It's been awhile since I've visited 8 bit bites. Went to a Manhattan location this time and this one is a bit on the small side but still has that awesome nostalgic vibe, great service from the guy that was at work. There was only one person there at the time I showed up so service was clearly no issue and even late 80's and 90's music playing in the background that really brought the aesthetic of this place home. Has my Smashburger regular which always hits and this spot was no different with 2 additions from their Summer menu. A Chicken and Bacon ranch wrap which was a delight though as good as all the food was, the MVP was the Orange Dreamsicle shake which I honestly hope they don't remove it despite it being a "limited time" item. Yeah my last experience with one of their shakes was mixed because the last one I had was iffy because of the cereal texture overpowering the shake, but this one was done RIGHT! There is the grainy cereal texture but it didn't overtake the shake as a whole so I was able to savor the whole shake in its thick, orangey goodness, it truly was a dream. Next time I'm thinking of coming around a little later, even if it means missing out on my usual lunch special just to hang around the place with more people in it. Felt a tad bit lonely eating my food by myself, though the dude who was working at the time, we engaged in a bit of small talk as he was playing TMNT IV: Turtles in Time on the Emustation near me when he was done taking orders, so I appreciate his brief company.

Food was cheap and tasted great, employees were SO NICE and I love everything about the concept of this place. What's not to love about old school video games?!? I got the single patty smash burger with fries. Fries taste like a thick chip that's seasoned to perfection.

Now I needed to try this Flying Dutchman burger and I'm glad they offered it. I've been wanting to go and see how this place operates especially since I'm a gamer myself. Now the customer service is great you definitely know the person helping you is not just there for the money but he loves games too. It's a gamers place which I love. The place itself was brightly lit and vibrant. The games and controllers were clean which I was worried about. They had that under control. Now the burger itself was very good. If you love onions which you should if you order this be particular burger then you will enjoy it. The taters was on point as well I enjoyed them. I will be back..

Perfect spot to take kids because it's all food they'll like, and obviously, there are video games to play at every table. The food is way better than it needs to be, including great fries, tots, chicken fingers and burgers. The draw is definitely the fun game systems though, which have nearly all the classic games you can think of to play. As long as there are free tables to play, this is a good time and an easy spot to eat with the family.

First this was not what I had ordered, I ordered churros with strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream and received this instead, on top of that it wasn't good ,I wasted $10 and had to throw it out.

I was surprised to find that it's a ghost kitchen. You walk behind the coffee shop and order from a kiosk with many other restaurants to order from as well. My order took 15 minutes and within the estimated time frame that they gave you. Once my order was ready, I clicked to open via text and the locker popped open with my bag --viola! I ordered the Claude the Claw ($18.99) with medium spicy sauce on the side. The sandwich is pretty huge. I like how they wrapped the sandwich around the claw sticking out from the bottom. I did take it out of the wrapper for the picture, but suggest you keep the wrapper on as it gets messy to eat. The spices and flavor is delicious and the chicken is crispy and tender. It's a great Nashville hot chicken sandwich overall. While the claw is insta-worthy, it's not quite worth the extra $4 (plus you can't really even eat it, so it's all for show). I'd suggest getting the claw for your first time, but I'd get the regular sandwich in the future for the lower price.

That said, the sandwich itself is great. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, and the spicy, smoky sauce complements it beautifully. It's a solid, flavorful sandwich that's definitely worth trying. You will need to decide for yourself if it lives up to the hype. A heads up, the place can be tricky to find. It's tucked inside a building behind the coffee shop that Google Maps directs you to, and seating is very limited.

I don't know how they make fried chicken so much better than the Colonel, but they do and it was amazing. The chicken pieces were large and it was so moist inside -while being exceptionally crunchy outside. The seasonings were fantastic, as were the sauces. One flavor I ordered was supposed to be a bit spicy but I couldn't tell it had any heat at all -but then I'm from TX. They've obviously adjusted to a New Yorkers spice tolerance. I also ordered white rice which was very sticky and easy to eat with chopsticks. It comes with a small side salad with a dressing so good I asked what it was. I tried the rolled egg. It was like an omelette but rolled and drizzled with ketchup and another sauce. Also delicious. The restaurant was very clean and the service was friendly and attentive. They provided plastic gloves and a bone bucket which I thought was a nice touch and it came in very handy. The restaurant is casual and reasonably priced. Especially for New York. I went here a while back to order lunch for takeout, and it was pretty good. After they opened, they added some specials ranging from $15 to $17, combining chicken with fries or dumplings, and I went with the sweet and spicy boneless chicken with standard fries, as you can also update the fries to the "spicy snow" version for an extra $1. The cashier was friendly. The sweet and spicy chicken is their version of Yangnyeom/양념치킨, and the combo came with a few moderately sized pieces. The breading was crispy, and the chicken inside was pretty tender. There was some sweetness, and it had a mild kick, though it wasn't as spicy as I prefer. The fries inside were OK. They had a good crisp to them and a good crunch, but needed a tad more salt. The fry portion was also much larger, so next time, I would just stick with the chicken. The free kimchi was standard and decent. This was a perfectly decent Korean chicken spot. If it were any closer to a Korean neighborhood, I doubt it would be doing well, but there is a distinct lack of Korean places nearby outside of the primarily takeout spot, which doesn't specialize at all in chicken. It fills a niche, and I would likely at some point stop in again to try their Korean chicken sandwich or their plain chicken to try more of their sauces.

ASK if you have questions. :) I've had the chicken wings, and the boneless fried chicken. I like the sauce choices, and the complimentary small container of kimchi . You need to ask for it if you want it. And, right there!! Boom!! That's a BENEFIT OF READING YELP REVIEWS. Right?!! :) That part of my take-out container that is open, is open for a reason--to keep the crunchiness of the chicken. If closed, the heat from the food would make it less crunchy. As if steaming it. So, the restaurant gives you your takeout container with one part open. Make sure it stays open. I still have to try the ramen, because I'm curious about the machine -see my photos--the machine helps you prepare your ramen sold in the colorful packaged ramen available in the shop. There is a MILD-SPICY-EXTRA SPICY. SELECTION. See my photos of the COLORFUL RAMEN WALL. There is seating available inside-about 6 tables.
