They had 4 cars in front of me, but I was out of there in about 30 minutes. they have an indoor and outdoor lounge as well as free wifi and complimentary beverages and snacks. The guys working were super friendly and made the whole experience pretty painless. The price wasn't cheap, but I didn't think it was outrageous either. Just mention yelp or the coupon and you will get $20.00 off which I think puts the price right about average. Will go back when/if I have to get resmogged. One small nitpick... and it could have just been me, but I could not find a bathroom for the customers, so I went next door to the little café. read more

Well, first of all, I passed ~ so that always helps. Second, this place was spic-n-span, with a gorgeous little outdoor "deck" to sit while I waited, complete with potted palms and bright pink chrysanthemums. I even commented on how pretty that little oasis from the garage area was (who wants to sit indoors on a beautiful Berkeley day, with emissions being blasted in the neighboring garage area?). The guy who was taking my charge card ($74, after the Yelp discount) said he'd built it himself...hmm, and I had thought it was surely the work of a (female) freelance gardener. These guys are great! The waiting room has free wifi, free snacks, free soda, and even two computer workstations for customer use while waiting. Not that I really need any of that, since I was in and out in about 15 minutes. It was late in the afternoon on a Monday, and I expected to have to wait at least 30-40 minutes, but no, they were super fast. Eric helped me and he was really nice. I highly recommend 7 days. They have great service and really take care of the customer. They will be my go to place from now on. I needed a Star Certified Test fast on an 1997 Ford. After being turned away from another garage because of the age of my car, I found 7Days. And what a find it was. I had only 30 minutes to get the test done and they told me no problem. And it was not any problem at all. I love when a business is clearly paying attention to detail and putting the customer first. I happened to be driving by with a plan to stop at the first smog station I could find on San Pablo (there seems to be one on every block). Luckily for me it was 7 days a week smog test. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. I didn't even get a chance to drink my complimentary tea or read all the good trashy magazines in the clean waiting area. If I had known, I would have brought my boxing gloves and done a little work out while waiting. This place is great! They were incredibly friendly and fast. I chose this place because I was afraid my car wouldn't pass the test (the check engine light keeps coming on) and they offer free re-tests. I don't know how their prices compare to other smog places or just taking it to your mechanic because I've only had to smog once before and that was in LA. BUT... they do offer $20 off and a free re-test if you mention their website. The total was $59 and that included sending the results to the DMV for me. The waiting room was really nice, but I didn't really get to use it because they had me in and out in 10 minutes or less! read more

I would not recommend this place unless you are sure your car will pass the smog check. The employee I encountered obviously did not care about his job and it showed in how I was treated. My car did not pass smog the first time, so I went and had it repaired. I went back in to have a re-check and worked with the same complacent employee. 7 Day Smog would not even test the car because several things had not reset yet (later I found out the car could take years to reset). So, I left again without a smog certification. I went to two different places (a dealership and specialist) to find out how to "reset" my car. Both places said that for the model of car I own it is a common problem and any certification place should know how there is an override program. I ended up going to a state-certified smog location so I wouldn't have to deal with the run around again. My point is, do not expect 7 Day Smog to be able to do anything but hook your car up and wait for the computer to say pass or fail. Troubleshooting and being familiar with override programs is not part of their capabilities. read more

Nice place. Pleasant setting, friendly, fast and knowledgeable workers. You get a nice in-door waiting room with snacks, computers, wifi and more. Outdoor waiting areas with table and chairs is nice too - in the good weather. Decent price (once you get the Yelp $20 off) and the certificate they file with the state is included in the quoted price. Should it be needed, they include a free re-test as well. My car had failed a test elsewhere and I had some questions about how long I had to drive until my car's monitors were reset. These guys were very friendly and helpful. They gave me good advice so I came in as soon as my car was ready to be tested. I haven't written that many Yelp reviews but I had to take the trouble to give this place a good review. Been taking my various cars here for a few years now, they always take less time than their estimated wait, they have a pleasant waiting room with snacks, wifi, computers, magazines and comfortable seats. Don't be off-put by their posted price which, at first glance, appears higher than competitors; these guys are just honest and include all the fees in the posted price, while others often just post a "test price" and then when it comes time to pay they add on all the "extras" i.e. cert fee, evap test fee, etc... I have a different smog place that I've used and liked, but I wanted to get this taken care of today, Sunday, so I was looking for a smog place that would be open. I saw the good reviews here and decided to give it a shot, and I wasn't disappointed at all. This is the second time I did the smog check here at 7 Days a Week. I took my Honda Accord here for a smog check because I am selling it to a AAA mechanic who came over the other day to replace the dead battery. Well, it passed the emission test and comprehensive test but failed the functional test. Steve told me that it was common due to the fact the auto sensors lost all the info needed for the smog check. He advised me to drive another 50 to 100 miles before bringing it back for a re-test. They are so friendly and their waiting area is very pleasant. I had breakfast at a cafe next to their shop.
