Jason was very helpful, kind, attentive, and strategic! Definitely recommend to call him up!

My experience with 699 Rent A car customer svc it's usually Sean on phone/in person thus far has been nothing but the best, very welcoming and family like greetings! 699 Rent A car is the place to go if you're looking to rent a car for a special occasion or just to cruise around the city. They have variety cars with different price range to choose from and by far the best price option from the other companies, trust me I've looked around! They have the option to pick you up depending on your distance from the rental location for small fee to free and I've used the service each time I've picked up the car. As well as them dropping me off after returning the vehicle. I am so happy I found 699 Rental as I'll continue to do business as long as I'm in need of a rental!! read more

Great customer service, specifically Sean. Stop by and check out his Jurrasic Park fish tank. It's amazing.

Great prices super nice people very helpful. Vehicle vehicles working out great it's in good shape. I would highly recommend them.

Having had to travel for work and go through my share of car rentals, this place blew me away with their pricing and the little time spent. I was in and out quickly. In my opinion, this place is a better alternative to those rental chains, as the customer service was much more hospitable because it was family business. I can attest that my rental experience was hassle free, no wait time and they have great price options. If you're in a jam, on a budget or just need something reliable while your car is in the shop or you need a form of transportation this place is worth checking out. read more

Sean was an absolute savior with renting a car, you won't find better customer service.

Amazing customer service by Sean! Great car rental experience, from price, duration of time spent in their beautiful office, and ease of location. We were in need of a rental for our family and found 6.99 rent a car to be a gem, Sean was super helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend 6.99 Rent a Car to friends and family! read more

Great place to rent a car. Great customer service very respectful and helpful. I appreciate their helpfulness

About 5 months ago I was with out a car and went to $6.99 Rent a Car. I got excellent service from John and Lou. Who were so nice and wanted to make sure I was happy. I was very impressed with their customer service. Also I can not leave out Ashley who turned out to be so helpful. I was upset about something and she was so nice to me when, I was not at my best. So sweet and kept me calm that's great customer services. I kept come back to them because of how they deal with their customers. They find a way to help you if they can. Thank you read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!! Horrible customer service. He gave me a car with the tail light out. I only had it for less than 3 hours because I had to go back to work so I returned it right after. He still charged me a WHOLE DAY for it and even said on the invoice I had for for 1 day 5 hours. He didn't want to give me a full refund and tried to make an excuse and say it's not bad to have the light out. I will never come back. If I can give no stars, I would! HORRIBLE read more

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the staff. I had a positive experience with 699 Rent-a-Car. They were able to provide me with a great rental rate and the employees were professional and welcoming. Thank you! will definitely be coming back here. read more

I'd give this place a zero star a but I'm unable to. I'd have to go back multiple times because they give me shitty cars with multiple mechanical issues. The worst rental car place ever. I would never go back to this place ever. They give you clunker cars that you would never ever dream of driving ever the for the rest of your life. The $6.99 per day that they are renting out has manual windows and smells horrible. Just go somewhere else and get your money's worth! Such a horrible experience! Never again! read more

This place is a joke!! I bought a groupon for $30 off of a vehicle with unlimited mileage for at minimum 4 day rental. When I went to pick up my rent a car they said that they don't accept any coupons during the summer.. no where on Groupon or the 699 website does it say anything about that. Then you must bring your own proof of liability insurance. Which I did. The girl asked me if it was full coverage and I said no it was just liability. They said I had to get a comprehensive and collision insurance as well for an additional 10 bucks a day. I was pissed. And even more pissed when I read the receipt they gave me that clearly says I do not have to buy insurance from them or the 3rd party to rent the car. Not to mention I drove to Vegas In the piece of crap and practically broke down because the ac wasn't working properly.. thanks!! To yourself a favor and rent from a reputable company. Not this bs one! read more

My car needed service and it was a Sunday and this was the only place open. Super sketchy neighborhood should have been the tip off. Did all the paperwork for a VW parked out front. The guy told me not to worry about the warning light, he just needed to set the clock. Got in, could barely adjust the seat, pulled into traffic, the car felt jumpy and the tires had a weird rubbing sound. The car felt dangerous to drive! I immediately returned the car and told the guy my concerns, he said he would check it out. I was shaking from driving it! They have a $300 charge on my Visa also lets see if they release it. Lots of signs hanging around about all the charges you will get for parking tickets and gas etc... read more

