I am so happy with my realistic greyscale tattoo done by Nina. Over the course of 6 months she worked with me via text --the delays were primarily because of unexpected health issues on my part AND the rest on my indecisiveness on the image. I sent her some pictures of my dog with multiple ideas. I shared with her why I was getting the tattoo and it's significance to me. I was all over the place with ideas but Nina was SO Patient & Understanding. Her suggestions truly helped guide my focus and the sketches she drafted really helped in my final decision. My wife and I decided to get matching tattoos of "Luther's Rose!" After looking at a lot of websites we fell in love with Nina's line work and color. I'm 69 years old and my wife a bit younger. The problem is my skin will rip and bleed if you look at it too hard. I warned Nina about that and she was really worried. At first she thought she would just do the line work and have me go back to do the color. It turned out that with her skillful hands she was able to do it all in one sitting with no bleeding. This was taken right after she was done and you can see very little irritation. Nina is WONDERFUL to work with and the shop is clean and professional. I've already told her what I want next and she's working on it. Very worth the drive from Pasadena to Long Beach!! One thing to note is that Nina's husband, Jay, that many mention in their reviews, passed away suddenly a few weeks ago while tattooing. Ok story time. I got 2 piercings done at a different shop in LV a couple of months ago. I have been having trouble with the piercings. They are irritated and a little painful, among other things. Well today one ball fell off the jewelry, I wasn't able to get it back on. I called asking for a quote since me and my fiancé are eloping this Friday thought we would a little fun tattoo (red string of fate on the pinky finger). Spoke to a lady on the phone and right off the bat she sounded like she wasn't interested asked me if I had a reference photo and to send her a text. I did and no response so I called again to make sure they received the photo, they proceeded to reply with well do you have any other questions besides that and I said no that's all thanks, they finally responded to my text saying "Unfortunately we do not provide finger tattoos. Due to the common problems. Finger tattoos commonly fade more quickly than tattoos in other areas due to the frequent use and exposure of our hands. The skin on fingers regenerates faster, and the constant motion can cause the ink to blur or fade over time. Regular touch-ups may be necessary to maintain the tattoo's appearance. Thank you for your understanding." This message was totally understandable if they had not had photos of finger tattoos on their Instagrams business page. LNote the reason why I contacted them in the first place was because on their IG PG they had several photos of finger tattoos. Unfortunately I should have had no expectations of them since this is the second time we got turned down. The last time I did a walk in and asked if they did cover up tattoos (7in) and they automatically said no. The vibe as I entered was already a bit intimidating by r the way they approached things made things a bit more intimidating. I thought it might just have been a bad day for them but when I spoke to them this time around I got the same vibe so I'm not sure what to think. I know not all tattoo shops are like this. I came in August 11th 2024 to get a monroe peircing done. I was so excited as my bday was in 2 days and it was a nice gift from my bro. Well any way,,, she started with a tiny piece of jewelry to put in. It failed the first time she poked me with the needle ,,,so she went and got a similar small sized piece of jewelry and poked me once again with the needle. Finally she was able to get the jewelry on. I had no idea at the time she should have known to use a longer piece of jewelry at first due to swelling. No excuses. Nina and Jay-Cee are great artists, but their focus on customer service sets the bar. After a few remarks back and forth discussing the design of my latest tattoo, I had my appt on Sept 19, 2022. From the moment I walked in, I was treated like a friend, not just the next transaction. I got to talk to Nina about my job (video games) as we prepped for my tattoo. From entry into the shop to paying and exiting, it was 2 hrs 15 minutes. The time flew by. Nina ensured I was comfortable, and got to work quickly, with a hand so light it didn't feel like I was getting a solid black tattoo, but damn - it looks amazing.
