I am not advanced in kickboxing, but I have been to many different kickboxing gyms in the past 10 years. I have taken classes from different instructors at each gym. So far, this gym and the ilovekickboxing in Astoria were the best ones (all the instructors were amazing and helpful). Unfortunately, they no longer offer kickboxing classes. The instructors acknowledge you, walk around, interact with you, and correct your moves. Other gyms have inconsistent instructors who are busy on their phones typing, staring at the time, or practicing their next move instead of interacting with their students. So I really appreciate all the staff at this location for always giving their attention to their students. They also offer the best price. I used to take their Muay Thai classes since there were not many kickboxing class, but they're so packed. In the Muay Thai classes, I get paired with other people, so my workouts depend on who I partner with. I understand why they replaced the kickboxing class and why there's many people who come here. Keep providing the best price and service. You need to expand your space.

I joined right after my trial lesson. Instructor Santiago has taught me so much about self defense. Instructor Leo has taught me that you are never too old to learn Tae Kwon Do. Lessons are expensive. I joined because the trial lesson was outstandingly fabulous. My first actuall lesson was very difficult. I wanted to quit and give up. Instructor Leo and Instructor Santiago said not to give up. Keep trying they said. Now I enjoy coming here to 81-15 Queens Blvd location. Give them a call and try the trial lesson. I see positive improvements in his confidence, attentiveness, stamina and physical health. All of the instructors and staff have a tremendous amount of patience and professionalism toward him and the younger students. They take the time to train and demonstrate to the students how to properly do the form for each belt level and make the class fun. With the amazing team and supportive older students at UXMA my son has positive role models to look up to and made a lot of friendships along the way. They have provided him with motivation to go to practice everyday to learn his forms and sparring technique and to one day achieve his black belt. They have a website/facebook/app/Instagram and upload the classes/instructors on them. They are extremely responsive on social media. They have everything you need to keep you busy. They offer pad training classes/personal training/weight training for an additional fee. What's included in the membership is UNLIMITED classes for a month. You can take all the classes everyday seven days a week. I have a high stress job and this is my stress reliever. I take it all out on the bags. There are different instructors and each has their own favorites workouts. Here you can get HIIT, pure kickboxing, more cardio based, form/skills based, weight training and more "boot-camp" style classes. The facility is clean, it has AC/heat. They sell cool workout gear/water. They also use myZone is you're into that and have multiple TV screens to check out our HR and calories burned during class--for friendly competition. Since I wasn't brought up in an environment where family members engaged in after school activities. I always thought that all of these activities such as boxing, dancing, yoga, martial arts, swimming, gymnastics are for those folks who just don't know where to throw their money. Upon discussing options with my partner. We finally made the call to sign them up to marital arts, so that they'd have some structure and discipline. I was quite surprised to see my kids transformed within a few weeks. They started following instructions around the house. Additionally, I would have to admit that my kids no longer sit at the couch for 20 mins in front of the TV set, when we tell them it's dinner time, shower time, etc... They take action instantly. As far as sensei goes. He may not be for everyone. However, he'd definitely someone down my alley. I like the fact that he's tough with his students and walks around the room to do adjustments in postures or moves that he's teaching during the lesson. He explains why your technique would fail you during a fight. He's one of those that will tell you how it is. Which I love! If someone doesn't pay attention or becomes disruptive, he has different variations of discipline techniques that he applies throughout the session to keep the flow going, which doesn't impede with the class. I believe this is a huge investment in your kids!
