Group of 4 of us wanted a fun friends night out for Korean BBQ! We were warmly greeted when we walked in, and asked if we had ever done Korean BBQ before, which was nice to ask for those that aren't familiar. We waited about 5 minutes so they could preheat the table grill. They have tables for really any size group. QR code menu at the table allowed us to order what we wanted, it was pretty much all covered under the $35.99/pp AYCE price, drinks excluded. Started with some apps- Japchae was OK, surprised there weren't more veggies. Tteokbokki was not spicy as described, but was so good! Cheese dogs were fun, the mustard on the outside was very good. Favorite apps by far were the beef mandu dumplings and fried shrimp! All of the bulgolgi meats were excellent- regular beef, regular pork and spicy beef! Highly recommend. Pork belly was perfect, and kalbi ribs were nice and thinly sliced with a good marinade. Salmon and shrimp were fine, but both were very plain, perhaps an option for garlic shrimp?! Sauces were a split decision at the table, two of us thought they were great, and two thought they needed more soy-based options. Had some plum soju (rice wine), the sweet was nice against some of the spicy meats. Brown sugar bubble tea was fresh, but the tapioca pearls were very hard, needed to be cooked way longer. Mai Tai was a good balance of fruity and boozy! Definitely save room for a Melona bar for dessert- they are a popular Korean dessert that is a perfect blend of ice cream and a Popsicle. Does stand out from all the new options in the area as it's easy to find and so spacious inside. Food was good and fresh. No complaints about any of the meat cuts or dishes. In addition to my previous review I have a couple of suggestions. 1. Could there be additional entree options for vegetarian friends or family members to be able to dine in together? My recommendation would be Bibimbap and/or Dolsot Bibimbap, Gimbap, Ramen, Soba Noodles, etc. 2. Could you add more vegetables and sesame oil to Japchae? It's a little bland as of now. 3. Absolutely horrible experience, I don't think I've had such a poor experience at a restaurant before. Not only was the quality of the food extremely poor, the customer service was even worse. No greeting, no instructions on how to use the menu or grill (though I didn't need it as I'm a well experienced in Korean food but it's just the thought) they also ran out of stock of the main food items ordered and didn't say anything about it until asked. I'm used to authentic Korean food, and this wasn't anything near. Think extra watered down food and the sushi had lettuce in it. The worst part of all? When I brought up the concerns there wasn't one apology and instead blame and the manager went back and forth with me. Extremely unprofessional and he mentioned the food wasn't Korean food? I almost laughed at the thought. The manager offered absolutely no solution but to discount our total an offensive amount off, he suggested 10% off at first. All the food was uneaten. Edit: Since posting these reviews and being met with the replies from the owner on multiple platforms, it all just further more solidifies my review and the issues that occurred. The customer service is beyond awful and if you read the replies there is no resolution offered, just confrontation. "41 items were ordered and prepared" and left uneaten. Let that sink in on how bad the food quality has to be for that lol. Though I'm doubtful on the amount claimed regardless as another simple lie was stated saying we accepted 10% off our bill. What I don't appreciate is the blatant lies throughout their replies but I'll let their public replies speak for themselves. Be aware - public information incorrectly states that the restaurant is open until 10. They will not actually seat you after 9 pm I did suggest that they correct the public listing about them being open till 10 but they just seemed confused. Atmosphere: They did a great job with the renovation. The inside was clean and fairly organized. They do have a smaller waiting area to be seated. It's nice they kept the hibachi hoods over the tables so you don't walk out smelling all smokey. Huge parking lot so plenty of space to park. Service: Our server was great we had a group of 4 and she did her best to keep up with all of our orders, only one item was missed and she remedied that almost immediately. She refilled our condiments quickly too. Food: This place is amazing. I've been to koren bbq places before and this was a really awesome experience. There wasn't anything I tried that I didn't love. Ordered my first order through Uber eats (I usually get gingerroots but they were closed.) What a disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An entree was missing from the order (when I called in about it the hostess said it was the kitchens fault and to drive over there to get it...uh no...or call Uber eats for a refund!) The miso soup was iced cold, and the beto box was quite small for its price ($26.) The positives. Great Bulgogi but one was to be spicy and they did not do that either so had to add my own thai chilis. Great space and service, with a variety of KBBQ options for this area! We did the Supreme AYCE 2 hour experience. Our order was placed via QR code, and we were serviced by a waiter and bot. Table was set with individual rice bowls and sauce trays (sesame oil, soy sauce and chili flakes), a couple bowls of greens. Food came out in good portions, looked fresh, and flavorful. 