For me the Gugelhof is as much German as it is French, but I guess that reflects its Alsacian roots. The food is reasonably priced for its very high standards and as mentioned in other reviews the service was very good, and the English speaking staff complimented by the English menu made things very easy for my visiting Scottish friends.

This restaurant had a very unique selection of French and German dishes, all extremely delicious and eclectic! In particular, the escargots and veal rösti were both incredible. Also had a great wine selection, especially the reisling. Service was also great and streetside atmosphere was so cute! Overall would 100% recommend!!

The menu even made reference to eluded it was similar but when we saw the sauce on the steak we knew without tasting it, it was not the same. We ate it, it was fine but the steak was tough even though it was cooked fairly rare ( per our request) and thinly sliced. The sauce was salty; not my favorite. Despite my experience, I was surprised to see it was fairly busy for a Monday night; seemed to be popular with the after work crowd. It was my second steak dinner in Berlin and both were a bit disappointing and maybe I'm just spoiled with my steaks as I'm not used to eating a tough piece of meat as I prefer a marbled high quality steak such as a ribeye or tomahawk cut I will stick to braised meat in Germany going forward. If you go, try something other than steak.

The steak was a perfect medium-rare, and really good Bernaise. Oh the frites!! Matchstick fries, and a very generous amount! All of the food looked fabulous, and sitting outside was glorious on a summer's evening. Our service was very good, so no complaints from us. My wife has celiac and is totally Gluten-Free. This was the perfect restaurant for Celiacs...steak was safe, and they have an absolutely dedicated fryer for those amazing frites!!! Staff was aware and accommodating. I'm fact, I called before making the reservation and the chef himself got on the phone a spoke with me. Finding a safe GF place can be frustrating...here is a high-end restaurant that is safe. As a humorous aside: Entrecôte is across the street from the "Disgusting Food Museum." But don't be put off...it is obviously all in fun and makes for a good story!!!

It is very simple, casual, relaxed and informal place. You feel like at home. One star for the quality of the food : This is a French restaurant. I was expecting good food - I am French - but I had delicious food. I had a ratatouille for main and creme brulee for desert. The desert is my way to define if a restaurant is really good. And if they have creme brulee, it is the best point of comparison. They hit the 10/10 ! One star for the quantity in the plate : When people proportions are different in Germany, I agree. In spite of the fact that La Muse Gueule is a French restaurant, the plate I was served was by somehow a German hand :D I was very hungry, and it was so good, I ate it all because I did not want to waste. I was full. I think I will have to go back to the gym after my trip to Berlin ! One star for the people : Waitress nice. Waiter very nice. For some reason the waiter brought bread twice to my table and asked several times if everything was ok with a banana smile. Very very nice waiter :) Anything else to add ? I did not put a five star here because there were a few bigs flying around me while I was outside. I know they are supposed to be proteins but I had a complete meal. No need for more proteins XD If you are alone in Berlin until the 28th August 2011, feel free to get in touch with me and I will join you for a finger licking good meal at La Muse Gueule.

Come here for a feast of flavor and tastes, not if you are starving. The desserts (especially the mousse au chocolat) is to die for. For the adventurous ones, I'd recommend having it with the café calva, an espresso with a shot of calvados on the side. Feel free to pour it in your espresso to spice it up!
