A well deserved Michelin Star... We asked for a Chef's choice menu, in other words, what ever the chef wanted to serve us. We also asked for wine pairings... The whole meal was fantastic, but I wanted to highlight one of the courses.
The second or third course was a scallops and ham dish. The Scallops were slight baked and then browned with a blow torch, perfect. The ham was a nice Serrano ham, I think and they went together perfect with a light sauce, but what made this course extraordinary was the sommelier's pairing choice. It was a sweet, highly alcoholic white that went together like a dream. The flavor seemed to get stretched out for minutes. That, by itself, was worth the entire price of admission.
Such a great night, with great service, and a nice atmosphere... WOW!
I can not afford to do this all the time, but I will be back before I leave Berlin.
