It's named after the nearby Haw River which you cross over when riding on I-40/I-85. This Pilot is located just off the aforementioned interstate, exit 150. It's roughly halfway between the Triad and the Triangle. Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers (same company) are more like truck stops and comparable to Love's Travel Stops, as opposed to QuikTrip and Sheetz stores, with convenience stores that offer much more than just refreshments. Oftentimes, fast food and other chain restaurants will be on-site. In the case of this Pilot, there's a Dairy Queen and Wendy's attached to the store. Across the street, there's a Flying J with a Denny's connected to it. I just stopped to fill up on gas on my way to Chapel Hill from High Point. The gas station at this Pilot has eight pumps. I used pump #4 and it was in good condition, from the screens to the handle to the buttons. The paper towel dispenser was stocked and my paper receipt printed out clearly. The price of the gas (premium) was not as good as the prices I paid immediately preceding this fill-up at places like the Costco in Durham, QTs in Georgia and South Carolina, and a Kroger in Georgia. Compared to those places, the price for premium gas here was anywhere from $0.13 to $0.39 higher per gallon. At the same time, I didn't feel that the price was unreasonable, just more on the pricey side. I'd stop here again if I had to. This is Pilot store #6955.

The store is located in a really nice area with other nearby shopping and conveniently located. When I entered the store I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well organized the place is. Product are mealy and clearly labeled. The staff are extremely helpful and go way above and beyond to help which is a great thing. The prices here are also phenomenal! The checkout lanes and self checkout were not crazy at all either. I will definitely shop here again with I am here the area.

It was not a tiramisu cake It was not even a good cake. In fact, it was probably one of the worst store bought cakes I have ever had. I paid a custom cake price for something that was a big disappointment. It was so bad that I actually took the time to write this review so no one else wastes their money.

Haha, kidding about the latter. I don't drink Four Loko porque soy no loco. I love this place. I love the foreign owner's ambition. He's got big dreams, and ambition's; go big or stay home, just like me. First of all, the word "beer" in the front of the place should be in a huge font and have glowing lights, because boy do they have beer for a small mart. The owner has temperature controlled freezer's, and about fifty different micro brews available like he's situated in bustling Times Square. It's pretty sweet. I was looking at one end of the store at all the beers, and he enthusiastically pointed to the other side and said "look behind the chips, look behind the chips." He grabbed my hand and actually held it as he led me to this sacred area behind the chips. Sure enough there were ten more micro brews. This place is awesome. It's very progressive for this area, and can give any small mart in the country a run for it's money with it's variety of beers. The owner is a really nice guy and seems very committed to making sure you are happy, which let's face it, is a pretty rare gesture in this day and age. He tells me every time I go in there that if I can't find something I want, he will be happy to get it for me. I'm sure he would do the same for you if you visited the quick mart.

This is the "Daniel Boone Shell" located just off I-85 exit 164 (Old NC 86 - Hillsborough) in North…read moreCarolina. Along with 85, there's a sign for this Shell at I-40 exit 261 (Old NC Highway 86 - Hillsborough). From I-40 exit 261, this Shell is about 1.5 miles (three minutes) away. I'm not too familiar with this area (at least not yet). The only reason why I think this Shell is known as the Daniel Boone Shell is because there's a giant statue of Daniel Boone behind it (as well as a Waffle House). After I filled up, I drove to the back specifically to take a picture of the statue. There was a sign underneath the statue that said "The Shops at Daniel Boone." It looked like a ghost town back there. Eerily dead. The time of day (night) didn't help. Anyway, this was your standard Shell station. Eight pumps, all on one side (street side) with the convenience store in the back, near Daniel Boone. This station has service bays, but the service center was closed during my visit. The station was bright and clean, stocked with paper towels and washer fluid, and also well-worn. The gas prices were expensive, but I used the app GetUpside to get 17 cents per gallon back. Use my invite code DANIEL66482 to get an additional 15 cents per gallon back the first time you use the app to save on gas. There's no catch. I don't know how the app developers make money, but it's free money back to people who buy gas at Shell and other participating gas stations like BP and Circle K. "Daniel Boone Shell" is what printed on top of my receipt. The receipt printed out nice and clear. I'd come back, if anything, to see what becomes of the creepy ghost town.
