The New-Goteborg Musubi is like Luncheon Meat and Portuguese Sausage had a baby. The texture and flavor of Luncheon Meat and slight taste of Portuguese Sausage. It was okay. Thankful for 7-11. Always there when you need them. On this day I needed some ice for my cooler as severe weather predictions warranted extra precautions. Stopped at this one of many locations to arrive to a small line. It was already the afternoon by the time I left work so I was thankful there was still reasonably priced ice in freezer. Was also able to grab a few things from the chilled deli. Hawaii's got a great selection of prepared quick foods. And in a pinch... it works. Thankful the tsunami warnings came and went rather uneventfully. Thankful for the staff at 7-11 across our islands that stayed open to serve the community. Much mahalo! read more

You know it's the place for quick pick up with traffic wherever we got along with filled parking lots just to stand in long lines for a quick bite at your local 7-Eleven it's rarely a situation like that and this location there's another great reason is the multiple street directions you're able to access the store along with a convenient gas station right beside them it's a great location even though it does sit on a busy intersection. I love the 7-11 Pork Hash and usually purchase about 20 of the 6 packs of Pork Hash to freeze and take back to the mainland. The Piikoi location carries a very large inventory of the refrigerated prepared foods. The also have the spicy pork hash, shrimp and pork hash along with a variety of other foods including their well known Katsu Musubi. For a quick hot snack or refrigerated foods, this is the 7-11 to hit. No pictures but I have 20 frozen 6 packs of Pork Hash in my freezer to hold me until my next trip sometime in 2025. I think I've tried so many of their bentos, musubi's, salads, pastries, Slupee's, and almost everything is freshly delivered first thing in the morning and good for either that same day or if you purchase refrigerated items, you can still enjoy them the next day. My hubby loves their somen salad and deluxe salad with oriental dressing. I'm always picking up at least two musubi for the road. On this past visit at the Piikoi location, I got the Deluxe Bento, fried noodles, and 2 kinds of musubi. I highly suggest fresh pastries earlier in the mornings while it's much tastier than prepackaged pastries. 7-Eleven has free ample parking surrounding the store and Hakuyosha, or you can also park at an available gas pump and walk over. It's very nice and clean inside, and everyone at the cash register counter is helpful, cordial, and polite. Overall, this is a good place to grab quick bites to go. The only thing that keeps me from coming by frequently is the overcrowding of squatters all around the store front. I frequent this 7-11. It's off of Piikoi, so it's convenient. There used to be a lot of homeless people hanging out outside. It's gotten somewhat better recently. It's 7/11 today, which means 7-11 is giving away small Slurpees. The line was so long and three of the flavors were already out at noon. The hubby got a Slurpee and reusable bag. I got my fave Spam katsu musubi and pork hash. This location is usually pretty well stocked with items. I'm usually there for their beef pho, spicy ahi inari sushi, Spam musubi and pork hash. Searching for the Spam Cheese Musubi for my Twinsie, Joyce, in Arizona... This morning for breakfast, I decided to go to the 7-Eleven near my physical therapy appointment. Unfortunately, they didn't have the newish Spam Cheese Musubi as advertised on Instagram about two weeks ago. Maybe it was sold out? I asked the cashier, but he didn't know anything. He said that he didn't even get to try it himself! For lunch, I drove to this busy location of 7-Eleven on the corner of Piikoi Street and Young Street (even though the address is King Street). I looked in the warmer AND the refrigerated items section - no Spam Cheese Musubi. Hmmm... I settled on an Oven Roasted Salmon Musubi. It was just right because I just needed a snack before having popcorn at the theater... LOL! As I was cashing out, I asked about the Spam Cheese Musubi. Giovanni was the helpful, friendly Assistant Manager/cashier who informed me that the product was discontinued. He did get a chance to try it and said that it was good. Wow... We need to appreciate 7-Eleven in Hawaii because they have local goods like pastries from Ubae and Da Kine Donuts, various types of manapua (Cha siu bao), and unique flavors of Slurpee such as Haupia (coconut