TL;DR: Restaurants in Cape Charles do NOT do takeout, but Gerry's does…read more When a family wedding brought us to Cape Charles, we learned an extremely interesting lesson: it's near impossible to find takeout in the town. The restaurants just do not do it. After calling several places closer to us, we eventually landed on Gerry's. It was difficult to find their menu online (much like the rest of Cape Charles). Gerry's is located right outside of the main drag of Cape Charles (I think) and the location is definitely easy to miss if you are driving at night. The building really sits on its own. Using the to-go window only (apparently they don't allow people inside right now) we picked up two sandwiches and a pizza. We were honestly just so thrilled to find a place in Cape Charles to get dinner that didn't require us to dine-in, especially after a super long car ride. I really enjoyed our shrimp pizza, which we ordered with white sauce. It comes with fresh mozzarella and garlic and is a really different type of pizza to order. We had it in the fridge for leftovers for days. It heated up surprisingly well. The gals working at Gerry's were nice and helpful and I think for the people that live here this is a solid local watering hole for pizza.

Drinks came to our tables with in a few minutes and then we ordered a small 12" pepperoni- mushroom pizza. 15 mins later the pizza arrives hot and ready for eating. All in all a good experience. Food and staff were both above average. The outside is deceiving but definitely worth trying. My wife loves a saucy pizza but this pizza was very light on the sauce, but was tasty . The crust had a nice brown - crunch. Pepperoni was plentiful and mushrooms were fresh- not from a can like other places. We rated the pizza a solid B. I ordered the chicken marsala with spaghetti. My wife ordered their cheese stromboli. We also got an order of garlic knots, a Greek salad, tiramisu, and a cannoli. When we got home with the food we found that the portions were huge. For $4 we got at least a dozen large delicious garlic knots and marinara sauce. My wife's stromboli was enormous, almost wouldn't fit in the pizza box that came in. My chicken marsala had so many pieces of tender chicken I couldn't count them all and the box it was full of spaghetti and some of the most delicious marsala sauce I have ever had. If there was one disappointing aspect of our order it was the Greek salad. The cost was $15.95, but it was mostly cut up lettuce, some tiny cubes of feta cheese pieces, olives and cucumbers. I.e. nothing near worth the price. However the rest of the meal portions were very generous and the flavor pf everything else was wonderful. Even the cannoli had a crispy shell and filling from end to end. My wife said her tiramisu was also delicious. If it had not been for the skimpy salad and the less than friendly service, I would have given Charlie's Pizzeria five stars. It was a surprising new dining experience and I hope to have the opportunity to eat in soon and see what that is like.

The ratio of meat to bread was questionable. You could take the meat from this entire hoagie and place it on half of the hoagie and it still would not be enough....AND they wanted $5 for extra meat! Do better Antonio's. Now I'm not the end all be all when it comes to hoagies/subs, but I have had my share and they have been far better. My service dog is well known, Captain Jack, a hard working service dog, and has worked as a trained service adhearing to federal law under the ADA.
