The store itself is…read moresmall and more of a to-go type of vibe, but with so many pretty places to sit and take in the water in Greenport really all you need is a counter. I don't know if it's an issue with cleaning the scoops or with the ice itself, but I ordered my go-to at Ralph's (mocha chip) and it tasted like mint, which I hate but also don't remember it ever tasting like when I used to order this all the time as a teenager. Again, not sure if they've changed the recipe over the years (and the deeper I got into it, the less I noticed that weird taste) but it was off from what I usually order, which was a bummer. I hadn't had Ralph's in a minute and was excited to give this place a try.

ALDI really has great prices, and fun finds. Also, unlike Lidl, they still carry sliced deli meats…read more I don't like packaged deli meats, so I now have to go either to ALDI or King Kullen. Produce section was seriously picked over, but I did get spring mix and a couple of other things. They don't have GF tortillas (Lidl does), or bread. They didn't have any GF pizza dough, either. They DID have fresh boneless SKINLESS salmon, and a YUMMY fresh GF lemon basil tortellini!! Skinless salmon isn't easy to find. I don't like skinning it. I either blacken it, or grind it and make burgers, so I don't want the skin. So this was a most excellent trip. Blackened salmon, tortellini, and a salad were a perfect dinner. Cashiers are swift and efficient. Alas, one has to bag one's own groceries, and I don't like that. But that's the norm everywhere, except Costco. ALDI has sort of a bargain-store ambience. I can't quite figure out how they manage that with a grocery store.

I actually have anxiety before going there. There's a woman who works there & runs around like nut, doesn't care if you are in her way - she's going for it. I dread when she's on register & I get her. She's snippy, rushes you like the place is going to blow up any minute. Snapped at the very elderly man behind me because he didn't realize or hear what she had said. From now on I will wait around for a different register line to open. And No, I'm not putting my card in the machine until I'm ready to pay.

The two Green smoothies were cloyingly sweet with an odd sweetness. The Acai bowls very fresh one time, way too skimpy on berries. Didnt feel it was a reasonable value. ($49) Next time not - the Acai actually smelled/ tasted off- not sure how long they keep and if from a big pail - so it's hit or miss here. Twice last week they closed just before 6. We could use a more generous store in terms of time opened, fruit toppings and especially to care to ask if sugar substitute is wanted. Green drinks tasted wat too odd from Agave syrup - They use processed Agave syrup- be careful if not wanted- let them know. Best bets here are green drinks without added sugars. They are good and it's nice to have them here.

The spot is very clean and spacious. There was no one there when I went in on a weekday morning, so I figured things would move quickly here. I ordered two different types of bowls, one that had a mango flavored base and the other that was a "green" bowl with spinach mixed into the frozen base of the bowl. The wait for both of these bowls took some time, which was surprising since there were two people working here and no one else inside the establishment besides me. After a bit of a wait I grabbed my bowls to go. Both were well made with plenty of toppings, so even though the price tag was steep (around $15 for a regular sized bowl), I felt like I got my money's worth. I'd stop by here again for sure.
