Nice customer service but we had a bit to wait in line. They had some staff standing around for a while more managing orders than anything and it took a bit before they opened up the second register when a few more groups walked in. They were decently busy but it took a while also for a staff member to come out and clean up some dirty tables for the new groups to have a place to sit. Our table ordered the veggie burger and poutine for the meals. The veggie burger was kind of falling apart from the start but I believe there was just too much patty/topping for the small bun that they used. I had the poutine with added chicken. The size for decent for the price but the flavor was just not meeting the price point. The added chicken was just plain cut-up chicken strips and it had very little flavor. The brown gravy is where most of the flavor was coming from but there was a mass amount of sodium coming from it. The combination of the salty fries and gravy was overbearing and became too much after about half the order. I also got the loaded fries which a super filing and have lots of flavor and texture. My wings were piping hot, full of flavor and lots of crisp. Oh Canada, what have you done? 6ixty wings is a company that is based from our friends up North in Ontario, Canada. San Antonio is the first location opening in the US, so maybe this is an audition to becoming our 51st state, Eh? Living in the great state of Texas, I'll give you some unsolicited insight before you open up your restaurant in other locations. Although the restaurant looks like a knock off of our beloved Buffalo Wild Wings, using the same color scheme and menu, it does fall short of it. The taste of the wings was good, or at least the Sweet Chili and the Buffalo BBQ, but the size of the wings was more like bite size or what you would find off a bar menu. So listen carefully our Canuck friends, everything is supposed to be bigger in Texas. Before you go on looking like a hoser, the other two future Texas locations in Dallas & Houston are huge sports towns, so the one TV and playing loud club music is not going to cut it here. Luckily, the restaurant is well kept, clean and lots of young folks coming in and out. We were in the mood for wings and stumbled upon this new place. When we arrived there was a good amount of parking since it was in a shopping center. When we walking in the atmosphere was nice and the place looked brand new. The server helped us with the menu since it had so many flavors. We ended up ordering the Spicy Garlic Parm, Devils Ranch, Honey Dill, and the Spicy Cajun. We also ordered the Kids Chicken Nuggets. And we had to try the Xango Raspberry Cheesecake. I ordered the 6ixty Signature Combo, which comes with 12 wings (I chose Lemon Pepper and Garlic Parmesan), Loaded Fries, and a drink. Let me tell you--everything was bursting with flavor! The seasoning on the wings was just right--crispy and juicy! The loaded fries surprised me with peppers on top, but it actually added a spicy twist I didn't know I needed. The service and ambiance were great. The staff took time to walk us through the menu and checked in regularly to make sure everything was great. Kid at the register does not appear to have any f's to give. He told me he'd bring a water out about 20 mins ago. Soda machine is not working. First time in. Gonna see first hand if Canadians know anything about Hot Wings. They've got 60 flavors here, thus the name 60 wings. Today we got lemon pepper and devils ranch with the loaded fries. All bone in wings. 2 pounds of wings and loaded fries and two pops for $41.12 out the door. Well unless you want ranch dipping sauce and that's a $1.75. So add that to the $41.12. They have Coke Zero but no Diet Coke. Which according to my wife is important to some people. Like Trump. The loaded fries were quite good. They offer heat levels 0-5, five being the hottest. The devils ranch was a 4 heat level and lemon pepper a 1. First impressions - I like my wings a little crispier, but these were cooked well. There was not a lot of heat on the devils ranch at first but it creeped up on you and bit you pretty good. So yeah a 4 was hot. Overall we will be back. An exclusively Canadian wing chain opening exactly ONE location in the United States and it happens to be within walking distance of my house?! The stars aligned on this one - and I have had my eye on this place for the entirety of its construction. Finally opening up, it was time to try things out. A few things from my research leading up to the big opening: First, if we are going just by price point on a basic combo (6ixty sells by the pound, which averages to about 10 wings) the 10 wing combos from BWW and Wing Stop best 6ixty by $3. They also allow you up to two flavors with the combo, while 6ixty allows one, kind of disappointing for a place that boasts 60 flavors...let me try more of them in one go! Additionally, 6ixty notes on their website that their hottest flavor, killer heat, is "The hottest we've got. Find out for yourself." which is weirdly word for word what Wing Stop has written on their website for the atomic flavor. Not sure what's going on there... Anyway! Given this place just opened, I went in ready to give some grace knowing it takes time to get things into a sweet spot. Taking into consideration locations are franchises, experiences will be different everywhere. Well let me be the first to say- this location is phenomenal! From the moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff, who promised we were going to love it. They were absolutely correct. The person taking orders at the counter (JJ) took time to explain to customers the menu, and even very miraculously accurately guessed what both mine and my partner's preferred wing flavors would be. Psychic at the cash register is a definite first for me. Our food took a bit to come out, but again they are new and can't be cranking out orders when they don't know what to expect yet. The food that arrived hit exactly the right spot. We went with boneless sweet heat and straight to the top with killer heat bone in. The fries were on par with what you'd expect anywhere, so the wing flavors were what had to shine. Both were delicious and the chicken was perfectly fried and simultaneously juicy. The killer heat didn't exactly knock me flat as expected, but I will say the flavor in particular was far superior to the spiciest at other wing joints. Typically when a place goes spicy, they completely ruin the experience with a very off putting flavor. The killer heat did no such thing. Didn't melt my face off, but tasted good enough to certainly order again. The franchises are capable of having a bar, which this one doesn't at the moment. I assume eventually once the clientele picks up and licensing can be achieved they will. All in all, I definitely recommend trying it out and can't wait to see how it soars once they truly get their wings (ba dum tss). Just want to once more shout out the stellar customer service we received from JJ and all the staff. Will be back to visit soon! read more
