I don't usually give reviews but felt compelled to do so for 5 Rivers Indian Cuisine. This place currently only does takeout but the food is truly authentic. I've tried several other places in Bellevue, Redmond, Lynnwood, Bothell, Seattle and Everett and this restaurant gets my vote for best Indian restaurant within the 50 mile radius. A must try for someone looking to try Indian food or a seasoned veteran. You won't be disappointed. read more

I believe many of the reviews for this place are fake. Read them yourself, (and look at how many reviews each person has written), and see what you think. I wish I had. I visited at dinner time on a Thursday evening with my wife and daughter, and the place was completely empty. We were there for most of an hour, and no one else came in. Since there was no music, it was a little creepy. I wondered where all the 5-star reviewers were. Our server was friendly, but seemed inexperienced, as she couldn't advise us as to how large the servings would be, and she touched the parts of the plastic sauce bottles, where the sauce comes out, with her fingers. My wife and I each ordered the butter chicken, and the kid got the chicken tikka masala. The sauces were more tomatoey than we're used to, but still tasted good. The chicken in all of the dishes, however, was tough and a little weird-tasting. The naan and rice were ok. When we want Indian food again, we will definitely go to Curries, 5 minutes north. read more

The food is phenomenal. The best Indian food my husband and I have had (and we've had a lot). But even better than the food are the owners. This is an owner operated business and you can taste the care and love in the food...I know, I know ....sounds cheesy but seriously the food is THAT good. Go to "Curries" down the road which offers way better food and service, if you are reading this and trying to find an Indian restaurant to eat. Bottom line: my hubby got sick after eating here tonight, so it has to be one star. Otherwise I might throw one more star in, based on the apologies on slow service and prompt check-out at the end of our meal. Food: The portion is relatively generous for the price, but that means nothing to us as they are barely edible, even if not considering they made my hubby sick. Lamb Biryani: looks mushy and tasted GAMY (one way to make sure your lamb to have that smell is to buy plastic bag packed lamb and don't completely air it out). Gosht Curry: tasted like S&B (boxed curry by a Japanese brand). Roti: made over fire but lack of texture or favor, and sweet. Yes, sweet. Samosa: there was a bit dough undercooked on the edge. Chai: We make Masala Chai at home with tea leaves and spices, and what they serve tasted nothing like made from scratch, also had an alcohol taste. Yes, alcohol. No idea where those five stars reviews came from. Nothing is even close. It should have raised my suspicion when one reviewer says there is no Indian food in Everett while Curries is just down the road (1.6miles based on Google) and has opened for at least three years. I should have left when no one took our order for 10-15 mins after we sat down at the table and the restaurant was at most half full. I should have left when there are a bunch Lebanese cuisines shown on an Indian restaurant menu. And it was too late to find out they serve your roti quite a few minutes after your entrees came out, and chai tea a few more minutes after that. Oh well, it was my bad to feel adventurous and decided to try a new restaurant...lessons learnt and back to curries next time! read more

We moved to the area in early 2020 and have fallen hard for this place. We're big fans of the Butter Chicken, Lamb Tikka, Garlic Naan...come to think of it, there isn't a dish here we haven't thoroughly enjoyed. The owners & staff are super friendly; it's easy to see their passion for their business. There're a few Indian places around, but my family and I keep coming back to this one. Quite possibly the best Indian restaurant in Washington. Good decor and ambiance. But it's the food and the service that make it deserving of my rare five stars rating. The wait staff are never intrusive, always polite and quick to retrieve whatever is requested. Our food has always arrived with lightning speed and fresh from the kitchen. As for the cuisine, the most important part, this place really shines! Like their name, they are willing to cater to the best Punjabi dishes and flavor is never sacrificed. And above all their food is HALAL! Just let them know you want Halal and they will make their meats halal. Also, their portion sizes are huge! Alongside with low prices. This is a new family owned business and everyone is so friendly. I ordered the Thali Veggie platter which includes Dal Makhni, Veggie Curry, and Aloo Chana plus rice, a side salad, and naan. It was absolutely delicious. The level 3 spicy was just right too. I'll be back for the veggie curry for sure! My husband had the Butter Marsala with Chicken and a garlic naan. He isn't very adventurous (butter chicken is his go-to for Indian) but he liked this slight change up on an old favorite (it was more flavorful with spices but not overwhelmingly so). My parents and I came to 5 Rivers for their 32nd wedding anniversary and all I can say is 5 Rivers is now all three of ours favorite Indian restaurant in the area! The service was impeccable, they even adjusted the lighting around the table for us. Very authentic North Indian vibe and decorations on the inside and great ambiance. Crow and I went here tonight after finding out our local Pho' place closed early. We have been to several restaurants in the Everett area including other Indian restaurants and this is the best food by far. We started out with the samosa which was light and flavorful with what was the best mint sauce I've ever had anywhere. We are both vegetarian and ordered the mango and coconut curries. Both were absolutely perfect with just the right amount of heat. The veggies were nicely cooked without being mushy and the sauce had a beautiful depth of flavor. We got the paneer Naan which came out the size of a pizza, we could barely make a dent is the beautiful fluffy bread. Sooo good . We found out the chef in the kitchen has over 25 years experience and actually was the same chef that worked at Saffron where we had an awesome engagement dinner! This place just opened up and I'm sure it's going to do well. Our whole new home community is always looking for local gems and we absolutely will be recommending and returning. Wasn't impressed at all. Food was edible, but there are better options for Indian Food here in Everett. We ordered off of UberEats, so I can't speak to the service, but the food was just "meh". The Chicken Tikka Masala was SO sweet and tasted WAY too much of tomatoes. The garlic naan was CLEARLY made with GARLIC SALT... blech!! I love salty stuff but really?! Naan should NOT be salty!! We normally frequent Curries here in Everett for Indian, safe to say we'll be sticking to eating there. I wouldn't go back after tasting the food from 5 Rivers. 5 Rivers in Everett is another run-of-the-mill low quality indian restaurant. We picked up food from here on a busy Saturday evening as we were in the area, but were thoroughly disappointed with the quality and taste, specially given the high-rating. It's located in an old strip mall, a real hole-in-the-wall without the taste. It's a big place, and looks like it has plenty of seating, but due to Covid, they're not doing dine-in. The staff was prompt and polite, which is one of the few things going well for them. The food, however, is simply bad. To start with the good, the samosas were great, the only good thing we had here. Now with the bad, the chutneys they had with the samosas were stale and smelly, and we tossed them after a whiff. The entrees, for whatever reason, were all sweet. We tried the tikka masala, chole, and korma, and all of them were sweet, the first of its kind in the Seattle area. They lacked much flavor, and were very greasy in addition to sweet. We also got their dal maharani, which fortunately was not sweet, but did not seem completely cooked and simply did not have any spice. Even the breads here were bad. The garlic naan was a basic naan with garlic powder thrown in patches on top, not even sprinkled evenly. We also got the mint naan, which had no trace of mint on or in it, which left us wondering which naan was garlic and which was mint. Their onion kulcha was the only one that came as expected. They're priced pretty competitively, but with the quality of food, I wouldn't bother. The one extra star is only for the polite and prompt service, and the samosas. There are plenty of better restaurants in the everett-lynnwood area if you don't mind going the extra miles, which I would recommend over this any day. read more
