The coffee is good overall. They serve your iced coffee in a bag. Weird and not convenient. Service can be hit and miss. Sometimes you get a nice barista other times they act like you are putting them out. They need to get a grip on bean prices. They charge $44 for Puerto Rican beans. Yeah ok they are from PR but $44?? I won't be sending the husband to grab a bag of beans at 787 anytime soon (or ever again). read more

Only had an Americano and took the beans recommended by the barista: rum infused with hints of chocolate. Delicious! Added some milk and my "coffee bag" looked like everyone else's in the place. I thought the unique serving vessel was simply that, but as I sipped and watched people go by, I realized I was getting an infusion of caffeine. Brilliant! Good coffee but mixed service experience. I got the oat horchata latte ($8 + $1 milk upcharge) and it was good, although a bit lukewarm. My issue is that this is already an exceedingly expensive latte, but when I ordered, she tacked on an extra $3 upcharge for rum infused coffee. I didn't ask for nor want liquor infused coffee (especially early in the morning), and it's basically a 33% upcharge that would've applied if I didn't ask specifically for the breakdown and for them to remove it. Don't appreciate these sorts of tactics. On the bright side though their branding and decor is quite cute. read more

The coffee is delicious and their service is excellent but the prices are not cheap! I came here for the first time so I wanted to try their specialty lattes. The latte itself started at $7 and the barista convinced me to try one of their infused beans. I did not expect this to add an additional $3 to the bill. I enjoyed the latte but my wallet did hurt a little afterwards! I got the coquito latte which had actual pieces of coconut mixed into it. The latte was sweet and creamy while still having a strong coffee taste (and the much needed caffeine kick). Since the latte had so many other flavors going on, I did not taste the rum infusion in the beans and I don't think I'd be able to taste a difference if I got the same latte with normal beans. read more

I had the cortado as well as the cold brew with rum infused coffee beans which was totally new to me. Both were great but I preferred the cortado since there wasn't too much to drink (the cold brew was served in a huge bag and I was nervous about it toppling over so drank it in one go) and I also like my coffee diluted (I prefer drinking cortados, lattes, americanos). This was OK. The coffee wasn't anything to rave about, and the service left much to be desired. We came in when no one else was there, and were still not greeted by anyone. The best part about this coffee shop was that they put the iced coffees in a bag, think adult capri-sun. read more

The place is small but cute. I loved the variety of options and coffee types. The Latin inspired options were really unique and not widely seen in a lot of the coffee shops I frequent, so it was awesome to try some things I am familiar with as a Puerto Rican. First time here, and wow... $11 for a coffee? I know everything's expensive, especially in NYC, but $11 for a cup? I ordered an iced horchata latte, and the barista asked which coffee bean I wanted. There were three types right in front of the cashier, so it seemed like I had to choose from there. I didn't know there was a $3 upcharge for it. The barista recommended the Cinnamon Dark Chocolate Bean, which is less acidic, and when I paid, I was shocked to see it was $11. The receipt showed a $3 charge for selecting the beans. Is there no regular coffee option? The coffee came in a cool pouch, but the taste wasn't special enough to justify the price. First and foremost, it is ridiculously overpriced. $10 for an inconspicuous plastic bag of coffee...hmm...okay. Second, I don't know what "rum infused coffee beans" or "marzipan flavored coffee" they're using because all I tasted was plain coffee and a lot of sugar respectively. I hate writing bad reviews, I really do! I don't think I ever have before, and I've been to some really awful places in my life. But my experience here was genuinely so perplexing. I went in with my partner to grab a coffee! Reviews looked great, so I was happy to stop by. First thing I notice is the B health department rating, but hey, it's New York. I go in and order two small hot whole milk lattes - no extras. I am then asked by the person behind the counter to pick one of three beans - I selected whatever the first one was, and suddenly, 2 lattes came out to $18.00 total. I was a little confused why it was so expensive, and then the person behind the counter told me that the one I selected was a 3 dollar upcharge. A bit confusing, but hey, I get some businesses require you to upsell. But the way it was framed seemed mandatory. So, I asked if we could get one of the other ones that were not an upcharge, and the barista rang it in instead, without charging the price of the lattes. I completely understand that small businesses have to make money - for the past decade, I have worked at both family-owned and corporate coffee shops alike. However, it seems a bit predatory to not explain the upcharge system to your customers upon ordering. It pressures customers into an awkward situation where they have to ask why 2 regular coffees are so expensive. However, what truly frustrated me was - after this whole situation - one of the lattes was lukewarm, and the other was completely cold. The expectation of paying almost 20 dollars for 2 lattes that were clearly not made to completion is extremely frustrating, especially for those that are excited to support local businesses and try to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's so trivial in the grand scheme of life - however, with the economy being as awful as it is right now, you never really know if someone saved up their money to have this be their "treat of the week" - and I wanted to let potential customers know that if you don't understand how this system works ahead of time, it could leave you feeling like you wasted a good bit of money. The coquito latte was delicious! I don't usually drink coffee unless I'm completely exhausted. This was the perfect pick me up as it contains about two shots of expresso. A coworker brought me to this very cute and quaint coffee shop with a Puerto Rican flag painted on the side out front as well as inside. Though the address is a Lexington Avenue address, the shop is on 27th Street between Lexington and Park. If you like Spanish coffee, then I recommend this place. This particular shop is owned by a Puerto Rican and a Mexican, according to the barista, who also mentioned that the coffee comes from Puerto Rico. Co-worker and I ordered the coquito latte and it was really delicious and smooth. I'd like to try more of their coffees and their coffee beans for purchase, but at the prices they charge, it will have to be a treat! I'll wait until I get my bonus! read more
