I've frequented this location off and on for years. There have been times where service is slow, or an item from my order is missing. Usually those are quick fixes. This time, not so much. Upon arriving to work, I put my straw into my drink and realized that a hair, presumably from a staff member, is laced into the cold foam on my drink. Being that I was already at work and unable to remedy this at the same location, I contacted Starbucks via their corporate chat. I sent them the same photo attached here. I get that people might try something like this for a freebie, but I don't see how I, as the unsuspecting customer, could have so skillfully put the hair (that isn't my hair color) into the cold foam. All I got was "sorry this was your experience." I would have liked my stars replenished and a refund for the drink I did not get to enjoy. Not to mention that this needed to be brought to Gettysburg Starbucks' attention to prevent it from happening again to others. read more

The one upside to this place is that they will sometimes have items that the one is town is periodically sold out of, but not always. Spent a week in town with my family and always had a pleasant experience here -- drinks as ordered, food as expected, and friendly staff every time. The drive thru line is pretty long in the morning, but it kept moving -- arrive before 8 am and you can bypass most waits. You're not a town unless you have a Starbucks and so Gettysburg has a Starbucks. It's located just off US 15 on US 30 and they have a drive through. Inside, a handful of tables and other seating plus power outlets and the usual wifi. My tall Blonde (gosh, I love ordering those) was hot and tasty, the usual flavor for the lighter roasted coffee. For a change, I also got an oatmeal which including small pouches of nuts, dried friut and agave syrup. Don't go here if you value your time. They continue to randomly close the inside without warning causing really long lines that never move. The other issue is that randomly they open the inside for mobile orders only. The trick is you never know this until you get out of the car line and walk up to the door to read the fine printed signs that inform you of what is going on. I sat and watched several cars get out of line and then get upset and not get back in the drive thru line. It got us once, and I have refused to go to this location ever again. There is one other location in Gettysburg a little harder to get to but probably moves faster. I'm a pretty avid customer here during my academic year and I can't begin to emphasize enough how pleasant the baristas are. They put a great deal of effort into providing a positive and individual experience for each patron. As a regular, it's even nice when you walk through the doors and your usual order is already being prepared for you and all you have left to do is scan your card. The cleanliness is always on point, I can't ever recall a time where I noticed a significant mess and while there are busy times it's never out of hand or anything the staff can't handle. I find myself to be particularly familiar with busy, as I'm from New York and have witnessed my fair share of chaos behind the coffee bar during a rush. Further, the staff is always delighted to recommend beverages to the unfamiliar and try their best to re-create the many tumblr/pinterest/internet recipes the more frequent starbs patrons are eager to try. I highly recommend patronage at this Starbucks and can guarantee Will, Nick, Emma or any of the lovely staff will have you leaving delighted with your food/beverage and with a smile on your face! read more

There is a drive-thru which is awesome and convenient...except we didn't use the drive-thru, we made the mistake of coming in. So evidently when the drive-thru line is long, all walk-in customers get to wait forever for their drinks. We watched no less than 8 drinks go through the drive-thru before we got ours. Ridiculous! I ordered two drinks, a pastry, and a fruit cup. I paid. Employee went to get my pastry. As she was bagging it, I asked if they had another type of pastry (intending to add to order not substitute). Employee very visibly rolled eyes at me, ignored question and tossed pastry on counter declaring, "here's your pumpkin scone." I ordered second food item per husbands request. When I got my drink order, they had made and charged me for a venti. I ordered a grande. I advised barista of such. They said they made a venti. No offer to replace or refund. I didn't want to rock the boat so I said no big deal, I'll take it. I then noticed that the latte felt very light. I open ended lid to see that about 3 inches of coffee was missing. I understand that sometimes the foam/whipped cream settles, but this was double the normal. I went back to counter. Waited in line because the barista wouldn't recognize me. Finally got to employer. Showed her the cup. She said that there's is typically some shrinkage. I explained again that I had ordered a grande, but been given and charged for a venti. And in fact had only received maybe a grande portion in my venti cup. No apology. But an offer to make a new one. But I'd have to wait behind the 10 other orders in front of me. Finally asked for a refund. Got the refund. No coffee. Starbucks customer service has hit a bottom. read more

I stopped in at this Starbucks for an Ice Latte' it was the worse I had ever had! I go to Starbucks for Hot and Ice Latte's all the time but this is the first time at this location. It hasn't been open very long but that's no excuse. I didn't have time to go back since I was on my way to a meeting. When we asked him to break a $20-key holder gave him a hard time...to which he quietly replied "I don't know why we can't do this...it's a perfectly reasonable request". I agree! Leadership is all about being a role model...hey key holder you derailed your employee, changed his attitude and made yourself look silly. Even if this is some crazy rule...it's crazy. I stopped here on my trip up 15.. It was really close to the highway so I didn't get off track at all. The service was very fast. I got a green tea with Splenda. It was very much shaken which how it's suppose to be but most location let my Splenda linger at the bottom. My drink was super tasty and this will be my place to stop every time I'm traveling 15. read more

This SB location used to be top notch but no longer. Over the last year the staff has nearly had a complete turnover. Staff is much less personable than before and the drinks have become less consistent. I have been visiting far fewer times than in the past. There are other cafes in the area that routinely welcome their customers and serve equal or better drinks. read more

I come here multiple times a week, usually using the drive thru on my way to work. Service is always on point, drinks come out fast (and taste great), and if you do happen to have a little bit of a wait for your drink, you get it free or get your next one free! Unprofessional employees spent more time talking to their friends and flirting then doing their jobs as the manager looked on. My drink was not made as I waited an extraordinary amount of time. Finally after their friends ( who ordered after me) were taken care off I was served ( and after I had to remind them of what I had ordered) Extremely unprofessional. The "barista" making the drinks was wearing such baggy pants his whole butt was hanging out for all to see. Thank goodness the apron was covering up his front half but honestly!
