I could not tell you what beer I ordered, but I can tell you I'll never forget that view :) This place is absolutely awesome - the skyline-adjacent patio is wonderful and makes you feel like you're in the city without all the noise. Feels very urban and suburban at the same time. This place lived up to its name - truly a Richmond staple. Super old-school in appearance which makes it even more charming in appeal. Loved the wings - and honestly not too bad in price! So long as this place exists, I will most certainly be goin

Amazing staff. I had a large group of 20+ people- within minutes we were sat and drinking. Will absolutely be coming back for future group meetings/ socials.

Legend is a Richmond classic, known for their traditional beers, large patio, and skyline views (for now). I've been several times over the years and generally will order either a berliner weisse variety or a lager. I had their summer bier on my most recent visit last weekend, and it was super refreshing after a walk through downtown and across the T Pot bridge. Service was extra friendly this last visit. I've had food here in the past too, and it's always been decently good.

Four of us stopped in for dinner one evening. This is location has a great view of the Richmond skyline. There is some indoor and outdoor seating along with a covered patio type of area. There is street parking and a small lot across the street. We tried a flight of their beer and then ordered dinner. We had burgers, onion rings and fries. The lager beer was very good! The food was fair and the service was actually kind of slow. We weren't in a hurry or trying get to something but it took a LONG time for dinner. I would definitely get some beers here again, but probably skip the dinner option.

Legend Brewing Company was a pleasant surprise. On a Sunday afternoon, we walked across the Potterfield Memorial Bridge and found this brewery nearby in Old Town Manchester. The space itself is large and they have safe distance seating inside. Since we're not going inside during the pandemic, we sat outside. They have an open air covered deck with tables, heaters and city views. The beer menu is HUGE and they even have four sour ales- black currant, cherry, pomegranate and raspberry. I ordered the black current and it was tasty. It tasted more like a beer with a hint of juice in it. Even my wife and housemate enjoyed it compared to other sours. The food menu is huge and even has a kids section. My wife and I split the brussels sprouts, steak and cheese sandwich, and jalapeno coleslaw. Our housemate got the pretzel and braut and our toddler got chicken tenders and fries. For bar food, it was all really tasty and hit the spot. If you need a great lunch spot, go to Legend Brewing Company. Then walk off the calories along the nearby Potterfield Memorial Bridge.

Pub and Brewery that has a large amount of indoor and outdoor seating. They do have their own parking lot. Lots on tap and a decent sized food menu. Casual staff. I ordered a flight of 5, you can order anywhere from 4-6. Raspberry Z Dam Ale - you can really smell the raspberry. It's not sour at all but I don't taste the ginger. You get a hint of lime with the raspberry and it is really great and easy to drink. Oktoberfest - Probably one of the better oktoberfests I've tried. You do get that light honey finish and it's easy to drink. Pomegranate Berliner Weiss - You do get the hint of the pomegranate in the smell and it's a little tart with a slight hint of the fruit but the tartness us not overpowering. Blood Orange Berliner Weiss - also has a great blood Orange smell and flavor. Also just a tad sour but not overpowering. Peach Berliner Weiss - probably my favorite out of the 3 berliner Weiss, mainly cause I love peaches. I really enjoyed this one as the flavor comes through a little more. Relaxed environment and seems like a cool hangout spot!

    Tasty, but sad-looking, nachos

Haven't been here in a few years. I've got a beer allergy, so it's not on my must-do list while I'm in the RVA. But stopped in with friends yesterday for a late lunch. Since I was there last they've expanded the food menu; they now offer a wide spectrum of dishes. Mosty "traditional" brew-pub fare, but there are plenty of other options, too. Each of us enjoyed our meal: I had the "Best of the Wurst" sandwich, and I splurged with all three sausages: Knockwurst, Bratwurst *and* Andouille! Yum! The chicken wings and accompanying sauce were fine. The onion rings were tasty, but greasy (to the point of when they got cold they were inedible). We were less impressed by the nachos. The flavors were fine, the quantity was (more than) ample. But the cheese ain't even melted? Say WHAT? The letdown was the service. We waited nearly 45 minutes from the time we placed our order until the food arrived. I'm all about wishing lunch could last forever, and lingering over the James River with good friends, but we were joking about running down the street to Mickey D's to get a snack to tide us over until our food came. Didn't appear to be a staff shortage. Just seemed that all orders were taking their sweet time in the kitchen. Probably will be back, but I won't show up when I'm starving next time.

We came here for lunch. Things were great. No issues at all. Our waiter was amazing. He was always on point and around when we needed him. I loved their pronouns on their name tag! We enjoyed the pretzels, beer and sandwiches. Their chili hit the spot on a cold day. The onion rings had a little bit of a sweet taste to it, similar to a funnel cake batter. I did not like it too much. I was not wowed by the food, but everything else was perfect.

We came because we heard it's a great view of the city! It definitely would have been, but unfortunately we ended up sitting in the outdoor tent and weren't able to see it. The good: the view of the city (when the tent is not up) and the beer The okay: food is nothing to rave home about. Our table ordered the fish tacos and the fish and chips, and they were a little underwhelming. The fish in the tacos were dry, the French fries were very average, and the fish and chips had way more fried breading than actual fish. Come for the view and a good beer!!