dessert). Surprisingly THERES plenty of food here. Most 7-eleven are emptied by now. Any who, ambiance is a bit different from the one we go to. I guess cause it's off the main highway. So it's not only busy, but it seems dirty. I think it's from all the traffic and cars always driving by. Then there's a couple guys hanging out front asking for change. Personally, I don't usually give those who ask. There was this one uncle who didn't ask for anything I just gave him my loose change. The other guy who kept asking came rushing over afterwards asking for change told him sorry, just gave it to the uncle right there. Otherwise, it's almost the same as you go to any 7-11. Wish they had security or employees who'd send those guys away during the rush hours. It's bad for business when you're walking to your car and you hear footsteps rushing in asking for change. First and foremost, I must give BIG PROPS to 7-Eleven management for actually reading, and replying to my Yelp 7-Eleven review that I wrote a few months ago (about the McCully Shopping Center location). 7-Eleven management wasn't blowing wind up my @ss when they said that they were gonna bring back the Garlic Chicken Musubi (but only better!) as they actually listened to my request! On New Years eve, when I was heading to my office to do some work, I decided to stop by my favorite 7-Eleven location, and sure enough.........I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the Garlic Chicken Musubi back on the shelf! Oh HAPPY Day!!! What a way to start off da New Year! I LOVE YOU 7-Eleven!!! Much MAHALO, and I will make a point to try and swing by every week to one of your stores to take care of my Garlic Chicken Musubi fix!!! Normally, my go to 7-Eleven store is the store on Wilder Ave., as I past this 7-Eleven store almost everyday on my way to work. I also sometimes patronize the 7-Eleven store in the McCully Shopping Center, as it's not too far from my office too. Today, as I was running around in the field today, I totally missed lunch, and since I just so happened to be driving along Piikoi Street & S. King Street, I decided to pull into this 7-Eleven store that is just next door to the Makiki Zippy's. A few things I like about this particular store (although I will have to admit to don't come here that often for one reason). I will get to that later. Things I like about this 7-Eleven store - 1. The parking lot is HUGE, so there is a lot of parking here. 2. There are lots of gas pumps here, so if you need gas, there is hardly any wait. 3. The store is pretty big, and all 7-Eleven stores in Hawaii are pretty consistent with the store layout, and the things they carry within the store. 4. The one consistent thing about Bruddah Fran, is his Garlic Chicken Musubi.........and as soon as he pulled into the parking lot, and walked into the store.........AUTOMATIC bro! Did you see my Garlic Chicken Musubi today????? Da buggah was one BUMBUCHA!!! And what a great deal, as it's just $3.13 with tax!!! One Garlic Chicken Musubi was more than enough for me to kill that hunger after missing my lunch. And the one thing that kind keeps me from coming to this particular store on a regular basis - Totally NOT 7-Eleven's fault, but for some reason this store location attracts some unsavory characters. Unfortunately there are a lot of mentally ill, & homeless folks that sometimes hang out in the front, or perimeter of the store, and I have been accosted a few times for money when I would patronize this location. Three and a half stars. I went after years of not stepping foot into a 7-11 and was extremely shocked to see all the already prepared and just have to microwave foods. I know I hear or see on social media all the new things that they have. Anyhow at 6 am I walked into 7-11 and there was a long long line already. All the hard working construction guys and office workers all in line with coffee and food to go. It's wonderful to have this choice and selections. I jumped to the cold refrigerated section and looked at what there was. So many choices. All different ethnic foods. Awesome. On top you can get saimin and just microwave that. I got California roll and an egg roll which I must say was delicious. Piping hot, crunchy and had all different goodies inside. Remind yourself it's fast food! Big egg roll and piping hot? Why not. This 7-11 is hard to avoid for me, because I pass it every day on my way to work. On the mornings when I don't have enough time to make a cup of coffee or pack a small breakfast, I'll stop here. I can always find a space, and they