Manager is extremely rude and lacks any customer service. Store could be cleaner. Very expensive if you order online.

I found this restaurant randomly as we drove from Vermont to Portland. This is the kind of find…read morethat I love - a local diner/cafe off the beaten path. If you find yourself in Sanford, this is a place that is a good find. The menu contains all of the breakfast and lunch standards. Breakfast is available until 2:00 pm, which is when the restaurant closes, so everything on the menu is sold from opening to close. My wife had the waffles ($4.99) and bacon. The bacon was crispy, but the waffles had a softer than usual (for us) texture. I'm not sure if that's normal, or just the batter and cooking that Sweet Memories does. However, it was tasty and she enjoyed it. I ordered the cleverly named "Big Breakfast" (8.89) that included: Three eggs served with two pieces, bacon, two sausages, a half slice a ham with home fries and your choice of toast or an English Muffin. The quality of the food is good and the prices are an amazingly good value. I'm sure that this same meal back home in Minneapolis would be more $15 for the Big Breakfast and $12 for the waffles and bacon. The service was a bit sluggish, but all in all, fine. I would love for a second location to open in Minneapolis, Minnesota, complete with the Sanford, Maine prices.

Service was slow but that could be because it was busy or they're short handed, I never saw anyone…read morejust standing around. It was busy, and I've heard many good things about this restaurant. The decor was cute and homey. I was not very impressed with my food. I ordered a kielbasa omelette with home fries and grilled English muffin. I don't know what they cooked the food in, some oil or butter, I don't know, but whatever that was, I did not like. I am not picky by any stretch of the imagination, but there was a flavor in all the food that just did not taste good. I couldn't finish any part of my breakfast.

Call me the anti-thesis of a true New Englander (which I am, I swear!), but I cannot stand Dunkin'…read moreDonuts coffee. I can make burnt coffee at home, thanks. And my mother has a Keurig, but she always buys ultra-weak coffee. So, I always wake up in the morning and head to Aroma Joe's to get my morning fix. The people are super-friendly (as most New Englanders are--bias acknowledged), and all the coffees and espresso drinks are great. I've have 5 or 6 different drinks from there, and they are fantastic. I'm partial to the peppermint pattie--not sure of the exact name. But even their brewed coffees are nice. Two bonus features: 1) This particular location is in an old bank. If you are looking to sit around and drink in the store, you can sit in the bank's old vault. I believe that it was formerly the Sanford Institute for Savings. 2) If you're in the drive-thru lanes with a dog in the car, they'll offer you a treat for the pooch. Obviously this has nothing to do with the product of the shop, but it's a great touch, and our dog loves treats (like every other dog, I suppose). Great coffee, open early, and a nice alternative to the 'Bucks. See you in a few weeks, Aroma Joe!

This little gem of a store is one of my favorites! They carry a very unique wide selection of food…read moreand cooking items. They are from Pennsylvania and are Amish (I believe) and bring their simple down home hardworking energy and put it into the store. They sell "bulk" food/cooking items(spices, herbs, candies etc) so most of it is in clear plastic bags or plastic containers. They do this so they can offer all the wonderful items at a very affordable cost to us the customer. You will find so many different items that your "average " stores DONT carry. They sell fresh organic dairy and meat items and have a full deli with a variety of affordable deli meats and cheeses. They also sell their BEAUTIFUL hand crafted outdoor furniture and items. Such as chairs, swings, sheds etc that are absolutely GORGEOUS and you know it's amazing quality coming from them made by hardworking people!! The owners are always very kind and helpful!! The gentleman that I believe owns it can be quiet and seem all business but he's very nice. If you are ever in the area and want to see something different stop on by and take a peek!! You won't regret it!!!

They also seem to have some decent prices on cheeses. I was hoping to would have some fresh homemade Amish butter. I am still longing for the one I had in Pennsylvania several years ago. This location is an emotional roller coaster! But I still love it…read more Some days I have an absolutely stellar experience; food is hot even after waiting in line (and not dried out!), Drinks are made exactly to order, bagels are toasted exactly as requested... Smiles all the way around! Other days it is nightmarish... I question if someone even glanced at my order or if the employee I am speaking to realizes they are at work and have a job (yikes). Honestly, I seem to have better luck if I go before noon time or 2 the latest. A nice thing is that 9 times out of 10 if you have an issue they straighten it out very quickly and are very courteous, oftentimes giving a free donut to make up for the trouble. I often deal with any issues in the morning because it sort of feels like the staff in the evening are more likely to be indifferent to an issue than the morning staff. As a drive-thru only location one would think there would be no room for issue or error but you can tell these guys are always beyond slammed in the morning with lines almost reaching the road. Machines occasionally stop working, orders don't print, chaos ensues. All in all if you are willing to take a chance that your cold foam might get left out or a bagel un-toasted in return for a free donut, this is your place. If you have zero tolerance for errors or no patience (loooong lines between 8:30am-11am) maybe a different location is better.