First off... TAKE PICTURES OF THE CAR BEFORE YOU RENT WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!! I can't stress that enough. I rented a Kia from them for a decent price to take to Vegas for a 2 day trip. Within the 2 day period I had parked the vehicle as far as I could from any other vehicles to guarantee that there would be no problems as far as anyone hitting the car. Like literally, I parked blocks away from the event I was participating in just to ensure that the car was safe. Anyway, upon returning the car, the lady who helped me said that there was a scratch on the vehicle. She mentioned that that part of the vehicle had been damaged previously, but that this scratch was new. Anyway, I bit the bullet because I foolishly did not photograph the vehicles state before it was turned into me. Since I was using my credit card, she suggested I use my renters protection on the card. After everything was said and done, they reported to the insurance company that this scratch was about $990 worth of damage on the vehicle. The whole process took about a month and a half. Will never rent from here again and I would warn you to take my advice and just rent with a bigger company. If you must rent with 699 photograph the vehicle so you won't be sorry. PS: 699 also has you use your own insurance to rent from them as they offer no sort of coverage on their vehicles. read more

699 RentACar - The $1000 scratch - Car Rental Near Me - Van Nuys, California

Unprofessional, very negative and unpleasant experience. Do not recommend this place at allm

Needed a car for about six weeks. Took the $7.50 a day rate with 47c a mile.Lou from day one was great never tried to up sell me on extra insurance as I took proof of full coverage on my kids cars. He put me in a 80000 mile Chevrolet Aveo a little scrapes here and there it ran smooth and AC blew cold.I explained I was taking a trip to Oceanside and he offered that I call him a couple of days before and offered to try put me in something better(same price. The Chevy was fine so after a trip to Oceanside and local use I returned the car today and it worked out about $13 a day inc miles. Can't beat that ! Highly recommended ! Not a one year old Enterprise car but for the money it's awesome value ! read more

After my fiasco with Old Town Auto & Tire, I knew I'd need to rent a car. I came here. The $6.99 is only beneficial if you don't drive more than 40 miles a day. I'd get the $21.99/100 mile day. It's just not worth counting miles. In...out...no nonsense. Bring license, proof on insurance and credit card. Done. No corporate b.s. that you get from the big name rental places. And they're opened (limited hours to 2PM on Sundays). The Sunday opening saved my ass. read more

This place is the worst rental car company I have ever experienced. My girlfriend rented a car from here due to the lower proices they offered - unfortunately the cars they rent are not serviced and in most cases quite dangerous. First vehicle had to be returned on our time due to the registration needing to be renewed - which they werent even aware of until we told them. The replacement vehicle "check engine" light came on 3 days later while on the freeway and car started smoking due to coolant exploding inside the hood - we BARELY made it off the freeway. Called the place and 2 hours later they sent a tow truck with another replacement vehicle - we drove that home and two hours later when we came outside the left front tire was completely flat - we called AAA to come out and filled the tire with air to see if there was a nail etc. in the tire - it was a valve leak which most likely means it was flat at their location and they filled the tire and sent it out to us. Upon calling them to report this they said it was our problem and if the car wasnt returned by 5pm the next day they would charge additional day even though both cars we had been given were non-operational for two days and she was stuck without transportation to work. When she took another half day off work to get the car there in time while driving on a very badly maiontained "donut" tire and asked for them to compensate her a day or two of the rental fee back due to the extreme inconvenience their awful vehicles had caused the manager and employees were hostile. rude and confrontational. SHe left in tears and they said that the best they could was MAYBE refund $20 BUT since the car that basically exploded coolant and almost got us killed on the 110 fwy. North was returned with less than a full tank of gas wer would probably be charged more, This place is a complete rip-off and there is ZERO customer service - easily the worst experience I have ever had with a business of any kind. STAY AWAY. read more

Great prices, great customer service! Louis went above and beyond the norm to get me a rental car when other places wouldn't help me. Not only that but he gave me good advice on where to buy a car: Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills. I got a fantastic deal there on a Toyota Corolla and having spent a week researching prices on them I knew couldn't pass it up. 699 Rentacar felt like renting a car from a friend or a next door neighbor. read more

This place is the worst they will get you every way possible on the return in my experience.

I've rented from here 3x - each time is better and better. They paid for my uber, I got a Mustang cheap and was done. It was inexpensive so I was a little worried about reliability as I've had issues with other rental spots but the Mustang this last time, the Mini before and the Fiat all were great. read more

