So it's "Della, I'd take a cup of that coffee, are you still making coffee, mine's about gone, when will you have more coffee ready?" So I've been making Aeropress all evening; they must like it. Of course we Are 27 people in the house and they want to taste the difference of Aeropress versus grandma coffee. I'm not as favorably impressed as they are, but I may be a bit snobbish about my coffee and these days I've been drinking some lovely Equador from Tandem. What we have here is pre-ground and tastes like it. Denim probably does offer better coffee. Oh, the water's hot. Here we go again.

The quality of their roasted beans is fantastic! I've used the 12.02 blend and the Colombia toffee pudding in my espresso machine, and both have pulled absolutely fantastic shots (see photo!) Denim Coffee in Chambersburg had been on my list to visit ever since it opened. I am just never in…read morethat area. I finally made it there recently when I met up with a friend. When I first entered this version of Denim Coffee, I was struck by how long it was and the lack of windows compared to the Carlisle and Harrisburg locations. As far as the product goes, same great coffee you get from their other locations. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. I liked the latte, it was very smooth and the flavor of the coffee was really good. Denim offers other drinks like smoothies and kombucha but I always go for the coffee and cannot vouch for those. They also have a limited menu and some baked goods. Not a lot of vegan food options, if any, so I've never eaten anything from any of the Denim locations. Price wise, you're paying less for these excellent, locally roasted coffee drinks than you would at corporate coffee shops or the local shops you'd find in larger cities. Any time I'm in the vicinity of a Denim and looking for coffee, I make it a point to stop in.

It is thick and syrupy.. exactly how's it's described by the owner..not really the consistency I look for in my espresso. You can taste all the flavor notes..but it's BITTER. The barista was rude..when I asked for almond milk like it was stupid of me to ask..I didn't know my question was offensive? The shop on the inside looks like idk.. scary. The ceiling tiles are janky..the floors are stained and old..the seating area as you can tell from the pictures is nothing to be desired..at all. I couldn't tell you if they have a bathroom or not..I wasn't walking back that area to find out either. It's very inconsistent.., to how the espresso is prepared ( one place has a mod bar..this one actually had an espresso machine), to how they make the shop look. Oh and my favorite...no community support. No local artists, no business cards, no outside advertisement allowed in Denims shops. I also ordered two empanadas; the only thing that wasn't authentic was the shape, but the flavor was amazing. They were chicken empanadas with chunks of potato, like they should be; not many places make them like that. If I'm ever in the area again, I will be going back.

I don't often come to The Butcher Shoppe in Chambersburg except to buy steaks, they are a butcher…read moreshop and their meats are amazing, at least that's been my experience. On Saturday, October 30th, 2026 I had a crazy craving for their cowboy steaks and went in to purchase a couple. I hadn't been there in months so to my surprise, I pointed to the two I wanted to the attendee and the total came to $105.77. The cost shouldn't be a surprise because beef is SO expensive these days. The Yt guy says, "Whoa, I hope that doesn't take your whole paycheck." Rude! but this guy has served me before and has always been pleasant. I gave his comment the benefit of the doubt and I mentioned I'm retired and I'd budgeted for this expense so. I get to the line to pay for the steaks and this older lady is standing in front of the cashier station and this super tall Yt guy who's apparently the bagger even though he didn't bag my steaks. Apparently, he's the inquisitor. He loudly asks, "Who is the Cowboy eating steak?" I responded "I am the cowboy." The older lady says, "That'll be 105.77" I swiped my debit card and she immediately shouted, "It didn't go through sir"! It was weird how loud she was. I'd been having issues at other vendors using the swipe function on my card. I decided to tap instead and my purchase went right through. It was like she wanted the customer audience to know I was having issues with the purchase. However, when I tapped instead and the purchase cleared, she had no comment. Again, Rude! The tall guy is still asking me dumb questions and I was only half paying attention but he got around to asking me a question about my car so I told him I owned a 2013 Lexus and he responded, "What do you do restore those and sell 'em?" WTF?! I'm thinking what's with all the questions? Is he thinking a black guy shouldn't own a Lexus or afford a couple of expensive steaks in this market? It was time for me to leave and take my steaks home. After I left, I was SO angry about what happened. I vowed never to come back and decided to share this situation on Yelp instead.

I could have driven to the next Dunkin 24 miles away, ordered, received my food, and driven back to this Dunkin by the time she managed to slap a piece of sausage and cheese on a tortilla and put it in a bag.
