Lam hauling handled our project well, bringing 40 yard dumpsters and accommodating the times we needed them dumped. I guess the prices are fair, in San Jose everything seems to be about double the price everywhere else in the country. That being said, they are competitive. This company provided the worst customer experience with sales people who can't answers questions. They sell pottery as well as roof panels which is featured on Facebook MarketPlace. I purchased roof panels with waves and should be installed a certain way for if it rains, the water should flow downward and not get stuck between the waves/ridges. This company cut the panels the wrong direction which, if install will not allow for things to flow as intended. Between the late delivery (result in loss time and money with the contractor), delivering materials that can not be installed, and just unsatisfactory customer service provide not a great experience. This company does not own up to their mistake nor do they want to correct their mistake. They refuse to cut the panels and deliver the new panels. As others have said -- same company as Lam Hauling -- I did not have any problem communicating with them in English eventhough I can speak Vietnamese, I chose not to. I saw their adds on CL, needed a dumpster, and actually texted my inquiries. Responses were helpful and quick. I ordered the box ...believe it or not.. on Wednesday night @ 10:30pm...lol... for Friday delivery to my parents' place in SJ. Debris box was delivered on time. We were done early and I called them to pick up before the next rain storm here. Pick up went smoothly too. Make sure you save the add on CL with prices - I gave my payment over the phone. I was emailed with a contract and CC agreement. The only thing they didn't do yet is to send me a copy of the Landfill Ticket. I would probably use this company again. read more

Hired this company last week to deliver a $750 5-ton dumpster to haul away materials from a house I'm rehabbing - I've used a couple other companies who are just fine but needed a different company for this specific area. I specifically asked them to come on Friday afternoon and to return early on Saturday morning. I knew if it was left there other people would throw their crap in it and I didn't want to have to pay an additional $150 overage fee. STRIKE 1: They showed up at 7:45am!!! Obviously my guys weren't ready for them. They kept asking "where someone was to accept the dumpster". Are you kidding me? Since when is 7:45am LATE MORNING? Ugh. STRIKE 2: I had to get someone there quickly to accept the dumpster. STRIKE 3: THEN...they DIDN'T show up on Saturday to retrieve the dumpster so I called and asked why (more like WTF) and on top of them not having a reason as to why they didn't show up, I was hit with an additional $150 charge for them to come back to get it - how does that make ANY sense? Isn't the original fee for round trip? STRIKE 4: Needless to say - I stop by the house today (Monday)... THE DUMPSTER IS STILL THERE AND HAD A BUNCH OF OLD MATTRESSES AND OTHER GARBAGE IN IT. Obviously this is a problem for me for a few reasons. STRIKE 5: I call them AGAIN to see what's going on and I'm, again, not given any explanation as to why it wasn't retrieved AND that if I wanted them to remove the additional "weight" they're going to charge me ANOTHER $150!!! I've used them twice already. The first time was to clean out the garage and all the junk we amassed over the years. Also had some family and friends drop stuff off since w didn't completely fill our 3 ton debris box. The second time we used them, we were doing some renovations and we actually went over our 5 tons. Granted there was dirt and all kinds of stuff in there that was pretty weighty. No big deal since the charge wasn't huge. I even recommended these guys to a couple friends that wanted their garages back. Each time it was easy to book and easy to just make the payments over the phone. We have a huge driveway and it didn't stop us from getting in and out of the garage at all. The 2nd time, the pick-up driver missed our Friday pick-up and they ha to come on Monday instead. Using 7daysbox was fast and easy! We needed a debris box and needed one fast! I was calling around and filling out inquiries and 7daysbox was the easiest and cheapest around. I filled out a form online and within 2 hours received a phone call and a contract in my email. Rental contract was easy to fill out (2 pages) that went over no hazardous waste or material, charges and capacity, contamination, overfills, cancellation, delivery/removal, placement of etc. (the obvious stuff). I opted to fax it back with the signature and a check for payment was given to the driver upon delivery of the box. For 20 yards (3 ton allowance) everything including tax, delivery, pick up, etc. it came out to $325. We didn't need the debris box the whole 7 days so we were able to call a few days earlier for a pick up (pick up time depends on their schedule) but it was gone as tho it was never there in the first place. I scheduled a debris box to be delivered a week in advanced (they only require 1-2 days advanced booking). I put in a request for the box to be delivered on Saturday from 10AM-12PM and it was delivered around 11:30AM. The driver was experienced and knew how to maneuver the box and truck to get it in our driveway. We filled up our 20 cubic yard box in less than a day, so we had no need to keep the box on our property for the allotted 7 day rental. I gave them a call Monday morning for an early pick up, and the box was gone by the time I woke up on Tuesday morning. The price was reasonable and they seem to have the same pricing as other companies in the area. I got our 20 cubic yard box rental for $325 because I found their Craigslist post with a discounted price. Easy and straightforward process. I've used these guys approximately 1 - 2 times a year for the past 3 - 4 years. Totally probably like 5 times. Never had a problem. Delivery and pick-up were always within expected times. The latest box I had was charged an extra fee. Called them up and they explained overweight fee due to it was over the allowed tonnage for the size box I got, and they were able to give me the exact tonnage that it was. This place is a SCAM. Do NOT do business with them. We ordered a 20 yard dumpster since we were redoing our roof, we requested it for the Sunday. They showed up 2 days later after we called to see what was going on. On day 4 of having the dumpster we woke up to find it gone. We were up until 12am and my husband left for work at 5am and it was gone. Natalie at the office kept giving excuse after excuse, saying we requested that day for pick up, which we didn't. She said it was overweight and that's why they picked it up, a regular house worth of shingles and roofing material? I don't think so. She said they would send a 5 yard dumpster out to pick up the rest of the stuff, then called back to tell us that she can't get it sent out because we requested that pick up date according to the contract, which she NEVER emailed us as she said she did because she said the driver would bring the the contract and he didn't. As my dad is on the phone with her she emails a contract claiming she sent on Monday. Please do not use the business. They will scam you out of money and they need to be shut down. read more

