Besides the staple menu, there was a rotating menu featuring a soup, mussel dish, flatbread, burger, and pasta. The food took some time to come out, and everything was rather bland across the board. The interior was decorated nicely for the holidays though. *Hummus Platter: a huge shareable for $10. The crispy naan resembled the Costco version but fried. The naan itself worked well as a base for the hummus, although the hummus was neither smooth nor flavorful. There was no fragrance from the chickpeas, and it tasted rather unseasoned. The selection of peppers, carrots, and cucumbers was decent. *Garlic Butter Mussels: their monthly mussel dish. The mussels were cooked well and coated in a one dimensional sauce. The sweet wine was cooked down with lots of garlic, while the butter was subtle. I wished there had been a bit more toasted baguette to balance the one pound of seafood. Note there is a 3% credit card surcharge. I could not find this listed on their menu and but I saw the charge on my receipt. I enjoyed the few beers I had, and the food was acceptable for a bar. With some improvement to the flavors, this could be a worthwhile visit for a bite and a drink.

The fries were crispy on the outside but still fluffy on the inside. They were dry service was good not many people in the restaurant for lunch. It was a Tavern type of decor. My only issue was the beer cheese. It tasted too much like beer. The beer flavor was definitely over powering. The other special sauce wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. A typical thousand island type of sauce. But over all it was pretty solid. I would comeback and try something else.

Review #491…read more Saturday - 8/31/2024 Drum Roll In The City Of Drums! I'm still reviewing in PA after visiting family for 2 Birthday celebrations, so was also here to Cheer & Dine at Evan's for the first time. But Will Be Back here in Drums Again! 5 stars for Food, Service and Ambiance ! ***** My cousins live in Mountain Top and every year or twice a year depending on our schedules we visit each other in our states 10 hours away! My dear and wonderful cousins Donna & Steve D. always likes to surprise Me with a new and different place to eat inside especially since they know what to expect for a excellent dining experience for lunch or dinner. We all stopped here for dinner on Friday August 9th since being in town for Aunt Peg's surprise 90th Birthday Party on Saturday the 10th. Note this restaurant establishment does NOT accept reservations but there's plenty of room inside in front, back at the bar and a private dining room for groups and special occasions. Upon entering the door is that hometown feeling where locals dine more frequently than a Michigander as Myself but that's okay cuz Steve picked Evan's Roadhouse as a "You will Love their chicken and Philly steak sandwiches and those beer battered fries. So I said You are the King of Food! Our server was Katy and she was very welcoming to seat us all in the Private Dining Room... maybe she thought to keep us quiet away from others? We are happy and loud gabbers! lol The menu has many delicious and tasty food items to try. (Photos attached) They also offer a Happy FOOD Hour too so eat after work or just early ! The BAR Menus we talked about 1st of course and throughout our long dining visit the 6 of us drank 3 rounds of cocktails to celebrate Steve's birthday and just being together for our Summer visit. I certainly enjoyed My cocktail called a Blue Hawaiian although it was green after mixing in Malibu Rum, Blue Curacao, Pineapple & Lime Juice. I ordered the shaved chicken wrap sandwich and it was loaded with meat, cheese, peppers and onions plus filled with flavor and YES I ate the whole thing with Evan's famous tasty beer battered seasoned fries. Another great place to eat in Drums, PA (Near Aunt Peg's apartment and My cousins house 10 minutes down the hill in Mountain Top. Prices are reasonable although another visiting family member took the bill to pay so I didn't see the total although the bar tab was thirsty to say ! $$$ Thank YOU TO KATY our server that was attentive, pleasant and helpful with suggestions to our questions and with ideas as well. Love the painted etch windows where I ate showing several scary movie characters to brighten up one's views at all table and booths. Hours: Monday - Sunday 11:30 AM till 9 PM Call for Carry-Out: Before 8:30 PM (570) 788-8888 What a satisfying visit here at Evans to chat, sip, cheer and have an enjoyable dinner for 2 hours off 309 and Honey Hole Rd. (YES another review coming) Sincerely, Karen N. SpecialK :-) Macomb, MI.

That being said they offered two bands the first night was cheeseball the second band much better as well as a good DJ. We stayed at Jon half hour away I wish there were better options for accommodations. Additionally, we stayed 3nights at this house which left much to be desired. It's a good one maybe two night stay but not worth 3 nights. Vendors were great and undecided if I'd come back. My thoughts are to ho to a different cigar fest rather then just do the same one over. We will see but at this point I give the event itself a 5 star but the Poconos a 1 star feel very run down and in need of a huge refresh.

