He said no so I went to ask another employee for help and he got mad at me for asking another employee for help. I explained I saw them in the back, but that it wasn't a big deal. I was at this 7/11 Wednesday 11/22. The employee was very honest . He gave me my winnings on a Lucky for Life. A smaller hit but honestly is appreciated. The problem was a fellow outside asking money. I gave him some but I think I was duped . I've seen that fellow before. He might be sitting on a shield of gold. I don't think he was genuine. I had a very NEGATIVE experience at this store!!! I was buying some items at the grill & the african american clerk who was working there at the time was mumbling/not speaking clear & then actually YELLED & SWORE at me several times!!!..despite this,i still made a purchase! *This employee should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!! NO store should ever have a worker who acts like this!! He acted like this even in front of OTHER CUSTOMERS!!! He must have had a bad day!!! Beware!!! The card readers don't work 80% of the time and rather than entering the card an alternate way like I LITERALLY KNOW FOR A FACT THEY CAN the guy just tells you to leave after trying himself with your card upside down to ensure it doesnt read. I actually avoid this particular 7/11 due to rude employees and just general discomfort from the store itself. Although I did get a full pizza here with friends after a blizzard. This 7-Eleven gets four stars in my book, not for being particularly special, but for putting that repulsive Store 24 on the corner of Brookline Ave. and Comm. Ave out of business. This is a typical 7-Eleven, selling coffee, Slurpees, snacks, microwaveable food, tacky novelties, pastries, magazines, and shady No-Doz caffeine pills next to overpriced Q-Tips, contact lens cases, and condoms. The smell of the shady over-warmed roller hotdogs and suspicious nachos combine with the coffee to give this 7-Eleven a particularly unique pungent odor. I often go here for overpriced soda when I'm getting takeout from Uno's. While there's nothing particularly special about the store itself, since it has typical convenience-store items at inflated convenience-store prices, and no unique ambiance, I have to give a ton of credit to the guys who work in the store. The same three guys are ALWAYS there, such that I wonder when they sleep. Plus, they are excellent at tactfully getting rid of the homeless people who loiter in the store, gently "helping" the person find what he needs, which is usually the front door. My one complaint about this 7-Eleven is that I once went on a Jelly Belly Jelly Bean quest in Kenmore Square (back in the day when Store 24 was open) and was unable to locate them in any of the convenience stores in Kenmore Square. I'm fully aware that, as gourmet jelly beans, Jelly Bellies would cost about $7 a bag in a convenience store, but some people do get weird cravings at 10 pm that need to be met! read more

Went in and bought a pack of gum and some other stuff, totaling less than $10. My card was charged $20.00 exactly. I don't know if this is a glitch or if the person behind the counter did $20 cash back and pocketed it. I didn't do cash back. That store is the worst. They're always out of products (no hot dogs, no spicy chicken biscuit, no anything). And in the rare occasions they have something available in that hot food bar, asking for food is like asking people that work there for a big favor. Like you're interrupting their relaxing time by the cashier. I know this is a convenience store, not a 5 star hotel, but that low level of customer service is just bad for the 7-eleven brand as a whole. Had a printout of the website showing daily free snacks Plus the app on my phone showing "Free Twinkies July 15 only" with a barcode. Cashier refused to honor the coupon. Stated coke 2 for 3 but charge 5 dollars plus tax plus deposit. Ask for refund and gave me back 3 dollars in change I stated he gave me the wrong amount and gave me a little more change back. Finally after fourth try gave me 4 dollars and 98 cents back minus the tax and deposit. I gave up at that point and eat my hotdog. The guy behind me checked his receipt and also had an error that he had to get reimbursed. Buyer beware at the store.