I give it a one star for being fast and best priced (Originally). Minus the 4 stars for shady service. I ordered a 15 yard container for my remodel and was on the phone with someone about delivery the same day within minutes. Pricing was very competitive. When the box was delivered, the delivery person gave me a 20 yard box because they did not have anymore 15 on hand and made me believe that I could use the full 20 yards and only be charged for the 15. I pretty much made up my mind that they would be getting a rave 5 plus star review. Jump to 7 days later, a rep calls me to tell me I went over my alotted weight by 1.25 tons. I'll have to pay almost 100 dollars additional. WTF? I go online and check, and see that the 20 yard box max is 3 tons, and I only went over .25 which is roughly $20 dollars additional. Heres the breakdown of difference: 15 yards: 335 20 yards: 369 My total purchase: 432.96!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats just about 64 bucks additional. Not OK. I call the company back and explain the situation, and the rep Evelyn tells me that even though I was delivered 20 yards, I could only use 15 ---- something the delivery person didn't mention. Since they delivered straight to the landfill, we can't be refunded, but if in the future I wanted to order from them again, I could get a discount. Hmm, unless I plan on doing a remodel within the next 10 years, I don't see why I would rent a container. I asked if I could just pay for the 20 yard container even though it was not my fault one was delivered to me and she said "too late... even if you had the 15 yard, you would have gone overweight." Reallyy?? I asked for a manager, and was told they weren't in the office. When I asked for a name and contact, she said she couldn't give me their name, but would make a note and have them call me back. I think we all have made the remark "make a note" before. Not expecting a call back, but will definitely be making some noise. I will definitely be making some reccommendations to stay away from this place. Not just to homeowners like me but to contractors and others as well. I think- deliver what your customer ordered or comp them for the accomodation. My apartment complex is in a heavily congested area. We were doing a small scale renovation to the property to keep my tenants happy. I realized that I needed a debris box, but I didn't have a use for an extremely large one. I contacted 7 days box for a quote and Evelyn advised me to order a 20 yard box which had a 3 ton weight limit for $365. I had considered being generous by allowing my tenants to throw away their large bulky items to fill up the box. So I asked Evelyn if there were any surcharges or forbidden items that weren't allowed. She said there were additional surcharges for weight overages (depending on weight), mattresses ($20), and tires ($15) and that no hazardous waste was allowed... Makes sense! Good thing she let me know because I was not about to subsidize my tenants by paying for their large item junk removal. I don't know what types of things they'd end up throwing in there anyways! With all the anticipated leftover space, I contacted the neighboring complex owner to see if she had any use for the dumpster rental. Luckily, she did! I said I would coordinate everything, and she would just have to pay me $200 for use of the 7 days box. We would split the use of the box 50/50... It's a small profit for my coordinating services. The box was delivered to my complex within 48 hrs, and we had 7 days to fill it to our hearts' desires. It was time for us to get to work, by "us" I mean my contractors. After 4 days of hard work filling it, we were behind schedule and probably needed the box for an extra day or two. I figured I can try to call 7 days box to get a day extra at a discount. It was worth a shot to save some money. I had my sad sappy story of construction delays ready to tell whoever picked up. I was ready to take the customer service rep ON! And then sweet sounding Evelyn picked up my call. Here was my chance to save some money ... but my mind went blank; I didn't know where to start. After a few embarrassing seconds, which felt like an eternity, I admitted failure and hung up without even saying a word. Then she called me back.... Damn you Caller ID! Once again she was sweet and courteous. She asked me how the renovation was going, and even gave me a 1 day grace period without any additional fees. Winning! I felt on top of the world! The pick up day came and we manage to fill the box to past the brim. At this point, I became worried about the weight being over. Before the end of the day, Evelyn called back and confirmed that there was going to be an additional charge. I hate it when my intuition is correct, but it's understandable considering I needed the complex cleaned out for the renovation. Being business savvy I passed on the overage fees to my neighbor. One thing that left a lasting impression on me. Evelyn came up with a solution for my tenants. She let me know that the city of SJ has a large collection service for bulky items, and my tenants can call to use the service for a small fee. So I posted this information in my laundromat and mailbox area with an additional message for the tenants. I asked them to stop dumping their large junk items in the Kroger's grocery store dumpster down the street and use the service. We ended up having a coordinated day for large item pickup.
