The next day, he determined it was actually two breakers, and we were still discussing a total in the $250-$300 range. A few days later, without any communication that the scope or price had materially changed, I received a bill for $520 for what I understood to still be the replacement of two breakers. I immediately reached out to discuss the discrepancy. Instead of calmly explaining the bill, the situation escalated. His communication became hostile, he threatened to come to the property, and we became genuinely concerned about him showing up and disturbing our tenants or potentially creating problems at the property. We ultimately paid the inflated amount because we did not want the situation to escalate further. My issue is not paying a contractor fairly. It is being quoted roughly $250-$300, receiving a $520 bill without prior authorization for that increase, and then dealing with hostility when questioning it. The entire experience destroyed any trust I had in this business. I would never use this vendor again and strongly recommend others look elsewhere.