1st off I have only ever had California Korean BBQ which I believe is superior to all others. lol. I was not a big fan of this place. The meat selections were nice and tasted good. But there were no radish papers. They have lettuce. Not the same taste when eating. They offer vegetables. Have never seen that at a Korean bbq place. You Also usually you get little bowls of kimchi, salad,. Etc. I didn't find it super authentic. But the service was excellent. Very friendly staff. Clean place. Nice dining experience. This restaurant just opened in Appleton the first week of June 2024. We loved it! We ordered from the lunch menu, I've included pictures of the menu but forgot to take pictures of the table when the food arrived. Whoops, we were just so excited to begin our meal! The tables-each one seats four- have a small grill in the middle and the plates of meats, we ordered some pork, chicken and beef options, are delivered ready to cook on the grill. Condiments and lettuce leaves are served as well. Then we put the meats on the grill to cook and wrapped them in lettuce leaves with some condiments. Delicious! The waiter was very attentive, he explained how to properly prepare the meats and steps involved, wrap in lettuce, etc. The meal is all-you-can-eat with a set price per plate and includes a selection of appetizers, noodles, vegetables, meats and desserts. The waiter came by often offering us more food to cook/enjoy. Beverages aren't included, but they have options, Asian imports, some with alcohol, like sake and some soft drinks like sac sac juice, very yummy!-as well as American choices like Spotted Cow and other beers and Pepsi, lemonade, etc. It's a great concept and authentic, my husband and I have traveled to Asia and restaurants like this are common. We looked around the area and saw this Korean bbq spot and another one close by, we decided to come to this one because we saw that some of the food on their menus are different from the usually AYCE Korean bbqs in the Midwest. The food tastes great and is fresh. Their appetizers definitely are more diverse and outperform many other ayce Korean bbq areas in the Midwest. While this is great, one of the downfall I see if that some of their meats quantity's are not very consistent. Some meats/dishes came in small amount, and then some others came in with a lot. It was my partner and I eating there, and our first two rounds of food orders were a perfect amount for both of us. The portions were not a lot for each dish. This was good, knowing we can order other dishes still since we did AYCE and they are not so much quantity. We were still able to go for one last round of order, but we noticed when our last round of order came, it had way more quantities of food for some of the orders. Since we didn't expect the portions to be so big unlike the other previous ones, we couldn't finish all of it. I tried to each as much as I can so we won't get overcharged, unfortunately there was a few of the bulgogi left that we couldn't cook to eat anymore. We told the waitress and she told us she will have to charge us for it. It didn't really make any sense cause we had a few veggies and side dishes we didn't eat either but we were charged over the small beef dish we were honest about not being able to finish. But she was a very attentive waitress. She always came back to make sure we had what we needed and was very nice. If the dishes just came out a little more consistent in sizes, or if it states how much quantity is in each dish (that doesn't state 1 piece per order) then that will be very helpful to us customers. If you like Korean BBQ, this is an awesome place to go. They have a huge selection of protein and vegetables. The single portions were perfect. The service was really good. The wait staff did a great job at making sure my water stayed full. They were very knowledgeable of the process and was more than willing to help if it was your first time. The overall atmosphere was nice and was mostly clean. It wasn't overly smokey. I do think the cleaning staff could pay a little bit better attention to wiping the tables down better but it was overall clean. I've been to Korean BBQs before. Some are good some are ok. This would fall in to the latter. The service was sloooooow. They failed to refill condiments. The selection of food was limited. All reasons to go elsewhere. I get it the slower they are the less you'll eat, and that equates to them making more money. But to be honest I just wanted to eat and get out of there. They have these little robots that bring the food out and they move rather slowly. Then the waiter/waitress has to take the food from the robot and deliver it to the table. Most of the time the waiter and/or waitress was literally walking behind the robot (or should I say crawling?). So why couldn't they just walk the food out themselves? Seemed like a gimmick that didn't really impress. Not once did my condiments get refilled throughout my whole time being there. Sorry but Korean bbq is just better with the sauces. They barely give you any in the first place and then never refilled them. Plus I had to ask for more water. The waitress also didn't seem to come to the table very often. For the price of this place, the limited number of items on the menu, and the slow or lack of service, I'd suggest spending your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I've had a lot of Korean BBQ, and this place is decent. The marinated meats aren't very good; they're just simply sweet. I'd recommend going for the thicker cuts of meat, especially the marbled beef, as it is more tender and juicy. The cold noodles pair really well with the grilled meat, so I definitely recommend getting that. The servers were really nice and willing to get you anything you asked for, so don't be shy about asking for more side dishes and sauces. However, there is a 5-10 minute wait when you arrive, which is puzzling since there were many open tables and barely anyone there during our visit. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I'd go again if I ever crave Korean BBQ and don't want to drive far. read more

