I've lived a few blocks away from here for the past 23 years. In fact, I consider this 7-eleven to be a part of my childhood. When my little brothers and I were just kids, it was close enough for my parents to allow us to walk over there nearly everyday. The employees were awesome back then! They were super friendly with me, my family and friends. There was a true sense of a community then. Even as I got older, the younger cashiers and I were cool, be a little flirty or whatevaa. Now I refuse to set foot in that fucking place. All the employees, ALL of them, young and old are a bunch of rude fucking lying ass assholes. Grateful to have Family Dollar next door now. A little while ago I got into couponing and one time asked my sister to buy me 3 sets of the Sunday record before she came home. Low and behold, when she hands them over to me, most of the coupons are gone! None of the 3 newspapers had any identical coupon books in them. I asked my sister where she went to get them so I can go return or exchange em. Sure enough, it's this 7-eleven. I didn't think there would be a problem though because she had the receipt as proof of purchase. I went in there casually and explained my issue and did they do anything to compensate? No. Basically told me I'm shit out of luck. Whatever. I didn't make a big deal out of it. I just won't get them from there anymore. But of course, one Sunday, I'm just too tired to go across town, let me just go in here and get my coupons. I make sure to open the newspapers first to make sure they were in there and wtf happens? I get fuckkng yelled at and accused of taking coupons out! The fuckkkkk!! But did I learn my lesson? Kinda yeah but no not really because covid-19 is here, it's a nice night out and my daughters wanna go for a walk and get some ice cream. Okay cool, let's do it. Let's get some coupons too. We get there, the newspaper stand is a hot mess and it looks like someone been checking for them too. I open the newspapers and cross my fingers that I'll get lucky but ain't shit there. Ain't shit but one random P&g coupon book sitting under the first newspaper. So clearly, the coupons were there, someone took them all out. Whatever, I wasn't even gonna complain and keep it moving but as I'm folding the newspaper close, old dude behind the counter yells at me that there's "no coupons on weekends!" YOU'RE LYING. There's coupons every Sunday record and what is this one random p&g coupon book doing here then?! Fuckkng liar!! Charging customers the full amount for a newspaper and stealing the coupons for themselves!! Fucking liars!! And not to mention thief!!!!! I let it go. I wasn't going to argue in front of my kids. My daughter already picked out ice cream. I bring it to the counter, new guy rings it up for $3.39, I swipe my EBT card but I guess the new guy didn't know how to do it so I had to wait for the old man that yelled at me to ring me up. He comes and looks at the screen, says something to the new guy and the new guy comes with a bag of nuts and it scans for $3.19. Old dude punches in some keys and rings up a banana for .79 cents. They wanted me to pay $3.99 for a bag of nuts and a banana when I was only buying an ice cream for $3.39. I politely question WTF and he had the audacity to saying "ice cream $3.99! I'm helping you! You paying with EBT" what the fuck does having an EBT have to do with anything?! Paying with an EBT gives you the okay to talk to me so degrading in front of my kids and other people in the store?! I'm trying to keep my cool cuz my kids are there telling him he should not treat his customers that way, before he loses more business. I really did not want to pay for that ice cream anymore but it was for my kid... so whatever I paid but I'm still telling him about himself And he keeps yelling "I'm helping you, you have EBT" I was so embarassed. Smh nearly cried walking home cuz I was so frustrated! Frustrated cuz I didn't speak up more! My kid asked me on the walk home "what happened...." and I explained it to her and her response was "you shoulda taken the banana" read more
