The first day I came in, she helped me pick my threads, offered decorative stitch advice, and got me all the supplies I needed to be ready for my first project. A solid 20 projects later, I am loving needlepoint as a hobby and frequent City Needleworks! I get my canvases finished here and find that the finished product turns out amazing and with a pretty fast turnaround time. The threads they sell from the shop are premium (no dmc) and they also host stitch nights, so it's nice to come in and just spend time with fellow needle pointers. It is located near the Rockaway Beach area and is close to other shops, restaurants and hotels. We were warmly greeted by the owner. She was so friendly and had a lot of recommendations for us that were in the Pacifica area. She was so happy to see us and we had a nice time visiting with her and enjoying her shop. We found a cool wine bottle opener that was shaped like a fish, a cute turtle bowl and some really nice soaps that were locally made. She also had a nice selection of jams, that were locally made as well. We purchased the P.O.G. flavor which was passion fruit, orange and guava. I love those flavors. They remind me of the POG drinks that are from Hawaii. She also mentioned the maker of the jam had a store down the street, which we also visited. I really loved her store for the variety of items and for supporting her local community by having local items for sale in her store. Prices were reasonable and I feel they were worth it for what we bought. If you are ever visiting Pacifica, I highly recommend checking out this wonderful gift shop. One of those places is TuTuGether which has several different DIY options for you including tufting, paint pouring, and decoden. While tufting seems to be the most popular option, my friends and I decided to do paint pouring, which involved picking out a figurine and then pouring on layers of paint. The instructor helped us through the process and even made helpful suggestions to improve the designs. Yes, it didn't require too much skill, but enjoyed watching the designs come together as the paint dripped. There is almost little control yet it can come out so beautiful. Unfortunately, you cannot just take your creation home right away, but at least when they are finished, they wrap it up nicely! The cost came out to be about $40 for about an hour's worth of creating. It was a fun activity! Next time, my friends and I will want to tackle tufting! Overall, TuTuGether is a fun DIY destination that is worth checking out if you are looking for activity to do with friends!

Everything in Real Old Paper is curated and owned by Andrew. He is a private collector that has amassed an impressive collection of original movie posters, advertisements, and exclusive images. Now, in fairness, I asked how does Andrew ensure authenticity and he walked me through the process of estate sales, family auctions, and working with other private dealers in which a network of professional's are available. The prices of the posters, which varies in sizes, range from a few hundred to a few thousands. If you are looking for something niche, original, and conversation driving, his shop is worth a visit. He was a very kind man with great stories. Definitely check this place out.

I believe there are at least three…read more There is one when you walk in from the entrance of the Music Concourse Parking Garage, one when that you exit into, from the main exhibition being shown presently, which is the Monet in Venice exhibit, and one one the level above where the rest of the museum art displays are. We went to all three. I really like the one that we walked into upon exiting the Monet in Venice exhibit. This shop offers a variety of items pertaining to the Monet in Venice exhibit. They had t-shirts, calendars, tote bags, books and many more items with Monet's artwork on them. I purchased a nice t-shirt that had the Grand Canal Venice, 1908 painting on it. We also purchased a Monet cookbook that features recipes from Monet's notes, that he made, as well as a book about Monet's time in Venice. They had some really nice gift items that would be great Christmas gifts for friends. Since we have a de Young Museum membership, we get 10% off all our museum store purchases, which is very nice. The other two museum stores have many other items pertaining to the de Young museum itself, the Golden Gate Bridge and other cultural art. There are household items, clothing, jewelry, dolls, books and puzzles. Some items can be pricey. Having the 10% discount helps out a lot here. Customer service in all museum stores is very good. The employees are kind and helpful. It's worth checking out the stores, especially if you want to buy something art related that you are passionate about. I am a big fan of Monet. I really appreciated all the Monet themed items that they had to offer. My family and I were waiting to be serviced at the cash desk-- as we were purchasing a sweater for my younger sister. Sarah approached us and offered us a delayed greeting. She rung up the sweater and asked if we had a membership, which I do! This is where the dramatics began. She insisted that my membership must be "new" because she couldn't find me in the shops "system". I've had a membership for several months now, and shopped many times at the museum store. She however insisted otherwise. At some point she notes that my membership is listed as "dual" and that she needed the other members name, to add... me? She looks at me plainly and says, "the meaning of dual means two, two people. Who's the other person" Sarah's nerve to offer me a lesson in the English language takes a lot of audacity, and was uncalled for especially over a small discount on a novelty sweater. Sarah is audacious, I will certainly avoid shopping the store if she's ever around. De young please staff some decent shop keeps!
