I knew I wanted a lox bagel and the young gentleman at the counter helped me with the vietnamese ice coffee which I THINK he recommended caramel? or maybe it was vanilla. Either way, it was superb. The interior is small but that's no worries for me, I enjoyed my breakfast at home. I appreciated that the pickle was wrapped separately. I love pickles but I don't want pickle juice infiltrating my bagel. Portions were solid and well balanced. The bagel itself was soft and crunchy and bit through without fuss. ONE STAR** VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE REVIEW ONLY I'm giving 5th Ave Bagelry five stars because I don't like bringing down the rating of a small business. However, I want to be very clear that THIS REVIEW IS SOLELY ABOUT THE VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE. If I were rating the Vietnamese iced coffee itself, unfortunately, I would give it 1 star. It's advertised as Vietnamese iced coffee, but what I received tasted like a regular iced coffee--watery, mild, and lacking the strong, bold, rich, almost chocolatey flavor you expect from a traditional Vietnamese iced coffee. Honestly, it wasn't much different from an iced coffee you could pick up at a gas station. The small ice was correct and appreciated, but unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't there. I really don't think this particular drink should be called Vietnamese iced coffee because it sets an expectation that the drink simply doesn't deliver. Again, this isn't a review of the business, food, or service--ONLY THE VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE. If you read some of my reviews, then you probably have an idea of how I feel about bread based items. What I appreciated about this place is that they didn't advertise as "New York style bagels." I'm not going to expand on that. I was hesitant when I first walked in because I really had a taste for a bagel, and I didn't want to be disappointed. I asked the young man at the register if they had plain bagels because it didn't appear as if there were any in the display. He said, "Yes," and I ordered exactly that. He was really nice and appeared to have a pleasant demeanor of curiosity as to why I ordered it plain, pointing out available options. After he handed it to me, I looked in the bag at it and, I told myself to not judge the taste based on its appearance. Im glad I didn't! It was a very good bagel. Surprisingly crispy on the outside, a little chewy, yet still fluffy on the inside. I'm sorry, thats the best way for ME to explain it. You may be wondering where that little bit of hesitation mentioned above came from right? Well, if not, I'm going to tell you anyway. The bagel, at presentation was a little too light for me. But, when I took it home, sliced it open, popped it in the toaster, and spread a heaping amount of butter on it , like I like it, It was just perfect. So much, that I returned the next morning. Yummmmmm. Finally got to try this bagel spot and I've been back several times since. Staff is very friendly. It is small inside with 2 tables, but additional tables right outside. First time we came in, it took about 15 mins to get 2 bagels. It was pretty busy. Last 2 times, we got our bagels in about 5 mins. The garlic, onion, and spinach bagels were our absolute fav. As for the cream cheese, we've tried both the honey walnut and chive. Can't decide which one is the fav, because they were both. If you are looking for something more savory, hubby liked the Denver omelette bagel. As for the drinks, we tried the Vietnamese coffee. Tasted great. Flavor was there, and did not taste watered down. The bagel is very fresh and a reasonable amount of smoked salmon for the price. Proportions of the bagel to cream cheese to salmon was perfect! Would recommend this bagel. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant, however this was not as delicious, there was very little ham or cheese. But given that this is a bagel shop, I would stick to the bagels. My sister and I were craving bagels and saw this place was nearby and had great reviews. After coming, I can definitely see why. The location is clean and brightly lit. The customer service was fantastic, too. As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by a staff member who told us we can ask any questions. He showed us the dozens of different flavors of bagels and how they had some of their own spreads in the refrigerated section on the side. The selection is TOP NOTCH. We got a wife selection and they were all soft and delicious. My sister also got the honey cream cheese spread and said it was so good, she spread it on crackers and every bagel we bought. It's a small shop, but they're usually fully stocked with all the bagel variations. Service is always fast and the employees are always polite and working hard. I love that the vibe here is relaxed and you can enjoy your bagel in peace, especially on Sundays. The nail salon next door is closed on Sundays so parking is very easy to find. This was my first time here and I was so pleased with everything! When first arriving I was immediately greeted and had my order taken. There was one other person in the store eating his meal. If I had enough time I definitely would've myself because it was very cozy and calm in there. I ordered a turkey sandwich on an everything bagel and it was very good! I'm not a huge breakfast person so for me this was perfect to take on the go. I was also there while a door dash driver (I think) was picking up an order. They had it ready for them to take instantly which was really cool to see. They had my food and drink out in less than 7 minutes which I really appreciated.
