The wings were perfectly fried, great crust, with a very nice, fresh taste. The potato wedges were very good as well, but the fried okra was a bit on the soggy side - too much time on the steam table. I'll be back for some more chicken!

I came here on a Friday afternoon primarily to get food from the restaurant inside the gas station…read more After ordering my food, I browsed. There was an ATM inside, an empty ice container, a gambling area, ample selection for snacks and drinks, and a beer cave. They have an area where you can get a slushy or coffee. There is also a "restaurant" inside the gas station called Krispy Krunchy Chicken where you can get some food. Unfortunately, they do not have a public restroom. Outside, they sell propane tanks and there was 4 gas pumps. They do not sell Diesel though. The cashier was friendly and it wasn't that busy. Outside, I did notice there were medium sized chickens walking around.

Let me start with this.... the service is excellent. Staff is very friendly bilingual mainly…read moreSpanish speaking but understand English very well. The store is very clean. Great health score for the kitchen area. However, my girlfriend is highly allergic to shrimp and had an allergic reaction after eating a carne asada taco and a carne asada gordita. We also got a plate of carne asada rice and beans. The food itself was delicious. My overall concern was the cross contamination causing my girls allergic reaction. We also have a container of red salsa that has expended out of the container several hours later. Shown in the photos. This food came from their in-store kitchen where they prepare plates. Again, like I said great food but the concern is if you have allergies steer clear. The market has fresh veggies, and all the cultural l groceries and meats you would need to make anything from carne asada to posole and menudo.

I first came here a while back in pursuit of a USDA Prime steak. They routinely carry both Prime and certified Angus ribeyes and strips as well as other cuts of beef, poultry, and salmon. I have only had the steaks, and they are outstanding. The other cuts of meat appear to be of the highest quality. I have also tried their smoked salmon dip, which is excellent, and their chicken salad, which has boldly flavored chicken (grilled?) and is as good as any you will find anywhere. They also have an astounding array of refrigerated or frozen take-and-bake meals. I've not had any of them, but they look fabulous. So if you're looking for something to grill or a prepared meal for you and your family because you're sick of cooking during this time of stay home/isolate/quarantine, I would highly recommend Gate City Butcher Shoppe. If you are hunkered down and not leaving the house at all, then I highly recommend that you visit GCBS on the day the stay home order is lifted, e'er it come. P.S. I'm sorry if "I'm into Something Good" is now playing in a loop in your head. At least it's a cute little song, a 1964 Carole King composition that Herman's Hermits took to #13 on the charts.

There aren't very many Mexican stores in the area so I only had 2 options to go do since this is a really small town. The have a decent selection of items but wish they offered more. I guess being from Cali I set the bar high. I went to the meat counter I got 1.5 lbs of flank steak which I think their prices are overpriced at $14.99 a lb sheesh! I also got diced asada from street tacos as well it was still on the pricey side but not crazy like the flank. I also bought there homemade tortillas which honestly weren't good they were hard and stuck together what a waste of money we didn't like then at all. When you come here you'll need to have patience as when I went only one person in the whole place spoke English so you have to wait for that one person to come and help. Overall, I'd probably stop by again for other iris like the baked goods and the fresh drinks they make. This place is only just way too expensive.
