Devin, their technician, arrived at the appointed time and inspected/serviced my HVAC system, which he pronounced to be in good condition. Devin also told me that Signature Air and Heating offers a spring and fall discount and recognizes senior and veterans' discounts. At my request, Devin provided me with information about replacement HVAC systems as well as the discount incentives being offered by Xcel Energy and other companies. He was unreliable for service calls, sometimes taking 3 weeks to respond. He finally bowed out and referred the calls to the technician Chris Stibbs (who originally installed the system). Once again, I encountered delays of up to three weeks for service. Finally, the unit failed to operate. Turns out it was a lemon and required replacement, but because of all the delays in service, it was past the full warranty replacement service. I had to pay $1500 to have a new compressor unit delivered and then the cost of installation by Chris Stibbs. That was February 2023, this is now June and once again I have a problem. I have been calling both Chris Stibbs and Kurt Guardian for 6 weeks--both have ghosted me. Alpine Air technical support tells me that they think the installation by Chris Stibbs was wired backwards. I now have to hire another service company to try to fix/resolve the problems.

With that positive start, Kurt was very courteous (had booties for shoes before I even told him I prefer no shoes in house), patient with all my questions and expedient with his written proposal with no attempt to up-sale. Of 2 other companies, one never showed after changing appt time twice in one day (because of urgent issues elsewhere) and other company called to ask address since they were lost, was condescending, rushed me during inspection, questioned what type of research I had done since I was asking specific questions, then proceeded to overbid while offering to "give" me free vent and furnace cleaning. Not only did Kurt clean the furnace, but also repaired an electrical disconnect I had with my fireplace at no additional charge. Kurt stated in advance that I should plan for about 4-5 hours for the install. He called morning of appt to say he would be at my place on time (just another courtesy call), arrived on time and completed work well within the allotted time. He and James were willing to answer any questions I had during the process and kept me updated. Kurt honored his very reasonable estimate even after having to make a slight adjustment (requiring additional supplies). Quality of work is important, which they have down pact, but courtesy, integrity and punctuality are just some of the things that sets Guardian apart from others.

They charged us for an inspection that was clearly not done properly, pushed us to replace perfectly functional parts at nearly 10 times the market price, and literally laughed in my face while telling me my HVAC system was "shitty" and needed to be replaced. Three days later, the system had another issue because they completely failed to identify the actual problem. We were then pushed yet again toward more interventions and more part replacements by a manager who had never even seen the HVAC system himself and could only give vague explanations about what the issue "could" be. When I later requested my file, pictures, and full documentation from the visit, nothing was ever sent. No transparency whatsoever. We finally contacted another amazing company ALTITUD BRO HVAC-- which I strongly recommend -- and unlike UHCPC, they actually inspected everything properly. They identified the issue immediately and charged us only $400 for something that probably would have cost us over $2,000 with UHCPC. What a joke. And the funniest part? They're apparently just as bad with plumbing. We worked with them in the past on another property and, after charging us over $20,000, not only were they unable to properly fix the issues, but they also damaged one of our showers. Matt Robledo, the owner, even told us he had to fire his plumber Dave because "he was not good" and promised us compensation or future repair credits. Of course, none of that ever happened. Once they take your money, they seem to forget your name very quickly.

2026 Update: One of the exterior irrigation pipes has cracked. After consulting with irrigation…read morespecialists, we were informed that the pipes installed during the 2025 repairs were designed for indoor use rather than outdoor applications. As a result, the exposed conditions caused the pipe to fail in less than two years. The irrigation contractor will repair the damaged pipe; however, it is likely that other pipes replaced during the 2025 repairs will experience similar failures over time due to the use of the same unsuitable materials.
