After I paid, I returned a key she had left in the machine, and she did not acknowledge me at all. While I was gathering my bags to leave, she rudely & aggressively stated, "We closed several minutes ago. You need to leave NOW!" I remained patient and respectful throughout the entire interaction. I began checking out at least ten minutes before closing. I understand she wanted to leave, and so did I, but if she had assisted customers and focused on her job, she likely would have been finished on time. No one requested that I stay so I left the pharmacy. Granted, it's the foaming kind. So to me, it feels a bit less satisfying than the non-aerated version. But still. Today, finding Purell in any form is like finding a stash of gold. After pumping my gas, staying well more than six feet away from any fellow human being, and sanitizing my hands, I felt like I was ready to take on the world. Or, at the very least, the next few hours of this pandemic. Oh yeah, and it was $1.99 per gallon. If it weren't for the existential dread, I might have been delighted to see such a throwback price.