The business, itself, is one of THE BEST cigar/ restaurant lounges I have ever had dinner and a…read moresmoke at. The food is off the charts, with the quality of the meats, and seafood they select, to it's preparation, and it's taste. From what I've read about it in cigar publications, 70% of it's restaurant business are non-smokers. And that says a LOT about their food, and ever changing menu. The food is so good, that non-smokers are willing to tolerate cigar smoke, just to have dinner there. I'd say thats an impressive compliment to their chef's. The service was good, although sometimes they get caught up in the "chaos" when the restaurant gets really busy, like during their "Smoke-onos in the Poconos" Cigar Festival, but that's totally understandable because they're basically hosting over 1,000 festival goer's because that festival is THAT successful. I call it Disney World for cigar smokers. It's a fun event. I did, however, have one problem at the event this year, an event I have been attending since it first started in 2024. They offer an included breakfast buffet on the last day, Sunday morning, 4/17/26. It's included with the type of ticket I had purchased. After sitting down to eat my breakfast, they asked me for the "breakfast coupon". They never had these at previous events, they just checked our event wrist bands, and breakfast was served. I didn't have it because I didn't even know there was one. I explained to the GENERAL MANAGER - SCOTT MCMACKEN, that my coupon was buried in my luggage, and my truck was parked down the hill, and at a distance, and because of my physical disabilities, and all the walking around we had to do over the long weekend, I informed him I was in a lot of pain in my spine, and hips, and walking down the hill, and then climbing back up, wasn't an option for me, unless I'm leaving. I had 2 different items on me to prove, beyond any doubt, that I was a ticket holder with this breakfast buffet included. His response, "I don't want to see those, you need to have the coupon, or you have to pay for breakfast". And that was it, after I had already started eating. I just want to "thank" him, personally, for his total lack of courtesy, and discretion, and for making me pay another $22, after spending $350 on an event ticket, and the additional $1300 I spent on cigars, and other items, in their cigar store, and at the event. I've never been treated like that, by ANY business, when my disabilities came into play during a discussion, of any kind, regarding doing business with anyone. The $22 was nothing, at all, to pay. It was his lack of discretion, when I mentioned why I couldn't walk to my truck to get the coupon, and his total lack of concern for my needs, when I offered him the pass card I was wearing around my neck at the event, and his flat out refusal to even look at the digital ticket proving that I was a Super VIP ticket holder. Very surprising treatment, for ANYBODY, for a business like this. But this is just one person, thank God, which doesn't reflect on the rest of the service, and professionalism, of the rest of the staff. Overall, it's still an excellent cigar, and dinner, destination....

This is a review of Tavern on the trail update. I've recently found out that the establishment has…read morebeen sold to a new owner. I have met him just this past week and think he's a stand-up guy. This is all my opinion and I'm just somebody that frequents this place as much as I can however I am not 100% local. So a lot of what's in Place is going to stay like it is for now which is nice. You're going to see a more enhanced menu but for the most part, many of the faces you've come to know at this place I'm going to be here. Everything sounds really positive in the changeover. One saying that I'm not crazy about is a possibility of the changing the name. This is my opinion here. Since 2020 the previous new owners took over ....and the name of Capone's went into the history of this location. It had residence here for many many years. Back then it was really no more than the towns great dive bar. A local establishment in a small town filled with locals. And rightly so. It was everything anyone could ask for in a local bar. From 2020 till early this year those owners with the new name of Tavern on the Trail went through highs and lows of rebranding the establishment. They took it from the dark dive bar entity to a brightly lit place where patrons can enjoy a smoke free bar. As well, families can come to eat and not have to worry about smoking and some of the other things that come with a dive bar categorically.. Since then as well, and this is important, the Tavern has become a great stop for recreational visitors. Those using the trail as well as River recreation. Being an Outdoors person myself kayaking and hiking and backpacking, biking.... If I am out and about on one of my excursions and there just happens to be a place called Tavern on the trail, which associated with the trail that I'm on, I think that's cool. I am definitely trying it. I've met so many people that only come around once a year. They make Tavern on the Trail a scheduled stop. So not just for these types of visitors, but all kinds of visitors to the community of Whitehaven this name Tavern on the Trail. I think it's attractive and well thought of as the base reality of it all is the Tavern actually sits on the trail.. I for one I'm going to be disappointed when the name changes. However, that won't stop me from coming. This place is far and away. so much better than years ago..