I was visiting friends in Richmond and we wanted to get dinner before we went downtown to go to some bars. We were hungry so we wanted to go somewhere close before we crossed the river to head into the city. Some of my friends wanted to start drinking so we decided to go to a brewery not too far from where we were staying. The place seemed pretty low key from the outside, there was outdoor seating but it was cold so we decided to sit inside. The interior was very spacious, we had a pretty big group and there was no issue finding a table for all of us. The menu was pretty simple, there were appetizers, lots of sandwiches, a couple entrees, and obviously beer. I was hungry so I got the Bourbon Street, I was excited to have a filling pasta dish and I'm a fan of both chicken and shrimp so I was hoping it would be good. It didn't meet my expectations fully but it wasn't bad, I was starving so I think that made it taste a little better but had I been only a little hungry I think the food was have just been decent. The chicken was cooked well but the pasta and shrimp were just alright, the seasoning was good but it seemed like the food wasn't cooked with it, it tasted like the food was mainly seasoned at the end so the food was unevenly flavorful which I didn't really like. After finishing the meal I ordered a vegetarian chili, my friend had ordered it and he said it was good so I wanted to try it. It was meh, to be fair I don't usually eat vegetarian food but it was decently filling and not that tasty. The service we had was amazing though, it took a while for our group to figure out what we wanted and we ordered more food multiple times as people finished their food. Our server remained patient with us despite this, and I really appreciated how composed she was since we were ordering more food as she was bringing food to our table. I also got a drink, I got the brown ale, and it wasn't really my favorite, I don't think it was bad I just tend to have particular tastes for beer and the one I got wasn't amazing or anything. Overall this place was okay, it was a brewery so I wasn't expecting the food to be amazing or anything, and I basically got what I expected. The service stood out to me as being great, I appreciate out server as I could tell we were definitely testing her patience. The food was okay, I wanted a filling meal and that's what I got, and it tasted alright which is as much as I could ask for. I probably wouldn't come back here for dinner, but maybe to try more beers, which is hopefully what they're better at since they're a brewery.

Beer flight at Legend Brewing Co

Maybe 12 noon was a little early for drinking but I was thirsty and my feet hurt. After two hours and 5500 steps on my Fitbit of walking around the Hollywood Cemetery, I was ready for a cold and frosty painkiller. Still a little too warm to sit outside, we were inside today and had good service for a round of beers. I chose a flight and enjoyed them. I like that they let you pick them here, so I had four decent options. Their lager, pilsner, blood orange weisse and the regular weisse beers. All were delicious and served on a six-spot paddleboard with a printed list so I knew what was what. The orange was my favorite as it wasn't too sweet at all. Good stuff and a great view of the river from this side. [Review 11764 overall, 1546 of 2019.]

Good people, good local brews. This has been a go to place for locals through the years and a nice place to hang out with friends on the deck or inside by the bar.

Brewery hopping in Richmond- I'd recommend adding Legend onto the list because of the vibe (this place was more lively than many other breweries during the work week), and also because of the view especially at night overlooking the city across the river. They have a full food menu, too, which is a huge plus for breweries. Their smoked wings were awesome! Huge wings cooked to juicy perfection (would def recommend). Their arugula salad with citrus vinaigrette was also great. Four stars because the drinks were just good not great, and also because service seemed disorganized. There were so many different servers, and it wasn't easy to get their attention.

We ended up sitting at the bar for a couple beers and dinner. The outside vibe had fire pits and Adirondack chairs with some tables. From the minute, we entered to the moment we laughed. We were thoughtfully waited on by all the staff. Falcon smash is always my go to beer when I go there and this grilled chicken Parmesan sandwich was amazing. Definitely worth a stop when you're Midlothian Virginia.

I've followed this brewery on social media for a few months and have noticed their pictures consistently feature pours with an inordinate amount (2-3") of head on them. As someone who absolutely hates foam, I asked up front for no head. The bartender winced and explained they had to pour that way or they'd get in trouble because the ownership "wants the aroma expressed." I was taken aback...not only by the total lack of regard for the customer but for levying that threat against an employee. I was waiting to meet someone somewhere else for dinner, and put aside my disdain and capitulated as I didn't want anyone getting in trouble over a beer. So, I figured I'd make the most of things out on the patio. Alas, you can't take glass out in the patio, only plastic cups. What?!? If this were a college bar on a Friday night, sure - pour into plastic. But happy hour in Midlothian? The bartender did say they could pour no foam for a plastic cup though, which I thought was funny - they're so precious about their beer the foam is mandatory, but yeah, just dump it in plastic for the patio. All in all, a negative experience and one I won't repeat. My advice is to give the customer what they want, don't threaten employees, and eat the cost of a few broken glasses. To be clear: I get the notion of aromas and such, but this isn't Russian River or Alchemist, or even The Veil (none of which have foam mandates). I could even understand if they were busy (I was the only one ordering), but I wouldn't have asked for a longer pour under those circumstances. The beers are average regionals and customer service and good treatment of employees are non-negotiables. I hope ownership sees this and chills out; the person who pays for the beer dictates the pour, not you.
