We had an incredible meal at this one Michelin star restaurant in Berlin. Even my least favorite dish (the pea broth) presented an innovative flavor combination with the addition of masala.
My favorite dish was the vegetarian-ish taco, which has a deep smokiness in the tortilla, incredible crunch and umami with the fried onion and salted egg shavings. Mind-blowing that this came out of mostly vegetable sources (the "meat" of the taco was romaine).
The other dish that blew my mind was the blueberry dessert with glutinous rice and granita. Absolutely innovative with ingredients that typically don't belong together, yet creating a completely unique flavor.
No notes on the food and service (which was professional, but not uptight), but the pacing was lacking. An 8-course meal should NOT take 4 hours.