I'm from LA, so I've been to many kbbq spots, from high end A5 wagyu to low end AYCE spots. We went with the intention of eating as we've been to several (including in Asia/Korea). Interesting that there are two Korean BBQ's in Appleton. We arrived and were explained the rules of ordering. A few 'cant's' and one or two 'have to's' made us decide to eat elsewhere. We were able to get Hot Pot and BBQ at Molo's a bit up the street. Really clean was my first impression walking in. This was my first experience eating Korean food this way, but not my first experience in cooking my food at my table. The cuts of beef are fantastic. We had the ribeye and hangar steak cuts. The sauces were great too. It's all you can eat as well. You order your meat in pieces and each piece is about two bites. Even if you hate "bbq" , it's a fantastic deal for a great steak cooked exactly how you want it. Everything is AYCE - the apps(also fantastic), the meats, everything.. If you don't support this place, Appleton will lose one of the best steaks you'll ever have. Not just steak though, shrimp, squid, pork, brisket, traditional Korean marinated meat and more. Been here a couple of times now, and both times I wasn't very satisfied. The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. They don't really guide you through anything, and when they see you struggling they just stand in the door to the kitchen and don't help at all. First time there I asked if they had anything besides the the piece of scrap meat fat to grease the grill since it wasn't working and all the meat was sticking and ripping apart on the grill and the server laughed at us and said "Of course!" as if we were supposed to know when they told us to use the fat when we sat down. Anytime we ordered the good cuts of meat we got one piece at a time and each piece was the size of a quarter. The other cuts were fatty and tough and not worth it. We couldn't order specific vegetables they only have a bundle, and while they had a lot of options, nothing was really executed well and a lot of the sides were clearly right out of a package and not made on-site. It's like they don't know what their thing is and they are just trying anything instead of doing a core thing really well. For the price I'd rather go to Molo or drive up to The Hot in Green Bay. read more

Best Korean BBQ arguably in the Midwest! I've eaten at Korean BBQ in Chicago (Ryuu's Asian BBQ), Milwaukee (Bawi), Minnesota (Hoban Korean BBQ), Molo (Appleton). The menu isn't the biggest at 592, but that's what makes it special. They have prepared meats which I can tell are fresh, not frozen. Service was phenomenal. Manners were on point, we were always asked if we wanted to order anything else, trays were always picked up at the end of our table without even asking, only had to ask for a refill on water once. If you've never eaten Korean BBQ before, learn how to work a grill knob to adjust your own heat. Don't expect a server to babysit your grill heat LOL. Another bonus is the grills they have are gas, not electric. Turn to max heat when cooking steak! To sum it up, the best things to order were the black pepper beef cubes(juicy and easy to cook), spicy Korean chicken wings(sauce is the boss and crunchy af), extra side of seaweed salad(fresh and cleansing), extra side of kimchi(fresh with tanginess and spice), and the Melona ice cream for desert. We also ordered the beef bulgogi spicy and original which was kind of bland. The marinated pork belly was solid but I'm not a huge pork fan. We also tried the breaded shrimp which was kind of bland but great when I dipped in my wing sauce. I have yet to try the chicken, salmon, or shrimp from the raw meats. Tried every appetizer, pork, and beef (besides the Kobe Waygu). All you can eat ice cream hit the spot too. I had 3 bars of melona and 2 mochi after my meal. Again look at what I wrote above to order for my personal recommendations. Went here the other day and was fairly disappointed with the environment. The AC does not work so it felt warmer than it was outside, which it was pretty much 90 degrees outside. The floors were wet and moist and for some reasons the walls were greasy. Even the booths felt yucky. I'm no expert, but isn't the hot humidity dangerous because it's the perfect environment for mold to grow in? Not to mention I saw some ants crawling on the floor. My thing is barbecuing creates more humidity's anyways so the fact that there was absolutely no AC made it ten times worse. Even the servers were trying to combat the heat by fanning themselves. I mean the heat could've caused a heat stroke for one of their servers. It's embarrassing that this restaurant would even allow their employees to go through a dangerous situation with the heat as it comes with serious consequences. So yes, I am very disappointed and would hope better in the future. But as for now, I would not go back and advise everyone to be aware about the atmosphere of this place.
