life! Advice to the management: clean it up or shut it down! There are nicer, cleaner places to dance in the area! You aren't the only show in town. You put Cowboys out of business many years ago, it may be time for your competition to put you out of business. read more

My friends and I LOVE THIS PLACE! Their drinks are so good and reasonably priced, they have the BEST BAR food their breadsticks are a must have. We've gone here a lot but have celebrated New Year's Eve here and it's been the best. I wanted to specifically show gratitude to the manager at 8 Seconds I wasn't able to catch his name. I asked him if a table wasn't claimed if we could take it and he said yeah and followed me to find the table to get my name on it and someone had already snagged it and instead of just saying "I'm sorry" he literally walked around trying to find us a table and eventually said let me go get one instead, and literally got us a table and chair from the back! He went out of his way to ensure we had a great set up and night! The staff there is amazing too, so much to do with bull riding, darts, pool, dancing, ect. They almost always have a live band and if they don't they have a DJ! They do charge $1 for card payments so I recommend bringing cash because that $1 charge for cards can rack up but 10/10 this place is so fun you have to go! read more

Classic Indianapolis go-to spot for up and coming country artists and the "country bar" scene. They partner with a local radio station to bring in up and coming talent and they do a very good job at it. They sell GA tickets as well as VIP standing area and tables with seats. They're also a line dance bar with a large dance floor. Wednesday nights they're open as well and teach only ONE line dance lesson a night. Beware of the regulars, they are hardcore dancers and if you get in their way when you are learning, they will let you know. Don't let that make you not want to go here though. It's a fun place, full of fun times, with food, booze, multiple bars, a mechanical bull, and pool tables. A taste of Indy for sure, and if you're ever in the area, it is worth a visit. read more

Lots of regulars drive an hour or more to get here for good reason. Huge dance floor that's great if you want to dance a different version or partner dance. I'm shocked that this place doesn't have more reviews! Seriously befuddled. Ah well, I'll post my opinion to make up for it :-) So... I love country music and country bars. If I could transplant my whole life to Nashville, TN that would be ideal. I grew up in a small town listening to country music.. like so many of us in the good ole heartland and there's just something about 8 Seconds Saloon that feels like home. Also, line dancing is really freaking fun. I've been to 8 Seconds on several occasions. Sometimes I go just to line dance and other times I go because I'm going to see a semi-famous country singer. I love the Hank FM concerts that they have on Friday nights. A couple times a month you can pay ~$15 to see a decently good act perform. The concerts run pretty late... at least till midnight.. so you get your money's worth. The venue is huge with ample, well-lit parking (and sometimes there's a man in a golf cart that will drive you from your car to the front door). Standard drinks... wouldn't say they're great prices. Haven't had the food, so no opinion on that although just from the looks of it, it doesn't look that appetizing. The line dancing though.. that's where it's at. How fun!! There are some pros there who you can watch and will help you learn the ropes. The dance floor is rather large which is good because I like to have quite a bit of space when I'm doing the electric slide (which is the easiest and least fun of the dances that you'll learn). If you're looking for something fun, different, authentic and unique, I'd definitely recommend you breaking out your plaid shirt and cowboy boots and boot-scootin' over to 8 Seconds. If you're not a cowboy/country gurl, don't worry... you can still have fun. There's a wide range of people who frequent this place. read more

8 Seconds Saloon is a great live music venue for up and coming artists and artists at the end of their run who want to continue performing for their fans. I've seen the likes of Cole Swindell, Neil McCoy, Chase Rice and Dustin Lynch and stood within 20 feet of the stage every time! On nights there is no concert, it isn't really my scene. I love me some country music, but sorry, I don't have the free time for that line dancing mess. My only complaint isn't on the facility, it's on the people of Indianapolis. You greedy jerks. Don't gobble up all the tickets they graciously price at $10-25 to see these artists so you can make a quick buck on Craigslist princing them upwards of $100. That's pure evil and pathetic. Note to the owner: Make half the tickets available online and the other half you have to bring your butt to the box office to get the tickets. That could stop some of these rich business owners from ordering the max amounts to resale... read more

You might be scared at first, I was but it isn't so bad, go on in, you can do it... just order a drink and watch the the really drunk girls that are to big for their clothes or better yet the 'cowboys' ride the mechanical bull. If you walk to the back there is a hip-hop area, sectioned off from the line dancing, bull riding cowboy attired peeps. Its okay. I got hit on by a redneck (in the hip hop area) wearing a plaid shirt, cowboy hat, and a weird little skinny belt. If I remember correctly I think he said something like "I bet you can dance." There was definitely more to the conversation but I kinda tuned him out and let my friend Morggs take him from there... The music in the "Tremors" area was kind of old school with a mix of pop.
