It was wonderful news to learn that Fredericksburg was finally moving beyond Talbots into the realm of true class. Finally a place that can accommodate my millionairess alter ego without over doing it. I love clothing that makes a statement, but in an unpretentious way. All the offerings at WHBM fit that description better than any other clothing store I've seen. So, I highly recommend it to anyone searching for power pieces that won't also carry a big "I'm a stuck up snot" label on them. I've made three visits now to the Fredericksburg location, and foresee many more visits in the future. I love the high end boutique experience that it offers! Shannon and Beth really know the meaning of service. Be prepared to feel like you have just hired your own personal stylist when you visit. I'm not sure of anyone else that works there, but Shannon and Beth will dote on you from the moment you walk in to the moment you wobble out, balancing large garment bags filled with all the latest and greatest from the WHBM collection. Also, because this location doesn't have as high traffic as most of the other stores, their sales racks have lots to choose from!

Backdoor Gallery is - IMO - better characterized as a women's fashion boutique or a women's accessories store. Though admittedly the items for sale are mainly handcrafted, artisanal, and/or one-of-a-kind/hand made pieces, they definitely fall under what I'd call ladies' fashion or accessories sales - artistic though they may be! Don't pass up this store by thinking it's another one of Fredericksburg's several Art Galleries with expensive art for sale. If you are a woman - or a man who likes giving women nice gifts - you are bound to find in Backdoor Gallery things that appeal to your refined sense of style and taste AND have a unique, reasonably priced, handcrafted flair. The staff when I've been there are exceptionally friendly & helpful - and dare I say to potential male customers: stunningly beautiful. Hmm. Perhaps it's an Art Gallery after all. Unfortunately they were not in stock. She recommended checking online instead. The very next day, I get a voicemail from Lana saying they just came in.
