This Shell right off Interstate 5 in Ashland qualifies for such a stop. They have a nice convenience store, drive through car wash and if the mood strikes there is a fancy cannabis shop across the street that usually has a food truck parked in front. This is our stop for gas and restroom break when we travel through the area. Clean restrooms and reasonably priced gas. Worth the stop!

The lines were not too long and I got in. I guess they have attendants to fill you tank here on Oregon or I think you have the choice to fill your own. They're scared you'll blow up the place, gosh I wonder how many gas stations exploded cause someone was pumping they're own gas? I get to the guy and ask can you clean the windshield too? NOPE! so much for full service! This gas hog was almost empty so I sat for awhile while it filled. Used my Costco Citi card to get back 5% back at least. Gas was cheaper here than any other place especially like a Chevron. I do like that the hoses extend to either side of the vehicle, so it doesn't matter which side you pull up on.

The attendants seem friendly enough and the location is easily accessible from two sides of the intersection. It isn't nearly as easy to find off the freeway as the signs at the exit would have you believe. It is a good two miles from the freeway, so if you are in a rush, it would probably be better to go to a place close to the freeway on ramp/off ramp further down the road.

The pump didn't explode, the receipt printed, and no one tried to sell me a timeshare. Honestly, flawless execution. They also have snacks inside, if you're into that kind of thing. I didn't buy any, but it's good to know they're there in case I ever feel the sudden urge to eat something wrapped in plastic and optimism. If you need gas and enjoy the thrill of pumping it yourself, this place won't disappoint. Would I come back? Sure, when my car needs more gas. Turned out we had a huge screw bolt in a tire and despite plugging it for free, while good for a short term, the young gentleman feared it better we get a tire replacement before make the long journey home.