Came here to rent a van when my family came to visit. The 1st van overheated and I had to return the car the next day. I had to wait about two hours for another van. Just returned my first rental car from the Van Nuys location this morning. When I picked up yesterday, Sean (Shawn?) took care of me and was super friendly and sweet. I reserved an economy car but they didn't have one, so I got a free upgrade and it happened to be a new car as well. Score! It wasn't exactly sparkling clean and the alignment was a little squirelly, but compared to my own car (which is barely driveable, thus the need for a rental), I felt perfectly safe. When I returned this morning it took all of two minutes and I was done. I didn't get the name of the gentleman who took care of me this morning, but he was wonderfully friendly, too. I also found out they will pick you up/drop you off (within a 3 mile radius) if it's during the week and they have enough staff to cover, which I was shocked to hear. Considering their prices I wouldn't expect ANY kind of concierge service (and if you do when using places like these, you're delusional and selfish - just sayin'). Since they charge per mile (there's the catch - 38 cents per), it turns out I would've done better if I'd gone with the $21.99 + 100 miles deal, but there wasn't really any knowing that till it was after the fact in this particular situation as I wasn't sure how much I'd be driving, so that's certainly no fault of theirs (basically, if you know you're gonna travel more than 40 miles, go with the $21.99 deal - it's still way cheaper than any other company out there). My total ended up being $32.17. The same time frame at Enterprise with an economy car would've cost me almost $40 BEFORE any extra surcharges or taxes. So...even without the $21.99 deal, still winning, especially with the free upgrade. Next time I'll just know better. :-) ALSO a very pleasing aspect - no one tried to upsell me the insurance, which I know for a fact since my brother used to work for Enterprise, is a completely unnecessary expense if you're using a credit card, because the credit card covers rental car insurance for you nine times out of ten if your car insurance does not (take note! don't be bamboozled!). Lastly, these guys are open seven days a week and don't force you to rent the car for three days over the weekend because they happen to be closed on Sundays. So anyway, I've rambled long enough. I had a GREAT experience with this company and I will absolutely use them again! read more

Go somewhere else. This place is awful with the worst costumer service. I tried to fill the car with gas and the gas latch was broken. They did not tell me this when I rented the car. I was at the gas station for half an hour trying to get the gas tank door open. I barely made it home with no gas. It took 2 people to open the gas tank door. These people are straight up fools. Spend a little more money and go to Enterprise. read more

to be honest.... car in this rent a car company is terrible.... very old and some part is something wrong...etc But if you want to rent for long term... and drive much it is maybe worth. If you drive a lot... then go to regular rent a car company...it will be cheaper:) They are not professional and not very nice ( sometime nice... :( ) read more

This place is absolute garbage!!! They charged $40 for a day for this crappy car that the horn didn't work which I'm pretty sure is illegal to rent a car that's not fully functional. In terms of value, it is the worst!!! Much better off with at other car rental! Btw they forced me to buy additional insurance. So anyone who is a tourist, I highly recommend that you stay away from this place!! Oh and they gave me the car dirty, with an empty gas tank! STAY AWAY! read more

After reading some of the mixed reviews..ranging from horrible to wonderful, I figured I'd chance it, and made a reservation with the Van Nuys location. Everything went great! I loved the rental car, and I found the customer service to be excellent. I could not imagine what everyone was complaining about! A couple of days into my rental, a problem arose when the contract that was e-mailed to me was Not the deal I signed up for!! I thought.(here we go)..but after I got through to the Hollywood office and explained my situation to Jason, he could not have been kinder and more assuring that everything would be taken care of. He explained the problem to Patrick in Van Nuys, and I could not have been more pleased by how quickly they corrected the problem. I found them both to be very honest and helpful! I know some people say their cars are crap, and maybe I got lucky, but I would most definitely rent from them again! With such great deals, I wouldn't mind putting up with a couple of minor inconveniences! read more

I had a great experience. Wanted a smoking car so they gave us an older car that had been smoked in. Not the newest car but it got me around great. I knew renting there may not be top of the line like at Enterprise, but able to rent with my Bank Card and full coverage. I was pleased.. Luis helped us so much, gave us suggestions and exact direction as to where we wanted to go. Luis was friendly, knowledgeable and all around nice and helpful. Give that man a raise! Thank you Luis. read more

Great experience with this company. I rented a compact for three weeks for the same price other places would've charged me for less than 1 week. Granted, you don't get the bells and whistles, but what you do get is a reliable point A to point B car on the cheap, and if that's what you want, you can't go wrong. John helped me out at check-in and check-out in the Van Nuys location and he was very personable and accommodating. I will definitely be renting from here again next time I visit LA. read more

I reserved (and paid) for a 7-seater with one of the major rental places three days prior to when I needed it. On the morning of I get a call from them saying that they were unable to locate an SUV for me and they would have to cancel the reservation. (4 days later I'm still waiting for my refund). 5 hours before planned pickup I called 699RentACar and was told that they did not have an SUV or minivan available at their Van Nuys location but that they could bring one from another location and have it ready for me. At 3pm it was there waiting for me and my weekend was saved. Great customer service, good rates, the "early model minivan" is just that, older model with 100K+ miles but it ran just fine all weekend. I have nothing but praise for the Van Nuys location of 699 RentACar. read more