normally have 3 cashiers on hand so that the wait time is minimal. My standard purchase is a small cup of coffee and a spam musubi. I dropped in this morning to get my usual cup of decaf coffee. They have great tasting coffee (and a great selection) for a third of the price that I pay on the weekends at Starbucks. I must also add that I really do like this location. It's so convenient for me right on the crossroads of three big streets / intersections (South King Street, Piikoi and Young Street). Plus it's definitely one of the largest and CLEANEST branches that I've been to. (Last year I stepped into one in Kalihi and almost immediately turned around and left.) Stopped in here this morning to fill up on gas and my spam musubi breakfast. They have a promotion right now-buy two get one free! So of course they were out of spam musubis in their display. But the clerk was kind enough to check and taaa-dahhhh! I honestly believe, the Slurpee machines don't work at this 711. 9 out of 10 times, only syrup is being dispensed. I will be trying outer locations or start going to WALGREEN for Icee. I tend to pass this location on the way home while walking. We usually stop off at this gas station because it's one of the more inexpensive 76 gas stations in the area. It's wide open and clean. You'll even have the kids loitering along the Hakuyosha side right next to the loitering HPD eating their spam, hot dogs, and slurpees. What makes me go in here a ton lately? Stupid Farmville. This is one of my most frequent and favorite 7-11s. If I ever need gas and in the area I go here and use my Kama'aina Rewards card. Very spacious location. The 76 gas station is also very spacious. They have a DVD rental kiosk inside the store which is pretty cool. The staff are cool. Most of the time they are well stocked in their bentos, musubis, manapuas, pastries, etc. Slurpees are the bomb here. 95% of the workers at this 7 Eleven are Filipino. So when they talk to each other in their language, they don't think that anyone else can understand them. Some of us can understand what they are saying. They talk $#*+ about customers. They shouldn't talk about people in their language in front of customers. If they have something to say, say it to our face in English. One employee, Apple, is always so rude and never smiles, never greets a customer and never thanks the customer. Tonkotsu ramen: In the fridge there's absolutely no broth . I was very skeptical and honestly have seen it before but passed on it because I thought to myself how good can on the go ramen be at 7-11? So I asked the cashier "do I add water?" Even though the packaging clearly states do not add water. They explained in so many words, just put it in the microwave. I was going to give up, but figured what the hell just try it. I'm a ramen lover but was pressed for time. So I stuck it in the microwave for the 2 min and when the beep sounded and I opened the door BAM! There's broth all yummy and rich looking. The noodles were cut at the right length for on the go (in the car) eating. I was beside myself with the magical ‍ soup appearing. The taste was good, not packaged ramen tasting. Great Yelpers think alike. Reading through the reviews for this location, I realized I wasn't alone in how I felt about this 7-11. Location is great. It's on my way to the office, so I'll often stop by for a quick bite. The parking is okay, although sometimes it can be very busy. I think there are about 14 stalls maybe, so don't quote me on that. It's usually pretty clean inside. Shelves are stocked pretty well, despite the constant flow of customers coming in and out. Employees can be a hit and miss. One of the employees I've come to know, Iris, is great. Always greets you with a smile, quick to step in if the line becomes long and overall on top of things. However, like Tracy U, I've experienced some of the workers who just talk to each other rather than help out. Once during a promotion, the worker argued with us and brought in her coworker to back her up. They both continued to state that the promotion was over despite us showing her in clear wording on their card that the promotion was still valid. Luckily another employee stepped in (Thank you!) and pointed out that we were correct. The incorrect worker didn't bother to apologize, just stated "oh" and stumbled around looking for the stamp for the card. I'm not one to typically argue, but it was definitely clear on the card that we were right. What should have taken less than 2 minutes to ring up and complete took way more than that.
