Not having had a hot dog in more than a decade, I decided to try one on my way to a meeting. I stopped at Brewsters, which also has Nathan's hot dogs here. A teenager served me. I asked for spicy mustard, yellow mustard, relish, and the hot dog well done. He explained to me they cannot do the hot dog well done. It just comes one way so I said okay. But not happy by that but I did accept it. I got the hot dog and quickly noticed that while it was tasty, there was no spicy mustard on it as I asked for specifically. I brought it back to the ordering area and asked the male teenager about it. He told me it's on there. I'm like, "Okay I do not see it and I do not taste it so I must be getting old." I realize it's hard to hire good employees these days and especially during the summer we have a lot of college and high school kids serving in these places but come on, there's no need to lie. And also by saving a few pennies on spicy mustard or adding some additional that you can actually see if he did in fact put any on. It's not going to kill him and he's not going to be out of a job and the place is not closing down. I'll give it another chance in the future but again I don't eat junk food like hot dogs and hamburgers often so it'll be a while. I will continue to come here on occasion for the ice cream but again on occasion because hot dogs and hamburgers are in that junk food category in my mind. However on the ice cream side I do highly recommend Brewster's. Good choices including vegan non-dairy versions, which I usually get. It was a hot day outside but this location has tables with umbrellas over them to shield you from the sun. It also has a decent area in the afternoon where the sun is behind the restaurant and the front is shaded naturally so that's a good thing. read more

We stopped by 2 days in a row this past weekend, Thursday for a quick ice cream cone and we got to sample the new flavor Maple Pancake. Then we went back on Friday and got a 2 quarts of it. OMG, please do not take this flavor off of the menu. It is so so good, with lil granules of the pancake in the ice cream. It is not overly sweet, so it has just enough flavor to not be an overkill. My hotel is across the street from Bruster's Real Ice Cream. Their slogan is Bruster's "Real" Ice Cream and its throwing me. Lets break it down: There's ice, our planet is made up of 70 percent water. Ever get hit with a snowball? Trust me, its real alright Then the cream. They can get milk from Almonds? Cream is also real, so Mr Bruster, what have I been enjoying all my life that's not real?? I'll tell you what I know is real, a Buckeye. Good quality ice cream and a bit of a hangout for folks, there is plenty of parking and a few benches if you're just looking to get out of the house and get a treat. A few dozen varieties of ice cream and they'll make sundaes and shakes. I had a simple small cup of "Southern Banana Pudding" ice cream which was tasty. $3 for a small cup is a bit much but it's good stuff. This same shop also offers Nathan's hot dogs products. First off, their service is awesome. Always ready to take our order whenever we are ready. Not only is their ice cream absolutly delicious but their selection of ice cream is top tier. I haven't tried much food here but the Mini Corndogs are very good and delicious. You can go 3 times a week and everytime you go, they would some new flavors. Everything is outside but not at all is it negative. There is seating in some grass right out front and a bench to sit and wait at outside the window. Now to their website; Instead of having to put your name, email, number, adress, SSN, Tax info, your moms name, and everything else stupid, all you have to do is select your state and city/zip code and then it comes right up. THEN, you can click on menu WITHOUT having to start an order!! Isnt that awesome?? But then they give you every flavor they have and you can see nutrients, allergies, and more! This place is fantastic. Not only is the ice cream spectacular, but the customer service is excellent as well. My Mom recently had surgery and she loves the Blueberry Cobbler flavor. The owner was nice enough to make it up so that I could door-dash some to my Mom. It's rare nowadays to find good customer service, but this place truly cares about their community and customers. It's an ice cream stand in a shopping center, but it was quite pleasant the evening we stopped. There are several tables and chairs for sitting while you enjoy the excellent ice cream. We were passing through so I can't speak for all their flavors, but the butter brickle was great. The ice cream was creamy and the brickles were ample. read more

Maybe the title of the post " Real Ice Cream " is a clue.. they do have great Ice cream with a variety of different flavors. We particularly treated ourselves to the oreo ice cream. For the amount of ice cream it is pricey but good quality. We typically do not by other food there but occasionally do like Nathan's hotdogs- " made with real beef ". But tonight it seemed something was off- I don't know if there were new employees = there were 5 people working. the windows to order from were closed for some reason so the drive-through was the only way to get food- which seemed to take a long time. There was at least 5 cars ahead of me and 5 cars behind me ( not one can help this ) I ordered a hot dog and both hotdogs were cold, I handed it back to the girl. They seemed puzzled as to what to do with them- they wanted to make news ones but honestly, all they would need to do is put it in the microwave. they closed the window on me,, i beeped to ask them if they would like me to move up to a parking space so the people in the care behind me could get their order. So I did. I got the hotdog back it was still cold- the box wasn't even warm. I took it back and the girl asked me how long would I like it in the microwave ( I said some number ). I did notice in the window there were at least 5 hotdogs laying out in front of the microwave. So are they also being given to people which probably be cold by then. I got my hotdog back and it was luke warm so I ate it and it is good.. don't get me wrong,, their food is good. I just couldn't understand why 5 people could figure out how to make a hot dog warm. Will i be back - sure! If you expect food to be hot its questionable. If it wasn't so busy i would bet it would not have been so difficult. read more

Sea salted carmel toffee is really great. My daughter had mint hot fudge sundae. It's her favorite in town. Blizzards are always great!
