He used to serve me at Rita's across the street, and he's one of those rare lights of a human you never forget -- not because of what they say, but because of how they make you feel. When he looked up and said, "How are you, my friend? I used to serve you at Rita's!" everything clicked. He remembers my name. He remembers my complicated daily order to the letter. He greets me with warmth every single time -- even when I walk in two minutes before closing. And unlike so many places these days, he never shows irritation or rushes me. He makes me feel valued. One night, I accidentally called 30 minutes after they had already closed -- and Farouk still answered the phone, cheerfully, by name, and took my order anyway. I waited in this line for a seemingly longer then average timeframe. They had to make it. Handed it out to me and I noticed it seemed rushed made. I asked for a straw as it has bobba pearls. I was given a regular straw. I didnt bother tooting the horn to get the young man's attention. I sipped the drink and of course it tastes like WATER. I then had to park and go inside after waiting in the long line and for them to make my drink once I got to the window. I was then told, oh it was made with water instead if lemonade and stated here is a correct straw because you have a regular straw. I looked at the gentleman in a way that I knew it manner but I got it from you all at the drive thru window. So need less to say, this Starbucks is a hit and miss. I have no faith in Starbucks much and they are so pricey. Ill say if you can go to a local cafe and give as these Starbucks seem to not care anymore.
